Nothing is free. Windows 10 is a huge construction site, unfinished in every corner. Still, Microsoft is doing everything to get people to switch. The end of support for Windows 7 was by no means necessary, because the operating system itself is still very modern and is hardly inferior to Windows 10. That was a completely different story at the end of support for Windows XP. The switch from 32 to 64 bit has paid off. The technical difference between Windows 7 and 10, on the other hand, is negligible. Windows 10 is still using NT 6. Although it was renamed NT 10 a few years ago, there are no technical differences. So what reason did Microsoft have to shoot down Windows 7 after just 10 years, while Windows XP survived 13.5 years despite the outdated technology? The reason for this is very simple: Windows 10. Microsoft wants to force all users to switch. That sounds more than suspicious to me. Microsoft gives us an operating system for free, then they eliminate all alternatives. What does Microsoft get from the fact that all users switch to Windows 10? Is it just the statistics that are the goal? Or is there more to it? This may all sound like a conspiracy theory, but think about it: when have you ever got something for free on the Internet that was not linked to a subscription trap or a free trial period? Do you really think that Microsoft, the world's largest IT company, is giving away over $ 100 worth of Windows for free just because they feel like it? There must be some plan behind it. In any case, I will not switch. I am now very satisfied with Windows 8.1. You can adapt it very well to Windows 7, then you have a very fast and stable operating system with a familiar design and security updates until 2023. Here you also had the choice between touch and normal desktop. In Windows 10 everything was mixed together. The result was an ugly interface that is relatively useless for any kind of use. The buttons are too big for desktop PCs and too small for touch devices. I am very disappointed with Windows 10 and hope that there will soon be an alternative that is also compatible with Windows programs.
@windows lover! Windows 11 is an optical improvement for sure, it even reminds me a little bit of Windows 7, but the catastrophic mismanagement of Microsoft continues.

I just miss the windows XP days. Used to run Windows XP Black Edition and it looked amazing for its time. Especially with MSN Messenger messages flashing in the taskbar.

it's funny (???) how so many people endorse W10 without taking into consideration the down sides to 'upgrading'..for instance, just because someone at Microsoft says your computer is 'ready' for W10 doesn't mean that it is..going all the way back to Windows 95, Egghead, with an exclamation point, said you could "run W95 in 4mb or ram!'..run??? - 'run, in this case, means two things (1) buy more memory (in other words, spend more money); (2) buy a new computer (in other words, spend more money)..nope....

Tsynk Z. ZVoin literally, I did that, Windows 10 is much slower than Ubuntu and actually the install corrupted itself and I was stuck on Ubuntu for a year
@@Eric-qe6xz I created a dual boot on my laptop, I rarely boot into Windows now, I always select Ubuntu at the GRUB loader. Glad to be a Linux user at this point, I feel more free.
Tsynk Z. ZVoin yeah, me too. Sometimes school forces me to use applications for Windows only, but otherwise I just use Ubuntu. It uses half the RAM and runs much faster

I have no updates by using *SUDO APT-GET INSTALL WINDOWS10LEMODS*
Then *SUDO WINDOWS10LEMODS*
And then *CHANGE UPDATE CHANNEL*
AND LAST *1.1.1.1*
Then Updates will stop since Microsoft put the same updates as windows 10 in windows 10 Linux editon!
I use 8.1 Pro its the best here is why:
Win10: Very Good at running games but when I run some new games (battlefield 1 maybe) it reachs to 80 degree :(
Win7: Good 50 degree but cant run all games :(
Win8:No longer supported :(
Win8.1: 60 degree not bad :D And it can run all my games

I installed windows 10 on my laptop but it only had 4 gigabytes of RAM it had windows 8.1 but when i updated it to Windows 10 it had trouble doing anything because of a lack of RAM and it crashed so often that i reset it back to windows 8.1 now it works fine

GamerThatPlays Mine had windows 10 for some time too, but I had 4 GB of ram... It worked most of the time until it started to lag and had a few BSODs. Then my dad put in 3 GB of ram making it worse. My computer was very slow, apps would crash A LOT, and the worse part was when I wanted to downgrade it back to 7 it would completely crash. No bsod even... Scary, right? Well no worries anymore! My dad found a way past that all and got windows 7 ultimate on my laptop now! It's supposedly a work computer but it runs a bit faster then any average work computer! It isn't as great as a gaming computer though. Still awesome.

It was harder to use and convoluted for traditional desktop users. I personally liked it because it worked well on my hardware (a 2-in-1), but I still thought Windows 10 was simpler to use

Actually XP and most of the Microsoft products were spy wares. You must understand that they didn't starting to spy on people since 2016, they've been doing this since 2000,2001.
You remember those critical updates they sent you to protecting you from malicious worms, and there seems to have new one each months.
Well all those updates were in fact creating new backdoor to spying on you.
It allow them to always work on your particular computer, testing their backdoor against commercial firewalls, deleting stuff they don't want you to see.

But you can still use XP now, it's not as dangerous as in the 90s, they abandon it already. They focus more on windows 7,10

FYI -Windows 10 does not come with Windows Media Player. Correction- I meant Windows Media Center.
it does have windows media player and the privacy issue is really easy to circumvent. i bet you haven't even tried using it. you're just jumping onto these band wagons of "windows 10 sucks, windows 7 the best!"

And yes I tried Windows 10 on an old laptop because anything that is offered for free comes with a catch. That catch was all the malware in Windows 10. Yes I know you can circumvent some of malware as I placed a link in my comment on how to do so. It is obvious that you have comprehension problem or you would have seen that. I would stay as far away from Windows 10 as possible. Ten to one these so called malware fixes do not remove all Microsoft's ability to spy on you. Any company that will do this from the start and has to caught before coming clean with their dirty deed is not beyond having back doors into your OS.
Now Microsoft is moving the malware into Windows 7 and 8 by Windows update. Once again with not one word mention of this in the update description.

who the heck still uses windows media center in 2016? did you really get hooked with the windows xp experience? i didn't even bother using it on windows 7 because there were a lot of better alternatives for it, besides you can still install it on windows 10 by doing a few tweaks in the command prompt just like when you want the default image viewer from windows 7 which i actually prefer, you edit the registry and you would have them back again because if you're upgrading from windows 7 or 8 it is still in the system, you just have to manually re enable them.
do you seriously think all these "spying" are new to windows 10? prior os even before windows 7 came out were already suspected of doing some unauthorized data gathering from your computer that are connected to the internet. no matter what you do as long as you uses windows at some point they would gain something from your computer.
so what is your recommendation? stick to windows 7 cause it's "better" and doesn't invade your "privacy"? up until when? 2020 when they end the extended support for it and your system becomes vulnerable?
if you're so paranoid about the "privacy" issue then why not opt for os such as linux? like i said you're just one of these people that jump onto these "windows 10 suck" bandwagons. oh so you've tried it before? like a week or two? cool, i've had it far longer than you do though so i get to actually experience the difference, the flaws, the improvements and so on. you on the other hand just like to hype.

People are telling me that they woke up one morning to find that this "Windows 10" was automatically installed on their computers, without their concent. Is this even LEGAL? If so, when is it LEGAl to hack into someone's computer, when they are not commuting any crime? Or are they just going to give THEMSELVES permission to do so ?
It's not legal and one person already got ten G from Microsoft for doing it. They settled out of court though because Microsoft knew they would lose.

Oh and by the way Microsuck, I didn't install any of your Windows 10 Upgrade or Telemetry Updates for Windows 7, and I set Windows Update to Manual (it doesn't even check for updates, unless I manually start the process). Plus, I researched & disabled all the telemetry services and deleted the associated scheduled tasks, too! And I disconnect my WiFi whenever I'm not using it. And I turn off my PC's power when I'm not using it. And I unplug it, too!! No surprise forced 'upgrade' for me!!

I got a windows 10 computer and its sooooooooooooo slow!! I use an Windows 7 computer now. Its like 231 pounds and it feels like I just put all that money in the trash!
From my understanding, Windows 10 is meant for SSD based machines and runs great on systems where an SSD is their boot device. I've even got it to run well on systems dating back to 2007. All you need to get Windows 10 to work well is a cheap SSD.

Windows 10 is just a waste of RAM, I don't remember Windows 7 having this problem, only BSoDs which i fix them later.

I've got machines dating from 2007 to 2012 and they all run Windows 10 now. I've done some minor upgrades (i.e. installing an SSD) and the systems work fine with Windows 10. As a rule of thumb in my experience, as long as you have a SSD in your system, computers that came with Windows Vista Home Premium or newer/better will run perfectly with Windows 10
