@eufysecuritycameraowners4795 Well seeing in the heading I said VIDEO DOORBELL, in your link it's only showing 1, so if 1 is alot then yea, but there are 2 video doorbells named S330 Battery and Wired and in item description for each it doesn't say if they are compatible but they sell one bundled with HB3, so you would think all S330 doorbells are compatible, since they have same name,
I see some people mentioned not knowing which was which, in post you could always just put text on screen with model to avoid confusion. Just food for thought next time and requires no reshoot.
Watched the video as I didn't even realise they were different, I'd fitted an S330 for my niece and bought an E340 for myself. By luck rather than judgement I've found a major bonus of the E340 lower lights. If you position the doorbell above your door handle these lights will help you use your door key at night, really useful. I'm sure for most people they'll get this height automatically but there's a step up to my door and it was just by luck that I fitted it slightly higher than the door handle. Also just fitted a spotlight camera and was a bit annoyed it's not fully Homebase 3 compatible but adding it into a group with the doorbell has given me perfect cross camera tracking.
I have used both but prefer S330 mainly because there is a radar feature & you can set the sensitivity of each angle which is missing on the E340, also the audio mic sounds less compressed so you can pick up background noise better, whereas the E340 sounded muffled like it was underwater. If you have a security light then you can get colour night vision on the S330 just by turning the infrared off. The led light will drain the battery quicker especially in winter. The removable battery of the E340 is one clear advantage that makes it a better choice, also the three second pre roll if you wire to the mains. A pity they didn't increase the resolution of the camera to 4K from 2K only then would i consider upgrading.
Good video, the only thing is it got hard to hear sometimes, things sounded muffled. I would highly recommend getting a dedicated mic, either one that clips onto your caller or a studio mic. Both will give you much better audio.

Great... i think i just paid more for the older version, cause eufy does everything to hide the differences between those two on its own store. The S330 doesnt even have a product number in the store. It just says "2K dual Camera add-on"
Yes I would go E340 still - I think the biggest advantage is being able to swap the battery in a matter of seconds rather than have to charge the whole Doorbell for hours
Thanks, after your review, I'm going to cancel my ring and buy it. I'll let you know how I get on. I'm going to wait and see if I need a chime or a Homebase before I invest in those.
I replaced my Nest doorbell with this Eufy doorbell two days ago. I loved everything about it except the lack of blue LED halo light around the doorbell button that illuminates when motion has been detected. It's quite challenging to locate the button mostly during the night even when the top and bottom LED lights are illuminated. It makes people press the camera by mistake instead of the correct button. The blue LED halo light around the button of the Nest doorbell I replaced with this doorbell automatically illuminates when a motion was detected. I know the light existed because it works during setup but may not be intended to work with motion detection or when someone presses the button. I wonder if you have figured out if there are mysterious setting(s) to solve this.

I have the Ring doorball wired with plug-in adapter on the other side of the wall. My question is; do you know if this PSU that I'm currently using with my Ring will work with a Eufy E340?

I understand that the Wired versions usually have a 3-second pre-record, will that be available on the 340? Is it definitely available on the Wired 330?
@BionicRasta is the pre roll only available if hard wired or will it work off battery also? Is the E340 worth it for the extra battery? I've heard the S330 has better mic/speaker and motion detection due to the radar?
@@samh8560 I returned it before the Dec 2023 update to enable pre-roll to know for certain, but upon searching reports are that you do need to hardwire it to enable that feature. I haven't seen anyone review test how well it works tho. The extra battery is definitely one of its strengths over the non removable units as you can just swap it out to charge it & keep the doorbell in use. That's just aswell since the LED lights will drain it much faster if they're used often. Yes from experience the S330 doorbell has better mic pick up than what i experienced with the S340 which sounded muffled due too much background noise suppression. But whether that has since improved with updates i don't know.
Thanks for comparison. You where talking about a white version with 3s pre recording. I was not able find this version. But would love this functionality for the battery version dual camera. Can you share the link or is it an announced product?
Is see the model i own for more than a year in the netherlands E330 also has the power connector at the back. But for me it is not really clear from your video if i make it wired will it become a 3s preroll recorded? Or is this only happening with the basestation3?
Hi, great review, thinking of getting this but what are the automations like for this and other Eufy cameras - can it like have auto response if motion is detected at night for example, and how is the Alexa integration? Thank you
Alexa integration is decent and can be used as chimes or to view cameras live Integrations also work well for me. See my top tips videos which includes both of the above
@@eufysecuritycameraowners4795 I ideally want it for remote and auto alarm set up so that if motion is detected outside, by the Eufy and / or other cameras, then a alarm will sound for about 1 min if no one is at home
Question; i would like to use the E340 without home base station, is the delay of doorbell press affected by this when i want to answer the doorbell remote? if yes what is the average time to respond to someone in front of the door?
Without a dedicated chime the doorbell uses the homebase as a chime which is just loud enough to hear from 1 - 2 rooms away. However using echo devices throughout the house is much better and they ring instantly
@@eufysecuritycameraowners4795 what a deal breaker, is the feature I use the most with Alexa/Ring...My house is far from the front door, if I don't answer the doorbell, they think I'm not home by the time I can reach the door.

Hard to say at the moment as the E340 has only been up a month and not fully discharged yet (its about 75%) - I used to get 2-3 months out of the S330. As for recharging, the E340 is easier due to the removable battery. Having a 2nd battery to replace means no down time unlike the S330

I understand that the Wired versions usually have a 3-second pre-record, will that be available on the 340? Is it definitely available on the Wired 330?
I'm not 100% sure as mine is not wired - I'd recommend you ask this on our Facebook group m.facebook.com/groups/261100604571331/?ref=share
Pre-roll is a feature of the E340 (look closely & it says on the box). There will be a firmware to enable it this month (December 2023).
@BionicRasta I can confirm that it surely does, but 4 seconds instead of 3 seconds.
I believe only wired versions will do a pre- roll record. The E340 model can be both wired or battery
Is see the model i own for more than a year in the netherlands E330 also has the power connector at the back. But for me it is not really clear from your video if i make it wired will it become a 3s preroll recorded? Or is this only happening with the basestation3?
Im not 100% sure - I'd recommend you ask this question on our Facebook group

Aren’t there custom zones you can setup to avoid getting traffic alerts?
@rob1261a yes there are those too - you can set activity zones where you want notifying of motion
Hi, great review, thinking of getting this but what are the automations like for this and other Eufy cameras - can it like have auto response if motion is detected at night for example, and how is the Alexa integration? Thank you
Alexa integration is decent and can be used as chimes or to view cameras live
Integrations also work well for me.
See my top tips videos which includes both of the above

@@eufysecuritycameraowners4795 I ideally want it for remote and auto alarm set up so that if motion is detected outside, by the Eufy and / or other cameras, then a alarm will sound for about 1 min if no one is at home
@SanjayChadha this an be achieved with automations where either the homebsse or another camera can be the alarm
@@eufysecuritycameraowners4795 thank you for getting back to me
Question; i would like to use the E340 without home base station, is the delay of doorbell press affected by this when i want to answer the doorbell remote? if yes what is the average time to respond to someone in front of the door?
@eoahome this can vary depending on WiFi signal/speed and 4G/5G on your phone - personally mine is around 2 seconds
What does it sound like? Loud enough? With chime / Echo, which is better?
Is there a bit delay with Echo please?
Without a dedicated chime the doorbell uses the homebase as a chime which is just loud enough to hear from 1 - 2 rooms away. However using echo devices throughout the house is much better and they ring instantly
Can you use the app on other devices other than your mobile phone simultaneously for example a PC?
@stephenpaterson841 yes - PC Laptop iPad- etc
Thank you
SO using Amazon Alexa, is only passive viewing, you can't talk and listen thru the doorbell like you can with Ring??
@@robertk617 correct - no 2 way conversation on alexa with eufy
@@eufysecuritycameraowners4795 what a deal breaker, is the feature I use the most with Alexa/Ring...My house is far from the front door, if I don't answer the doorbell, they think I'm not home by the time I can reach the door.
I have a eufy robot vacuum and really debating on getting the doorbell camera.. but I am very confused on the whole homebase thing. Do I HAVE to buy the homebase? Or can I just get the camera? If I don’t buy the homebase how does that limit me?
Homebase gives you more storage and face recognition. Doorbell and all solocams can work without a homebase
Hello, just to confirm. I am using the single 2k battery doorbell that I added a wedge 35deg. Can I use that back if I upgrade to either of the s330 or e340?
@mik385 you can't use the same back plate, but you can use the same screw holes - all back plates have holes that aline
@mik385 also the s330 and e340 come with a wedge
@@eufysecuritycameraowners4795 thanks so much for the reply. I bought a aftermarket 35deg wedge hence wanted to use back as my senario. Also the wedge that comes with will still require to use the bracket? So I guess it is safe for me to upgrade:)
@mik385 yes the wedge requires the back plate bracket
Watch a review ɓy another person who said of the 340 when speaking to a person only the persons part of the conversation is recorded for play back and not the owners voice. Has this been corrected
Would the e340 be compatible with the HomeBase as well as the accompanying chime? Just in case I bought other Eufy outdoor cams that require the HomeBase :)
@ArronsAdventures HB3 is compatible, however the doorbell ring noise is either the HB3 or the dedicated chime. If HB3 then you can also have Alexas as multiple chimes
@eufysecuritycameraowners4795 Thanks for your fast reply! So it's basically one or the other regarding the chime. I think I'm leaning towards the s330 in that case since I can get the HomeBase 2 with it, and that will also set me up for future outdoor cams :)
Also, do you know if the Google Nest mini can be used as a chime with the HB2?
@ArronsAdventures S330 is a good choice especially with a HB3. They do work with both alexa and Google - not sure about the mini though (I'm sure it will) - i'd recommend you ask this on our Facebook group where someone will definitely know facebook.com/share/g/tFGVx8jFzJRGnGCX/
@ArronsAdventures we also have regional discounts codes if you're interested - which country are you in?
Is the e340 compatible with homebase 2?
@@willemmulderful Works Independently: The Video Doorbell E340 can operate independently once it's connected to your home wireless router. You have multiple options to receive notifications and hear the doorbell ring. These include using a traditional doorbell chime (if available), a separately sold eufy Security doorbell chime, or an Amazon Alexa Echo Show device.
Works with eufy Security HomeBase (Optional): The Video Doorbell E340 is also compatible with the eufy Security HomeBase 2 or S380 HomeBase (sold separately). In this mode, the video doorbell detects motion at your porch and allows you to answer the door from anywhere. Video clips can be stored in the built-in storage of your eufy Security HomeBase. When someone rings the doorbell, people in the house will be notified.
Bit of constructive feedback - it's quite confusing when you refer to both models as "this one". I'd suggest calling them by "the S model" and the "new E model" just to be clear to viewers what exactly you're talking about.
Agreed - it's an old video which needs redoing!
Stop saying this one that one give the name 340 or 330 don't know which one your speaking about left hand right hand i don't know
Yep understood - the E340 is in my RIGHT hand (left side of screen as you look at TV) 👈
Yes, very confusing.
Bro calm down or you can go buy both and compare yourself.
@@mackin800also the 340 has sharper edges. Not hard to tell the difference.
Alternatively in post just put text on screen with the model number to avoid any confusion.
hi thanks for this - how secure is the physical doorbell - my front door is on a lane with no front garden so worried about it being removed by the local scallys
It could potentially be forced off - some owners have used a metal strap screwed over the doorbell to make it more difficult. Amazon sell metal cases which the doorbell would sit inside which would give more protection against theft
thank you for the quick reply - is there a special screw like ring doorbell that holds it in place or does it just click into the wall holder thanks again @@eufysecuritycameraowners4795
Why remove the adjustable bottom camera. I hate when companies remove functionality.
I guess it's the old 'no part is the best part' theory - less moving parts means less to fail
ive got the 2k and chime kit ready to go back to Amazon. no matter how many times i tried it just wouldnt load up the zonal motion detection section where you draw out the parts you dont wish it to scan. ive read so many reports of this function also not working very well. can anyone confirm if this works or not please?
You may have activity zones mixed up with privacy zones - this video explains the difference

which one has better battery?
Hard to say at the moment as the E340 has only been up a month and not fully discharged yet (its about 75%) - I used to get 2-3 months out of the S330. As for recharging, the E340 is easier due to the removable battery. Having a 2nd battery to replace means no down time unlike the S330
@@eufysecuritycameraowners4795
So you get about 3 months battery life on E340? Is that with the leds on top and bottom on at night ?
And how many detections on average per day?
What do you think about the sharpness in daylight and when its dark.
Looks like the older S330 model has better video quality, looks more sharp and bright.
Was told the S330 doorbell not compatible with HB3 is this true? Is E340 compatible with HB3?
Both s330 & e340 are HB3 compatible
Found out only the Battery S330 is compatible the Wired S330 is not compatible, naming 2 different camera the same is dirty tactic.

Yeah, specifically the wired dual camera is not homebase compatible, for whatever reason - so it only keeps the recordings on the micro SD card in the device. Weird choice by eufy
@eufysecuritycameraowners4795 You act like that is a good thing, naming different products in different categories the same name, why would a company do that? That's just lazy and confusing to consumers.
The most annoying thing is that the doorbell isn’t easy to get out of the mounting plate. 😡
Hi,
i have some question's about the S330 lights below:
1) i don't think these can be activated manually, from the app? Correct?
2) does the nightvision toggle in the app influence these light's behaviour?
For example does this influence coloured vision/recordings, or black & white?
Or other change's?
3) they only seem to shine light when it's really dark, like pitch dark?
Thank you for help/feedback!
Light comes on if dark and you press live view
There is no option to activate manually

Motion detection is unreliable and stops working after 24 hours. They told me the first one was defective and sent another. Same results.
Which model?
Please buy a microphone. This one is rubbish

MISLEADING! EUFY CANNOT BE TRUSTED. EUFY UK DO NOT HELP CUSTOMER. Eufy said, rechargeable battery will last for six months but it only last just over two months. EUFY LIED. WHEN SPOKE WITH EUFY UK, THE stubborn ENGINEER STATED “UP TO SIX MONTHS”
eufy's adverts say 'up to' 6 months
Battery life depends on activity/temperature - why not join out Facebook group eufy Security camera owners and ask other members for tips
I heard the battery could also last longer if motion detector is disabled
@@spektred this is true - if you use the doorbell just to record on button press, you could potentially get over 6 months (temperature dependant)
