How is the sensitivity of this rod?

It uses SCIV+ carbon fibers so it is very sensitive. But I value how a rod casts baits and fights fish over sensitivity because I tend to slack line soft plastics and detect them when I lift the bait. It feels like I have a wet rag on the end of my line. Then I use the length of the rod to sweep the hook set as I reel like crazy to take up line. I love the length of this rod for that reason.

@@FishPoint-WithJoeMichels Thank you very much for the clarifications.then which one would you recommend more for texas jig vinyls without plumbing like ikas or sakamata spinner and chatter the 7.1MHF 7.3MHF or the 7.5MHF?

@@alvarocarmonalucas6757 Good question. I have all three rods. I consider them to all be designed by St Croix to be the versatile rods in the line, meaning they will work for many different baits and styles of fishing. I use the 7.1NHF for my spinnerbait fishing. But I also love fishing spinnerbaits on the Rip-N-Chatter as well as chatter baits. Keep that in mind for a second. Between the other two, I can't decide. I really like the length of the 7.5MHF but the 7.3MHF is feels great when casting soft plastics. I use both of them with a high speed reel for jigs and Texas Rigs. If you Carolina Rig a lot, go with the 7.5MHF. Other then that, pick the one based upon the rod length you like. If you want a light duty pitching/flipping rod the Power Finesse 7.3HXF is a fantastic rod for that.
Here would by my line up for fishing shallow water in cover. 7.2HM Rip-N-Chatterfor chatterbaits, buzzbaits and spinnerbaits, 7.1MHF All-In for spinnerbaits, 7.3HXF Power Finesse for pitching light baits to cover. For offshore fishing with jigs, Texas Rigs 7.3MHF Workhorse, or 7.3HXF Power Finesse , and 7.5MHF Warhorse for jigs and Carolina Rig. Also, all three would work great for swimbaits with 3/8oz heads or bigger. Lastly, I use slow-speed reels on my spinnerbait rods. 4.8:1 or 5.0:1 to slow roll blades.
      Hope this is useful.

I wanted a mh and it was between one of the 3 sizes that there are but I think that because of the applications that I want to give it and because of the length since I am going to fish with it especially from the shore I am going to take the 7.5 I hope it is just as sensitive than one of shorter length

Check out the Trika 7’5” MHF. It’s more sensitive with a faster tip and same price point. The ST. Croix’s are more mod fast

@@FishPoint-WithJoeMichels reach out to Trika they have a 365 day trial period where you purchase a rod and if you don’t like it they will fully refund your money for up to a year including shipping. Get the 6X Trika 7’5 MHF they are terrific rods. I’m a big St. Croix fan too I have probably 7 of their rods. The LTB 7’3 MHF is the best chatter bait rod I’ve found. I’m not a fan of glass rods fishing heavy hydrilla and their carbon rods have the perfect bend for the way I fish. I fish braid to flourocarbon leader and sometimes straight braid if it’s really thick. Going back to Trika I am not sponsored by them whatsoever but they build a great sensitive rod. They are 100% made in the USA with spiral wrapped blanks that they manufacture in house and the customer service is fantastic. It’s definitely worth a try I think you’ll like it. Great review on your St Croix rods review. I like how you break down each model. Tight Lines
