honestly as a nintendo fan, this was such a cool event. it makes me wish that companies documented their development history, so we could all study it.
Oh wow, at 1:43, it really is true that Link had pink hair! It still blows my mind, especially considering, within the last however many years (seems like since 2016 to me, at least), there was a whole "boom" of "randomizers", and in getting any for A Link To The Past, one could easily choose blonde for Link's hair, and it worked perfectly.
I wish they'd really consider giving the Zelda 2 style another try, its combat controls are simple but mechanically deep, and I always wanted to see one more, polished go at it...
Perhaps a mix of Zelda 1 overworld map and dungeons mixed with Zeld 2 gameplay elements with the sidescrolling platforming and Dungeons but blended together like how Contra has top down levels and sidescrolling platforming levels something like that maybe
That'd just be another BotW game. I was thinking more about well, a remake, remaster, or reimagining of the 2D sidescroller with the quick-reflex-input style combat, choosing whether or not to hit low, middle, or high.@@joaquincastaneda6695
I enjoyed watching this video before going to bed last night. As someone who loves retro pixel art, it was cool seeing a ton of Nintendo sprites I have never seen before.
Slight error I noticed in the video... The 3D FX sword fighter's colors were added by leakers/archivers. Making it less likely they were Zelda related.
Actually no, the source files are not only called link, but the colors defined in the .anm model files match up to the colors in the starfox palette, with the boots being gray, the outfit being green, sword being white, and finally, the shield being blue. The fact its literally called LINK is a giveaway.
3:37 that model on the right is links smash 64 model without the textures, which is also used in the fighting polygon team in 1P mode. Could that mean theres more smash related stuff there?
I heard that there's even more stuff the leakers haven't dropped. Specifically due to the fact that they wanna lay low. So this leaking may not be over yet.
I know the chances are slim, but i'd kill for the E3 demo of Super Mario Sunshine. The game had such a different vibe back then and i'd love to see how much of that version has been completed
about the bs zelda sprites and side scroller link sprites, my theory is that nintendo originally planned a super mario all stars type bundle of remastered zelda 1 and 2 for the super famicom/nes but zelda 2 got scrapped and zelda 1 was put on the satellaview service
The Link model for the superfx is indeed link, the colors when imported match up AND the model itself is called LINK.

Hey you won the giftcard for gamestop. Give me your email address and I will send it your way.
Considering what they did to link's awaking i think there's hope. It would be really cool

Yeah, there's a lot of leaked Yoshi's Island sprites never saw before, like an unused placeholder Bullet Bill...
@@IvanFranco120 That's cool, I did not know about the unused placeholder Bullet Bill sprites. Yoshi's Island is one of my favorite games.

@@DigiSpaceProductions Thanks for the correction. If you post your comment as a new comment I will pin.
@@GameFactsSpecial no probs
We were really robbed on getting a Zelda II remake of sorts
originally animal crossing was split into 4 islands that each had a dungeon. the zelda sprites could've been a leftover of that phase.
As one of those weirdos who really likes Zelda II, I would have loved a SNES remake, Super FX, SatellaView or otherwise.

they actually got the Link model up and running in Star Fox with correct colors!
@@GameFactsSpecial could you send a link to that? thats really cool!

I like that theory. Sounds plausible.
So where is the part from Link's awakening 2: The quest to save Marin from being trapped as a seagull forever ?
307 days remaining till
this was a very deep dive. nice work.
"Lake Hilliya" :D
great video, thank you!
Isn't this 5:53 The Kokiri Forest or am i wrong?
Seems that way
I see the gigaleaks are insane, but the thumbnail surprised me to me thinking: "Wait an sequel of Zelda 2"? 🤔
Not 100% sure what it was. Could have been a Zelda 2 remake or perhaps a new Zelda game. I wish they made it don't you?
Maybe they planned to have BS Zelda with Link as an NES game for Animal Crossing?
I think you might be right.
The fxchip AoL model was confirmed by the devs to be as such
