'68 - Without Any Words (Official Music Video)

- I shot this video after finding my old VHS camcorder that I used to take on tour in my earlier (much earlier) days of touring. As I captured all the old footage onto my computer, I found all the glitches and dropped frames to be quite beautiful. So I decided to shoot a video in which these elements could really stand out and be the focus. As I went along I discovered other ways to make different types of glitches that came naturally to the process. For example, shooting with a cheap surveillance camera or filming the screen of a computer that’s playing the footage. So these ingredients clearly set the precedent of just making the video vibe like that of a police case montage, or something similar.

1 year later and i literally just found this song through Discover Weekly a couple of minutes ago
@@einarhodnelanddaae9755 seen they are going on tour with korn. Would rather see these guys headline TBH lol. Instantly fell in love
Tell tour friends of 68
@@karledwards1671 did it
@@einarhodnelanddaae9755 nice!
Wheres the recognition this group deserves
We're it
But its important to me
Riiight?! It's insane to me that they are not bigger!
This song makes me cry EVERY fucking time. That last line "I wish you were here...yeah...that's all" just... every fucking time.
@@dgates6165 This is probably their most accessible song on an otherwise really challenging and musically dexterous album. You rarely get big by being musically challenging these days
Tell your friends of 68 and be a true fan help them
I’ve seen Josh live in Norma Jean, The Chariot, A Rose By Any Other Name, and soon, 68’.
Legendary song writer for sure.
I hope you hear my song
I'd rather burn out than to fade away
All the damage is done
The "dramatic one" has gone away
And without any words I can hear your name
It's a different verse but the song is the same
I've paid my dues but the bills all remain for us
Never wanted to lie
But tell 'em I'm doing fine
Tell 'em I'll be okay
And maybe I'll be alright
The saddest songs that I wrote are how I wish you were here
The saddest songs that I wrote are how I wish you were here
The saddest songs that I wrote
And without any words I can hear your name
It's a different verse but the song is the same
I've paid my dues but my bills all remain for us
I said all my soul
I laid it out on the radio
Oh how I wish you could say
"Well done" to me
And without any words I can hear your name
Its a different verse but the song is the same
I've paid my dues but the bills all remain for us
I hope for the best but I'm anxious to see
This revolution is small but it matters to me
I wanted it all but you wanted to breathe
I can never understand why you wanted to bleed for us
All I've ever known is another world where I am not alone
Will my heart just allow you to breathe
I wish you were here, yeah, that's all
This song got me while I was going thru a break up with my kids mom. She cheated on me with my best friend. this shit speaks chapters to that scenerio
Josh Scogin is a legend. How are these dudes NOT hugely famous?!
Cuz of us lazy fans
@@karledwards1671 I promote them and show them to people ALL the time actually. No, I'm not setting the world on fire with my wild success lol but I wouldn't consider myself a lazy fan by any means.
Nirvana vibes coming from this
I'd rather burn out than to fade away" feels like a reference to kurt cobain i think. kurt wrote that on his suicide note. i believe josh was channeling kurt for this one.
I’m sure of that!
Kurt got it from a Neil Young song.
@@kyledutton6550 makes total Sense. Thank you kyle
I get a little Nirvana vibe here
Through all the Chariot years, this sounds the most soulful........!
It sounds the most lived, the most real!
Hands down my favourite band. I regularly shout to myself while blasting ‘68 in my car while getting looks of approval
Adam I do the same 👊
This song sounds like if Nirvana had a next album. Incredible.
I'm glad you said this because that's the vibe I got when I first heard it.
Just watched these guys at the house of blues. I had never heard of them before and quite frankly, they impressed the hell out of me. They definitely have a new fan!
You have a kurt cobain sound about you. (This is a high compliment)
This is one of the best videos you've ever done.
The first album was so good.... miss the rock. There’s so few people doing it right.
Josh, you are the most talented person ever. This video is so sick!
Been waiting for a video for this. So good.
Freaking awesome
Instead of all the sad songs that I wrote, I wish you were here.
this is an insanely good song, from an insanely talented band.
Masterpiece
This song is very beautiful. It's definitely a tear jerker if you listen to it enough times. Thank you, Josh and Nikko for being a defining band for me. Much Love!
A suitably "68" video indeed
I'm so glad emerson barrett brought me here
Ayee
Band should be called '92 with this sound.
Like This Song :)
These guys put on a great concert. Have seen them twice at louder than life. Love these guys
Saw them in 2019 in the basement of a bar in Cincinnati. Like 100 people there. Blew the doors off the place. Fuckin amazing. Listener opened and was equally as amazing.
White tie, black jacket
... sad song that I wrooooOOOOOOOOOO00000000TE ... that's what hooked me on the first listen, made me listen again and got me into the band. Sometimes it's just a small detail, some perfect little moment in a song that makes all the difference ... :).
I just saw u guys in El Paso u guys put on an awesome show which u would’ve played longer
Love the effects, the song, and most anything that Mr. Scogin creates! Fine job and thanks for keeping me entertained!
Can’t wait to see y’all again!!!
I love this💛
This is good, Josh should sing more, it’s something a little different than what he usually does; (scream).
But he screams with SUCH passion and it is unmatched. I like his singing a lot, but I could never get sick of his screaming!
Quite the transition from The Chariot to 68, both awesome bands.
Tyler Lynch don’t forget Norma Jean!
@@xstrikegentlyx5716 No, don't forget Luti-Kriss ... Body of God and Patiently Philadelphia are such awesome songs!
I don't know why, but this song makes me feel so fucking bad.
I saw y'all for the first time at the Worcester Palladium. Never heard of y'all before, but I was instantly enraptured by the first song and the passion from the fans. I've rarely been this delighted by an opener but I'm glad to say I picked up a copy of double viper and a shirt and plan to listen to y'all more
Same here! Saw them open for Chiodos at the Palladium. Lost my fucking mind when they did Touretts by Nirvana.
Been a fan ever since!
a Josh by any other name

Still in awe from the show you played in Berlin in 2016. Come back with a new album and tear everything apart again please!
really neat video idea! love the aesthetic! Great job Josh!
Long Live Scogin
Why did they change drummers? :o
Saw them open up at a show a few years ago. Never heard of them before but have been listening to them since. Outstanding!!!
Спасибо!
Awesome song. Awesome vid
I know it will be a little exaggeration but I would like to spend my life with someone who loves this song.
This music sounds the most lived through. It sounds more true than the chariot and I love the chariot! These two guys accomplish the feel a full band tries and often fumbles with. My hats off to them!
You guys fucking rocked at LTL!!🤘
"I wish you were here, yeah, that's all" I cry every fucking time.
The arsonist has oddly shaped feet
I hope you hear my song
I'd rather burn than to fade away. All the damage is done... the dramatic one...
When I first heard this, I thought it was a major hit from a huge 70s band
I just saw you guys at The Signal in Chatt. You guys are definitely a band you can feel
hey, gj gettin' in shape!
noice
You ARE the man Josh! Had a great time seeing you in Chicago over the winter!!! Can't wait to see '68 again soon!!!
Cobra Lounge in March!
come to France !!
❤️
Just made my night
Nirvana the white stripes and the chariot had a baby and they called it 68
nice
Awesome video! I was thrown off at the beginning because it sounds like they say my name (my name is Sheridan) at 0:02
Любимая песня с альбома
I sure hope this Kirk Coban wanna be project is why the chariot had to end
Whoever he is, Kirk Coban would be proud.
Man I love The Chariot, but I'm glad he moved on from it. It's better to make music you're passionate in than to churn out garbage for money.
@@0ffaI Firstly, I don't think anything Josh has done could be considered garbage. Secondly, I'm fairly certain if it was about the money he would have stuck with Norma Jean...
