She was so great.. .and so smart.. and so fast... and so talented. A great writer.. a concert pianist.. a great cook.. an artist.. brilliant in stage direction.. in lighting.. She just knew her stuff. And was amazingly nice, to boot. We won't see the likes of Ms. Diller pass this way anytime soon. A true American original.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression...and I remember the first time I saw her perform! It was magical-what a beautiful soul with a brilliant comedic mind!!!❤
14:30 "Most comics are held back by lack of material, and that's when they fall into the use of dirty words or shock words because they know they'll get a cheap laugh, but it isn't a real laugh. You need to go for laughs from your material...Don't show off; entertain." So well said. Profanity is a cop-out, a crutch for comics who know they're not as funny as they should be. The shock factor of trash-mouth, low-brow comedy doesn't last long before the audience sees the material can't stand on its own without the profanity, and then it begins to fall flat.
You achieved the legacy. You were someone who took our cares/worries away, if only for a moment. Thank You Phyllis!
She was the most shining bright star.

One of the greatest comedy legends of our time. She invented herself right before our eye's.
She’s a treasure in every way! I’ve loved her for years and this interview only reinforced my devotion.
A brilliant woman
Phyllis Diller was a real class act.
She absolutely was. ❤️

What ever happened to her real husband and her kids
Many of them died. There are a few children still alive in 2023.
@@Laurieayerstv I saw an interview with her and she said she divorced her husband
Yes, both of them. Sherwood in 1965 and Warde in 1975.
T.Y.
"A lousy comic will start knocking the audience."
