- Legendary British comedy producer/writer, David Croft, discusses John Inman and the early days of Are You Being Served with long-time writing partner, Jeremy Lloyd from 1999 interview in Salute to British Comedy on American Public Television.
Thank you David Croft for making generations laugh out loud and grin from ear to ear with the legendary comedies you (with Jeremy Lloyd & Jimmy Perry) brought us. None of todays comedy sitcoms have made me cry with laughter as much as ''Allo Allo'',It Ain't 'Alf Hot Mum, and Dad's Army.. You were a true legend.
Rip David croft Jimmy perry and Jeremy Lloyd excellent writers x
These Gents are genuine Geniuses in English television History..You truly could never get a way with that kind of Comedy now. True pioneers in every since, love this show.
I felt this show is much more than a show , dare I say, many angels beyond helped make this work behind the scenes
Jeremy Lloyd was a wonderful presence. Fascinating voice and graceful manner. He stole scenes in numerous tiny cameos. A pity he never got a larger recurring role on TV. I wonder why he didn't consider himself for a role in a sitcom such as AYBS?
I'm related to Jeremy via the Lloyd connection and all the way over in Australia. It pleased me greatly to know that a relative was in actual fact quite the well known comedian.
Grandioze humor die tijdloos is van deze mannen.
These aee the same gentleman that created Dad's Army,
Where is the rest of this interview? I need it for a paper I'm writing
