Great, thorough, instructions. If you still monitor the comments. I wonder if being a newbie is my problem? I can run Mint in the console, but I can't access it from a browser. IP is there in the summary, during qemu install, there appeared to be a note about not starting qemu services. Any suggestions? No errors in the task cluster log.
There are a few ways to migrate existing virtual machines to another server. It's easier if you're running a cluster, but a quick and dirty way is to run a backup job pointed to a shared network location (or a local drive that you move between the computers) and then run a restore on the other machine.
Would love it if you were to create a video showing how to import an OVA into proxmox. OVA I am trying to import is the Opmantek Virtual Machine. Thanks for the great work so far!
hello sir do you happen to know why my container cant access internet? i try installing wordpress from the template but i cant access the ip address and i cant ping my own gateway do you happen to know whats the problem?
Whenever you deploy a container and docker, you need to make sure that the port mapping (the line that looks like -p 4040:4040 \) is configured correctly. To pass any information to the docker conatiner, you'll need to use the ports defined in that line. Also, depending on which docker image you're using, you might have to adjust firewall settings within dicker or the image itself. What is the container you're trying to run? Also, what version of docker are you using, and on are you running it on a VM or a container?
One thing I was hoping to see was the Ubuntu installation process. I'm new to the VM game and am wondering if I can safely choose the "Erase disk and install Ubuntu" option without it erasing Proxmox? I think some other newbies would wonder the same thing. Great video series overall! I'm going through it with my Proxmox install today.
Hi there. Apologies for the lack of clarity on that. When it's asking to "erase disk" it's actually referring to the virtual hard drive that has been assigned to it in the hardware options. You can choose that option and your ProxMox installation is safe :)
Thanks, i've watched some of you other videos also just to figure out how to add storage in PVE... I'm used to VMWARE so this was new to me.
thank you Mike, I'm brand new to Proxmox and this was very helpful.
Thanks!

That's actually an item on my (ever increasing in length) video to-do list!
