That moment when CGB realizes he missed lethal against mono-red to show off how one can discard 2 cards to thirst instead of just the enchantment. For those of you who missed it he had enough cards in graveyard, as well as the extra blue source in hand to cast a second shark typhoon before casting the Epiphany
@@henryreinhold9097 Agreed. I just find it amusing that he tried to pass on some knowledge like a good content creator, and it's what caused the loss. No good deed goes unpunished.
He didn't miss lethal with that. He could still do it, and the card in the graveyard actually didn't matter. He had 9 cards in the graveyard after the discard, 4 mana. 1 for typhoon + 5 cards, 3 for epiphany + 4 cards.
@@MarcoVanotti He had enough cards in the graveyard to cover the colorless mana costs sure, but he only had two untapped blue left on the field, and he needed 3. That third one would have been covered by the blue source he discarded to the thrist. Edit : Disregard, I relooked, and he did already have that 3rd blue source already on the field.
@@O.C.D.A.R After the Thirst for Meaning, CGB had 3 untapped blue lands: one Island and two Tidechannel Pathways, plus one Swamp. He could have payed 1 blue + 5 graveyard cards for the Typhoon, then 2 blue + 1 swamp + 4 graveyard cards for the Ephiphany. So I would say he missed lethal twice :P
Auto tapper is annoying because it's just good enough that most of the time it doesn't need to be babied and you can ignore it. And then it fucks you when it matters. There should be an option for "ask me for confirmation when auto tapper is unsure."
Could someone explain to me why the Torbran didn't kill both the 3/3 and the 1/1 blocking it in the last video? Did CGB's opponent just order it wrong? Like, maybe they ordered the 3/3 first, and the 3/3 got both of Torb's two damage dealt to it, and _then_ Torb's bonus was applied to it, killing it. Whereas with the 1/1 first, the 1/1 would have taken 1 damage, the 3/3 would have taken another damage, and the +2 bonus would have done the other 2 damage necessary to kill the 3/3. Is that what happened?
I think you were so focussed on needing to find another epiphany that you missed lethal in game 1 at 11:58 against mono red. After the Thirst for Meaning you have 4 untapped lands and 9 cards in your graveyard to cast second sharknado into epiphany for 13 additional flying damage and a total of 25 damage in the epiphany turn
What was so bad with the autotapper when he complained about it? Why did he want double blue? To bluff a Saw It Coming/Neutralize in hand? Or something else I'm missing? I figure it just saw that he only needed 1 blue mana to play the only available spell he had (mystical dispute) so left that open, and left a black open to bluff having something else (dead weight? heartless act etc.).
I guess it can bluff having a whirlwind denial/mystical dispute in hand + saw it coming foretold if you have the two blue up, but didn't seem to make a difference anyway fortunately.
I think the biggest problem I see with you playing this deck is tunnel vision. In the first game you got so focused on making very specific plays that you didn’t see some of the less obvious and more effective lines (like playing the typhoon into epiphany by exiling more of the graveyard). I see you making similar mistakes in a few of the other games, where you seem to rely more on the lands for mana than your graveyard (which ends up mostly just sitting there unused in a deck designed to use it to its full potential). With the nest in my experience I’ve had the best results by playing the way you did in some of your older nest videos, by really exiling the yard and only tapping lands minimally to get the colored sources. Manual taps for the win! Anyways really good video! Keep it up!
I just try your deck, you need your brain up! Its is fun, complex some time you forget something, but this worth a try. i Love it! i just mising one nest and one typhoon. so less probability to get them. i replace it with one Shatter and one Extinction.
It's worse when you realize he could have won that game if he didn't show the viewers how to discard two cards to thirst instead of just the 1 enchantment. He could have used the blue source he discarded to play that second shark typhoon before the epiphany.
Super wish you would go back to the old way and actually show your stats at least do some afterthoughts again and wrap up the deck changes you would or wouldn't make you're not even telling us if you think the duck is actually competitive at the end or not anymore what are you doing to us
