    I turned off the breaker but still managed to blow a fuse on the motherboard inside my air handler (I have a heat pump). Thanks to an honest HVAC company, they told me where to find the fuse. They also said I should pull the emergency cutoff jumper (located near the air handler) before working on it, even if just for doing the thermostat.

    I have the same wire setup, brand new home. Should the power connector setting be on or off? I get no power no Wi-Fi all the time M25 code, everything works fine. Is anyone else experiencing this?

    I have a white wire going to an E (heat, guessing emergency heat) and jumping to the Aux/W. Can I just wire it into the W instead since there is no E?

      If you look in the video description I put a detailed Wire info and even a graphic. This will help you with the wiring and what it all is. Did you take a picture of your wiring before removing your old Thermostat? Something like this share.getcloudapp.com/6quNEpdx?
      Here is my image for Nest Learning, but might help...See here, share.getcloudapp.com/L1u6P7Xy
      Some systems have separate O and B wires. Some thermostats have an E connector. The E wire turns your emergency heat on or off. Emergency heat is usually used when it's too cold outside for your regular heater to keep your home warm.
      Set up Emergency Heat
      If you have a heat pump system with emergency heat, the app will walk you through setup during installation.
      The app will ask you to enter the wires that your current thermostat uses. Then it will give you a Nest thermostat wiring diagram that’s customized for your system. Always follow this diagram to put the emergency heat wire into the right Nest thermostat connector.
      After you’ve connected the emergency heat wire, the app will ask you for some more information. See the troubleshooting section below for the correct settings, if needed.

      They should sell one in your country that supports this. Have you looked at a local store there? If you buy from the USA it might not work. Also this version is not the full version. The Smart Thermostat amzn.to/3IXGwpy

      If you look right below the video in the description I have more wiring options, diagrams and pictures even that might help. Remember this cheaper budget thermostat is not as robust as the Learning Thermostat, amzn.to/3rIDdNa. You may need more if you have a W2 (see diagram here in this photo)

    SO I have an RC and an RH wire on my old thermostat...have seperate ac and heating no forced hot air system. the new nest only has an R no RC or RH, MY RH wire is plugged into the R side on my old thermostat so what can I do about this?

    • @Zachus
      @Zachus  3 роки тому +1

      Look under my video for a complete wire explanation and more info on this but ultimately you can put both R=Power into the R. Some thermostats do this with jumpers etc, so just put both Power into R, the thermostat will know which one to kick on.

    • @conyeje2
      @conyeje2 3 роки тому

      Yep. Did exactly what Zachus mentioned. I had a jumper wire in my old thermostat from Rc to Rh, but yeah, that's just legacy dumb theromstats complicating things. New thermostats have the brains to differentiate, so all you need is the one R connection. My old Rc to Rh jumperwire now lives in the Nest Thermostat packaging box in my closet, lol. I also have an E260 error that my thermostat is reporting (No Power to Y1, or my A/C unit), which could be because my A/C unit has another power breaker that is switched off for winter, and/or could be that I blew a fuse in my A/C unit by accidentally leaving it's breaker turned on while doing the install that I'll need to replace when the summer kicks into full gear.

    I have a Y2 wire but no place to install it on my third gen Nest. Anything I can do? My HVAC has two speeds and I know that is what the Y and Y2 are for but there is no place for the Y2 wire

    • @Zachus
      @Zachus  Рік тому

      Hey Thomas, I put this in the description but you man need the Nest Learn Thermostat for Y2, See diagram share.getcloudapp.com/L1u6P7Xy

      @@Zachus Thank you. I got this months ago through my local power company on a rebate program so I am guessing I can't bring it back. Think it's possible to get the nest learning back that has the Y2 or will it not fit the unit I have?

    • @Zachus
      @Zachus  Рік тому

      The Nest Learning amzn.to/3U74cND is the top of the line, it has all the openings. This Nest E is a more basic model. I'm surprised your Power Company gave you this. I would reach out to them and see what they will do. I bought mine but still got a rebate credit. Hope this helps. The diagram is for Nest Learning, it has all the options.

      I did find out that if you have a separate E wire (usually dark blue) for the Emergency Heat, don't connect it. The thermostat's programming allows you to essentially program the AUX heat to function as Emergency Heat.

      it should, mine does. Try pulling it off the wall for 30 seconds and putting it back on, maybe it needs a reset. Did it do it at one time and now it doesn't? Which Nest Thermostat do you have?
