in my schooling age when we play cricket,other bowlers uses Brett lee,Akhtar,Mcgrath and even Ambrose action to bowl and i used to bowl with Srinath action.i've always inspired by him.really proud of being a Srinath fan.

Srinidhi KV the thing is Shane bond at the other is also destroying Indian batsman in that series ,,, we lost this series but it helped the team to check it's mistakes before going into 2003 world cup

indian movies Shane bond actually only played 3 of the games of which two were the ones India won. India were beaten by New Zealand’s lesser bowers (Mills was very young)

During his peak years . He was the lone pace ranger during those days and sad to he got very less credit for his contribution to the team. Simpler terms he was underrated. Top of all he is a true gentleman !!

For god sake...This guy was up there with 140-145km speed most of the times..n definitely bowled above 150km during the peak of his career.

His bowling action was like hot knife running smoothly through butter.I loved it.
Srinath started his career at the age of 10, he loved fast bowling was inspired by Imran Khan WasimAkram WaqarYounis bowling style including our great kapil dev n chetan Sharma, he was selected by gundappa vishwanath from his best performance in Mysore Vs Belgaum Karnataka Vs Maharashtra. he was in the national team since 1990 but couldn't play a game as the coach & captain kept him in reserve but in 1991 he played his first match by picking early wickets rest is history . he played his first world cup in 1992 picking early wickets performing well. selectors wanted him for every test match n one-day match always . 1996 1999 worldcups were memorable where he destroyed the opponents with his fast bowling . by 2002 his performance was deteorating so the board had to make a call on his selection somehow he was selected in the 2003 worldcup in 15member squad. Srinath played few matches in his last worldcup & got few wickets too ending his career with the last match which was the finals between India & Australia . Srinath was over joyed with the crowd in that match he performed well though India couldn't win but he was given a decent farewell after that he joined ICC as a 3rd umpire served them for 10years since 6years he & Anilkumble are in the karnataka cricket boards members . Srinath will always be remembered for decent fast bowling

The reason why Srinath isn't talked about more is because the rest of the Indian bowling attack was shit and couldn't support him.

My one of memorable series before 2003 world cup.still remember all the matches still in my mind.those days I don't have any cable connection used to listen live commentary on my radio
Same with me,I used to watch cricket matches in shops because many shopkeepers were having cable connectiont those days,even though this series was taking place in winter season yet I used to leave the home and went their owing to watch these matches.
When cricket matches were live talecasted on DD nation i eagerly used to wait for many days to watch cricket,now IPL and too much cricket is the main reason for the unexitement of watching cricket matches.

Javagal Srinath is only world class fast bowler India has produced. He was consistent with his performance throughout his career. My only concern is why he did not master the Yorkers in the death overs!
Kapil Dev was also a world class fast bowler. Zaheer wasn't the World's best but for an Asian team he was still pretty good. And right now India has the world's best overall pace bowling attack.
Mohammad Shami is better than Javagal Srinath. To take more wickets the bowler needs to play many matches so Bowling Average and Strike Rate that's why Mohammad Shami is better than Javagal Srinath given the fact this is a Batsman Era unlike Srinath's time which was a Bowler Era

@@munmunpareek this was after his Rotator cuff injury due to which he didn't play around a couple of years he always remains as the fastest Indian bowler with a record of 157 Kmph and world's fastest Vegetarian bowler and many of his fast deliveries were not recorded as there were no lasers during those times like how they record every ball today

India's best pacer. Very simple and humble and respectful person never used to show off and all. I am not a professional cricketer but used to play cricket and always used to copycat his bowling style.
A good fast bowler in simple words. Also want to remind that how he bowled on that innings where kumble got 10 wickets against Pakistan. 😀

I fondly remember this series, albeit a disastrous one for India, just before the 2003 World Cup. This was sort of a swansong series for Srinath- he was at the peak of his abilities, bowling the hard length & not giving room outside the off stump. Not too full to drive, not too short or wide to cut or pull.

An excellent bowler... as many said an under sung hero.... He should have got so many more wickets... I remember those games of late 90s, where Srinath and Prasad combo used to open the spell of 10-12 overs..... Batsman would be cautious against Srinath and wouldn't take any chances... Srinath spell would have put much pressure on the batsmen, who will take their chances against Prasad... Prasad will go for runs, but will be lucky to get some wickets in the process... The same will repeat in the death overs as well...... Srinath will end up with just 30-40 runs in his 10 over spell, but would have gone wicketless.. Prasad would have gone for some 50-60 runs but managed some wickets..
