The Faces of a Young Gorbals Part II

These are the faces of children of the Gorbals in Glasgow, Scotland.
Glasgow in the 1930's was the most densely populated city in the world. The tenements in the Gorbals in the south-side, the soo-side, Glasgow was the poorest and roughest part, but, filled with many recent Irish and other immigrants, it developed the cooperative nature necessary to survive tenement life with such large families, often from 4 to 12 weans.
These are the children of those hardy families, the weans, collected from countless class photos spanning the decades from the early 1900's to the 1990's.
