Yeah he looks interesting. I do think attacking him as often as you can is a good play as it will force him to spend the deal tokens and help limit how much power gains a turn and how often he can teleport and beam etc. I do think Stun is actually quite good into him as it helps prevent him from gaining 4-6 power during the power phase and limits the power he gets from being attacked
@@shaunkrogulski9619 It'll be interesting to see how attacking him plays out, forcing out deal tokens is nice but he can then kinda spread the damage around his team where it's least meaningful with a pretty large area for it. I'm very curious to see how he plays on the table.
Dude he looks like a fantastic 5. Imagine getting that 11 die R4 Beam round 3? Getting double activations for multiple characters in a single round? Incinerating everyone for team wide attack rerolls? Granting power for allies in the cleanup phase? He's everything Dormammu wishes he was for 3 less threat.
@@inquisitordalius3388 I expected 6+ as well, but I actually really like the 5, he's not usually the centerpiece threat, he gets others to do his dirty work, which I think feels right as a 5.
I see mephisto being one of those character that certain people will just grief people with... while other people will find him to be a dud... He is very much a tempo character, if you get the timing right his deals can and will be devastating... but it will take people practice to get it right and getting it wrong will just undermine your own game plan. Due to the design nature of the card and the reliance on cards... i don't see him making a huge splash in the competitive meta... if anything I see him more as the dark horse tech pick for certain plans and rosters. He is basically a goofy utility knife and you either like that kind of chaos in your list or you don't. He is not like other recent 5 threats a Loki or a Dracula were they are very straight forward in what they want to do and how they will do it. Even werewolf by night has 2 modes attack and defense... toss him in hydra and enjoy him... but you need lots of conditions on the table to make him shine.

Stun would be terrible for him. It would shut off his 4 power in power phase (or 6 possibly)
@@nathanwalsh3250 Yeah stun definitely slows him down, he's gonna have to watch out for that.
They updated the article and showed his leadership.
@@ianJames148 Ah shoot, thanks for pointing that out!
I hope he does become a leader, I hoped he would have been a threat level 6 or more but he seems cool.

Good news. He is.
