From "The Lost Bunny" by Media Movies & More. A $1.49 DVD I bought in a store called China Dollar located in St. Pete Florida. 1 of 3 cartoons on the DVD.
I just got through watching the subbed version before this. Wooooooow, this is bad. Ive heard stories of people back in the day, taking unknown foreign cartoons, making a hasty dub of in their garage/home and slapping it on a low budget Vhs release, weather they had the rights to distribute the cartoon or not. This must be one of them. I also find it amusing the way the "VA" who did the voice of the puppy kept saying "Bow-wow". Its like they didn't realize it was the kitten's name at first but then eventually realized their mistake, but then kept saying "Bow-wow" at random just to match the lip flaps. Lol. I would love to see some studio make a professional dub for this, and put it on a service like Netflix. That way kids in the west can see this little gem.
After watching this with my friend he asked me "Is he saying 'Beef-ball'?" And i actualy honest to god accidently replied "No, he said he wants the meat-baw." ROFL
I just went and watched the Russian version with subtitles. WHAT DID THEY DO?? It was a decent cartoon with an actual plot. This version just makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Still awesome though. AH WANT DAT BEEFBAW!

Honestly it ain't terrible really. It's more so charming & interesting than anything else. It's like a genuine attempt by some independent station to try & make content for their small town.
I just came here after looking up bad animations and was surprised to see this, the original is so much better. Half the things they say is so weird and I love how they managed to mess up the title when its actually called "A kitten named woof"
Man, this version has been butchered from the original cartoon :/ Search for "The Kitten Who Was Called Woof" and watch monsieuricon's subtitled versions of the original russian toons... Much better, and you'll be shocked to find how different the story is :/
Is it me or is the dubbing very, very strange? The syncing is WAY OFF, the voices shit, and the sound quality of the voices is like, much sharper than the background music. Is this even in English originally?
