I have to be honest. If someone gave me a cutting board like that, I would hang it on the wall in my kitchen. No one would touch that thing with a knife. That thing is gorgeous. Edit: also, your videos are extremely well made and I'm glad you don't put a bunch of background music on them. This is like ASMR. I've never seen your content before. I clicked on this and sat down to do some paperwork with this in the background and I couldn't get my paperwork done, I had to set it aside because this video had my full attention for the duration. This cutting board design is a distinctly refreshing departure from the run-of-the-mill products we see so much of these days. Not that they are poorly designed and executed by any means, but this version, complete with the unusual pattern of additional wood rounds encased in epoxy certainly, is an idea that takes making cutting board to a new level of creativity. And, it certainly doesn't hurt to have killer toys to make it happen, either. Well done, my good man!
You clearly know nothing about what makes a good and useful cutting board. I bet you have a wall of untouched copper cookware also. This only looks pretty. It would not be very functional.

That's the thing. It is certainly a beautiful piece, but how do you make it into a cutting board you could safely use for cutting food stuffs. It is as well, like maky have mentioned, an elegant and very watchable video. The weird thing is that you seem to be the only one who brings up the fact that the epoxy, and probably other unidentified caulks and glues, would not be that healthy to cut into your dinner. Which make me wonder whether people watch these videos because they actually want to learn to make something functional, or just for the pleasure of watching somebodycrafty something?

This is the coolest looking cutting board I have ever seen. Love the way you filmed it, it's functional art. You glued the bigger round parts with wood glue and then you did the little round parts with a clear glue and you sprayed something. Can you share what you did there? Was it super glue? What was the spray? Great work, I am inspired to make something similar after watching this video. Thanks.

Using the resin will lock it all in for a long time. Bummer you do all that great work and then go through all the editing to have people turn around and rain on your project. First off, it's really pretty. I do have a couple of concerns though. 1. Once you apply epoxy it can no longer be used as a cutting board, unless you like plastic shards in your food. 2. You mixed edge grain and face grain, I wonder if wood movement is going to be an issue. Maybe not given the small surface area, but I have seen edge and face grain boards crack over time.

@@avswood even as a serving board, you need to make sure you use an epoxy that is rated for food contact. There are a few out there, definitely wouldn't go with epoxy as a cutting surface though.

Epoxy is soft material, and cuts easily.

Thank you) I used superglue with an activator for temporary fixation, after pouring with resin everything is firmly held.
