Somewhat informative. However, it falls short of actually explaining how to add or remove icons not listed in the power>notification selection. I have gone as far as downloading something called RBTray, it works in the background, but it also fails to offer the programs I want in my notification area.

Try also TrayIt and 4t Tray Minimizer Free. I actually got that last one to minimise a troublesome program that wouldn't work with either of the other two.
