Good to see you back, life does get in the way of things doesn't it?

Surprise story: I have an old Samick strat copy. Bad intonation. Used to drive me bonkers as a boy. Has fret buzz on a low action, which the guitar really had as it came set up from the store. I guess it was because it helps with the intonation issue (which I knew nothing of at the time). Also, I remember that the bridge was in the weirdest configuration back then. Low-E was far back, then the next 4 were basically level, then high-E was far forward. Open chords played in tune but it all sharped when going up the neck. I was warned not to touch the bridge. Later, when I did, I became aware of the intonation problem. Always thought the neck was bad, but recently I looked into it more closely and the fret spacing seems fine. It's the bridge that's too close to the nut for 25.5 scale. Resetting the bridge is daunting and not something I'm keen on digging into. I removed the spring at the back of the low E and G saddle, and cut the length of the low E screw to let the saddle go farther back. Also have the G string at a lower action than everybody else. This has it _almost_ playing in tune now. But I'm out of room on the low E. It has box saddles, so I figure I will file the back of the low-E saddle. But I also thought maybe I'd just put a shorter saddle on for the low E and G. I saw some like that from PRS I think. Any thoughts? I like the guitar because it was my first and other than the tuning problem it sounds nice. You made a point of talking about the Rosewood fretboard in this video. That guitar has a Rosewood neck! As a kid I used to think it was tacky and cheap that the fretboard was fake and stained on when I realized it. Little did I know it was no bad thing. I found your channel by your IYV reviews. I got 2 IYVs on your (and ross') recommendation. Nice things but the tuners are garbage! Oh one last thing. I found a brand called "Iberica" guitars which are made in Portugal. Seems like they are cheaper but nice like Seagull maybe? Now that you're in UK, keep an eye out for them. That's it! Nice videos, I've appreciated many of them.

The comment is far too long for most viewers to read. Be brief!

Love your reviews. Would like some reviews on budget 3/4 size electric guitars. Grandkids are getting old enough to start guitar if they wish.

I don't find too many smaller ones to recommend... most are quite poor.

Yes. That is my problem as well @@FlowforthInstruments . And the ones I do, are a bit pricey.

I was looking at one of these earlier & came here for a review, really useful info thanks. What I know about guitars you could write on a spiders knee cap! Hoping to learn a bit...

Most guitars will sound good if you plug into the right equipment

Missed your vids but real life comes first. I assumed it was a three-quarter scale length until the very end when you said it wasn't. I feel like a shorter scale length is a bit easier to play, hence better for beginners, but I know not everyone agrees with that.

Depends on your size - 3/4 for big hands can be a nightmare.

mediocre tuning machine and pickups are easy to replace and fairly cheap and not hard to do ... and good experience . Same for First Act guitars in the USA is bought used for maybe $25-30 in pretty good shape, but need a setup. That is YOUR job to learn on UA-cam....

How about reviewing a Woodstock guitar built in the Ukraine?
