This is my 4th video in a series of lectures about Rheumatology...All of them are in a playlist named “Rheumatology”. • Rheumatology
Taking a detailed medical history from a Rheumatology patient is critical because rheumatological diseases can affect any body system (extra-articular manifestation).
In this video, we will talk about quick hints on Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic lupus erythromatosis (SLE), gouty arthritis, and others.
Books that I used:
Sapira's art and science of bedside diagnosis amzn.to/2DAQk8O
Hutchison's clinical methods amzn.to/2WZ0fOI
Don't forget the classic rheumatology triad: joint pain, stiffness, and loss of function.

I found your channel as I tried to get a little rheumatology refresher and I find your humor and Snark quite hysterical and very enjoyable and appreciate the way that you make things logical. This is how I try to approach teaching my patients as well. If you work in central Indiana we would be good partners. 🙌🏼
Thank you so much!
Amazing series on rheumatology - bringing it to life for me! I’m not a doctor I’m a pharmaceutical advisor who is hoping to move to a role in rheumatology medical affairs and I’m actually understanding so much! Repetition will get me there but your humour makes it so much more memorable 😂 thank you!

More than 1 hour is indicative of RA while less than 1 hour is OA. Maybe I ask why the cut off point is 1 hour?
in 20:05-why can it not be anti-phospholipid syndrome?(granted-not rheumatic, but still)obviously labs are needed
Thank you 🙏🏻
My pleasure 😇

"When you hear hoof beats, think horses not zebras" is my least favorite saying. As a patient with a yet diagnosed problem, it has been my nemesis. Doctors are constantly throwing the most common answers at me and refusing to look or think outside the box. I have tried to tell so many that I am not your normal patient. I have a history of being the odd one out or the unusual patient for years. I nearly died from an acute saddle pulmonary embolism in my 30s. I have several issues with my spine that are not common in people of my age. I am constantly being told that I am too young for my medical history. Doctors just seem to refuse to order simple lab work without a fight. A rheumatologist once let me talk for about 10 minutes about my symptoms and history, asked about 3 questions, did a very cursory physical exam, and told me that my problem was rheumatological because my ANA was negative. He told me that I would probably need to learn to live with my symptoms without a diagnosis. This is why it takes so many patients years to get a diagnosis.
The holly intro is back again
Thank you 😊
OMG! How one should memorise and remember all of these?!! :((

Thank you 😊
I can do the same thing on the internet and help more people.
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis That's a great answer! ;)
You are a HeRo ♥️
Thank you so much 😊
4:45 no, i disagree. I think free advice from the internet can be very good, but you have to look at many sources, be super critical and use common scientific sense.
5:06 i paid nothing, so i also disagree with you on this one, your videos are like a pile of rtx3090s in 20/11/2020. Valuable, top shelf and there isn't enough of them.
Thank you so much!
