Absolutely fantastic! Ishiki sensei's Dojo is more than just a Kobudo school; it's a tight-knit family. Ishiki sensei and Miyoko-san are mentors beyond being teachers. Their dedication and the amazing community they've cultivated deserve sincere gratitude ❤
What is the name of the weapon at 12:30 that looks like a Guan Dao? I didn't know about this weapon in Okinawa. Is it maybe related to Chinese Kung Fu?
I'm not sure, but I expect it is a weapons related to protection of Shuri Castle during the Ryukyu Kingdom. Very likely to be a Chinese influenced weapon.
Ishiki sensei and his wife Miyoko sensei are both fabulous... I recommend their dojo in Okinawa 🌴👏🏻

Sensei ishiki come down to Australia most years for an annual kobudo camp in Wollongong, it is very interesting to learn and see what he does.

Awesome video. What a cool dude.
Hi! I have trained with Sensei Ishiki before and he called it the Naginata which is a very elegant weapon. Hope this helps (:
@@sensei2187 That's cool. That sounds like a fun training. I should have figured it was called Naginata, but I thought it looked a little different.
