I loved this!! I always get criticized for taking care of my husband. I love my kids with my soul but my husband is the one that's going to stick around after my kids grow up and move on to form their families. A therapist told me that that's why you see a lot of divorces happening with empty nesters. Because they no longer have those kids that kept them together. Also the caring for me. Some friends tell me "no te sientes mal ir a comer y que tus hijos estén en la escuela?" They make it seem like I starve my kids. I used to feel like a bad mom. But I'm the one that cares for an entire household so yes I need some self care and yes I will go and eat out and I will have some ice cream by myself without my kids killing each other in the background. Therapy has helped me a lot to be able to understand this. In our culture la mujer muchas veces es criada para ser sirvienta y estar a la orden cuando los hijos o marido ocupan algo. Me da gusto que mi esposo lo entiende. El hizo entender a mis hijos que los fines de semana "mamá no cocina mamá no limpia la casa que ese es trabajo de ellos"
my mom has always told me that your kid comes first because a man comes and goes but your kid is forever. she put her kids first, and in a way i see why because my dad was a terrible husband and father so she had to be both. when i got pregnant and had my son i saw a video of you blanca having this same discussion and you explained in a way that made me want to put my partner and relationship first without taking anything away from my son. and i think it’s so much easier to do when your partner is worth it but unfortunately with me history repeated itself because my partner ended up having another kid the same age as mine with his best friend and he still talks to women to this day. hopefully one day i find someone who’s worth it enough to choose us and our family

I personally do not feel children ruin a relationship. I put my kids first and I do not regret it. One day they will go and then my husband and I will have our time again. I feel that if it ruins a relationship its bcs either both partners are immature or one is. Usually the men. Sometimes the women. Humans go through stages in life. Infancy, early childhood, childhood, preteen, teens, young adult ect. Each stage entails certain learning and fun. If a stage is not fully lived it is carried to the next stage, hense the immaturity of many adults. I enjoyed my young adult life. Went out, partied away. I married at age 26, first pregnancy was at age 28. I am almost 39 with 4 kids. Twins included. I always put them first and my husband is fine with it. He never fights me for it. Why? Bcs we both enjoyed life and when we married we were ready to enjoy our family .....our kids. Don't know 🤔 my opinion.

I don't have kids but I see what Gabbi means...because in the end your kids leave and it's just your partner and yourself so communicating and making time for each other is a must!! To the girl who's husband is being a jerk....girl you deserve better. My ex was like that and it was the worse feeling ever. He's not going to change and you definitely do not have to deal with him. I hope you are ready to leave him soon...yes it will be hard but you won't regret it. And when he comes back begging you to come back because he's "going to change"...don't believe him because if he wanted to change he would have changed from the beginning. Same! Two pregnancies out of 3 I was really really sick los 30 lbs each time! I was so skinny after! 3 year later almost and I’m still struggling to gain my weight back.

Thank you girls for doing this podcast, i am a mother of 5 I am 34 years old, and I am constantly putting my kids first , my oldest is 15, and I do not allow his to basically take care of his siblings because he deserves to be a kid. But sometimes I do deserve time for myself. To keep myself healthy for my children. Like gabby said I will do anything for my kids, but if I don’t take care of myself then how will I take care of them. And sometimes that’s what I need to hear, because others can make me sound like I’m a bad mom, for wanting to go have a girls day with my girlfriends. But hearing you ladies just means a lot. So I was pregnant with Blanca had my 12/11 baby last year and currently pregnant with Gaby. About to be 26 weeks preggo. Lowkey scared AF to have two little ones. But I have 6 year old and struggled so much to have #2 had 4 miscarriages in between so I thankful. And also after 2 boys I am finally having a baby girl.
I was about to say the vibes were weird but they said they haven’t been sleeping good so yea they do look tired🥺 thanks for giving us content love yall🫶🏻
Listening to what Gaby said literally made Me cry 😭 my kids are getting to that age where they can choose to leave any day. It hurts but it’s part of life. And that’s when you think about Also taking care of your relationship with your husband or yourself

We went to church class for months and gaby is correct.. even church says your partner is first bc one day your kids will leave to be with they own family they will not choose you. Your there to love and guide them and hope for best for your kids and they gone BUT your partner will always be there.

I’m with Gabby on this one! I have 3 kids and two out of three were the worse pregnancies. I was so sick I lost 30 lbs with each pregnancy. My daughters pregnancy made me glow and I gained 10 lbs, but it was nowhere near my boy pregnancies. Not everyone has the same experiences. I was miserable pregnant with my boys. 🥺😭
I totally agree boy pregnancies are so much different my daughter's wasn't as bad but these 3 boy pregnancies omgg they've been the death of me (sarcastically saying) lol
I had thought about what Gabbie said a while back and it’s true. We have to focus on our partner, because at some point our children are going to leave our nest and all we are gonna have left is our partner. Each person and each pregnancy is different, and all parents are different. Can’t compare!! Gabby and Blanca are amazing and each will do what’s best for each of their own child. Hope everything goes well for Gabby and can’t wait to see the little shrimp 🦐! We/most moms put our kids first, and sometimes it’s bad. I realize that after my first pregnancy and I kind of change some things. It’s hard not to do everything to make our kids happy.
I will always put my kids first , if my husband can’t understand that I will always be there for my kids and their needs come before his he can walk period ! ❤

The Catholic Church has change from back in the day, I remember 7 years ago when I went to my classes before we got marry. The priest talked about why MOST people get divorced . He said, couples forget each other in the marriage, they stop giving each other attention and love once their kids are born. Most moms start to make their kids a priority and they forget about her spouse. But also the spouse instead of helping her with the baby so they can have time for each other. He starts looking for attention someone else, and once the kids grow up they make their lives and the parents stay alone and now they don’t longer have anything in common. The priest told us, god is giving you Children to complete your happiness, not for anything else.

I used to have 3 jobs, I hardly saw my kids and I’m actually greatful now I work from home and I pick them up from school and drop them off. Como dicen there is always light at the end of the tunnel. We may not have everything we want but we have everything we need and we are happy with that for now bc I know God will help us grow❤

I’m currently living with my partner and stepdaughter and since I moved to San Jose (was living in LA) I feel like the move I made, making our apartment a home, loving and caring for my daughter the best I can and other things I have done have not been valued or acknowledged. I have built so much anger and resentment towards him. I have communicated MANY times my feelings and I have not seen any consistent or permanent changes. I know I deserve better but I’m literally alone here (my entire family is back home) I don’t know how to even start alone in a place that is still very unknown. I feel so lonely and depress. That’s so true though what gabby said cause me and husband had our little girl and we only focused on her only for the first year and we forgot about our relationship and my mom was the one that told us you need to focus on your relationship and she is always there to watch her so we focus on us as a marriage and also to focus on our selfs individuals it’s so important to focus on yourself as well

Me here with my second pregnancy lol Had a boy 3yrs ago & my pregnancy was great. No symptoms, just glowing. I am currently pregnant with my second boy & this pregnancy was totally different then my first one. Nausea, vomiting, couldnt keep down my prenatals. I just enter my second trimester & i feel a little better. But still get Nausea here & there.

Each person and each pregnancy is different, and all parents are different. Can’t compare!! Gabby and Blanca are amazing and each will do what’s best for each of their own child. Hope everything goes well for Gabby and can’t wait to see the little shrimp 🦐! We/most moms put our kids first, and sometimes it’s bad. I realize that after my first pregnancy and I kind of change some things. It’s hard not to do everything to make our kids happy.
I will always put my kids first , if my husband can’t understand that I will always be there for my kids and their needs come before his he can walk period ! ❤
@Xc boo yes girl , Gaby was saying kids leave but a man can cheat and you and leave you too . My priorities are with my kids as a mother even when they are grown I’m always going to be there for them no matter what . And that’s the same thing I see Blanca’s mom doing, she practically moved in with her to help her after baby was born , she travels with her too . No hate just facts !
The Catholic Church has change from back in the day, I remember 7 years ago when I went to my classes before we got marry. The priest talked about why MOST people get divorced . He said, couples forget each other in the marriage, they stop giving each other attention and love once their kids are born. Most moms start to make their kids a priority and they forget about her spouse. But also the spouse instead of helping her with the baby so they can have time for each other. He starts looking for attention someone else, and once the kids grow up they make their lives and the parents stay alone and now they don’t longer have anything in common. The priest told us, god is giving you Children to complete your happiness, not for anything else.

I used to have 3 jobs, I hardly saw my kids and I’m actually greatful now I work from home and I pick them up from school and drop them off. Como dicen there is always light at the end of the tunnel. We may not have everything we want but we have everything we need and we are happy with that for now bc I know God will help us grow❤

I’m currently living with my partner and stepdaughter and since I moved to San Jose (was living in LA) I feel like the move I made, making our apartment a home, loving and caring for my daughter the best I can and other things I have done have not been valued or acknowledged. I have built so much anger and resentment towards him. I have communicated MANY times my feelings and I have not seen any consistent or permanent changes. I know I deserve better but I’m literally alone here (my entire family is back home) I don’t know how to even start alone in a place that is still very unknown. I feel so lonely and depress. But jow unhappy will your children be if they come home to unhappy parents and an unhappy environment, that is not healthy at all!!! I relate to gabbys pregnancy so much. I had not heard about anyone else going through the same thing I did besides gabby. I’m 33 weeks pregnant now & I used to say NO MORE BABIES all of first trimester now I’m considering as well hehehe
For the girl that asked for the advice, like Gaby said it’s hard to give it. Cuz we as women know what we need to do, the fact that we allowed it, it’s our fault. But there is good man out there that is willing to give us the best, but we choose to stay with the 💩. You deserve better
That’s so true though what gabby said cause me and husband had our little girl and we only focused on her only for the first year and we forgot about our relationship and my mom was the one that told us you need to focus on your relationship and she is always there to watch her so we focus on us as a marriage and also to focus on our selfs individuals it’s so important to focus on yourself as well

Had a boy 3yrs ago & my pregnancy was great. No symptoms, just glowing. I am currently pregnant with my second boy & this pregnancy was totally different then my first one. Nausea, vomiting, couldnt keep down my prenatals. I just enter my second trimester & i feel a little better. But still get Nausea here & there.
