I saw in the specs comparing the Hybrid140 and the tce130 4x4 that there is a significant difference regarding the Torque. Though the Hybrid 140 has 10 more HP, it has only 148 Nm Torque. The tce 130 4x4 has instead 230 Nm Torque. To me this is an important argument for a decicion pro tce130, because exactly with a suv I will need force to transport, to pull, to offroad, etc. And besides: The tce130 has also a higher Top Speed, namely up to 180 km/h compared to 160 km/h in the Hybrid140.
You have to test drive both versions to see 👍
I definitely agree with you, the tce 130 is better, even if it only has three cylinders. It can also be seen on the engine that it has two variators, both on the intake and on the exhaust camshaft, which is very good.
Great, practical video, thanks. I've had petrol and diesel (4X4) Dusters. The Diesel 4X4 had a very low ratio gear box. I will be very interested when you do a test drive of the mild hybrid 4X4 to see if the new mild hybrid gearbox is permanently on low ratio, throughout it's range. Thanks.
I will test that John 👍
I like the mild hybrid much more. The system is lighter, smaller and will be cheaper to replace when the car gets 8+ years old. The 1.2 turbo engine is more modern and more economical than the 1.6 without turbo so in practice the difference in fuel consumption will not be as significant as advertised.
I'd go with the full hybrid, but it doesn't have the 4x4 wheel drive system, so I'm gonna go mild hybrid with 4x4. Easy
👍
I am looking to buy Dacia Duster 140 Hybrid, what does annoy me is timing chain. It is stated to be life time of engine, which sounds ridiculously, unless engine is rated to last until end of warranty (150 000km). I believe same engine is used in Dacia Jogger and Renault Arkana, has someone experience with these engines and driven them already past 150 000km?
It is to soon to know … I didn’t hear anything until now… it is same system e-tech that Renault use 👍
Really good video, to understand better these hybrid engines. As I want automatic, it has to be the full Hybrid, just have to wait for a test drive....
Yes for sure you have to make a test drive 👍
Hello Dan! Thanks for the video! I would like to ask if you can give us a rough estimate of how long these batteries last and how expensive they are. My personal opinion is that the full hybrid engines are more complex and therefore more expensive to maintain. Also, I agree with the comment about the low torque (~148 Nm) of the full hybrid engine, it's the same on the Renault Arkana model.
The 1.3 Tce 160hp one has an even bigger torque of 270 Nm, so it's even better than the 140 hp one.
They should last with no problem over 8 years battery and electric motors
I think I will go with mild hybrid. 0,4 l more in fuel consumption isn't much and also 10 HP isn't much of a difference to me. I also don't need an automatic but 3000€ less for almost the same consumption is really good deal. Now I just have to decide between expression or journey.
👍
Are they going to install or use these engines in stepway? with the 140hp full hybrid is that double clutch or cvt?
We don’t know yet ….
The Dacia Duster 140 Hybrid features a clutchless gearbox, which is essentially an automatic transmission but not a traditional CVT or dual-clutch system1. This type of transmission is designed to provide a smooth driving experience by eliminating the need for a clutch pedal while still offering efficient power delivery and fuel economy.
There was law sue issue with the 1.2 engine ? Why do they keep it ... I guess it's not that much improved... tnx
I dont know to be honest …
it was completely different engine. Old 1,2 Tce was 4 cylinder (very problematic due to oil petrol difusion) and new one is 3 cylinder and soon will replace 1,33 Tce I guess.
Yes ...I know that ...time will tell.. I just wish they kept 1.3 and 1.5 dci for awd version
When comparing the car performance, the mild hybrid offers a much higher torque, is slightly faster and average full consumption of the full hybrid is only slightly better. So I have a hard time understanding why the full hybrid is worth the price difference? Unless the full hybrid somehow offers a much better driving experience?
Because in the city are capable to drive 80% of time in electric mode … they can recuperate more energy and in many circumstances are much more efficient… plus less emissions
@@SDADanCars Sure, but still only with a range of 2-3KM and on average 5.1 l/100km vs 5.5 l/100km and 113 g/km vs 123 g/km aren’t huge differences are they?
When will you be able to test drive one? I’m seriously considering buying one but need more information.
@@SDADanCars Just popped by the dealer and found out that the mild hybrid doesn't come with an automatic transmission, which is a deal-breaker for me. So, I'll be going for the full hybrid instead. Also, the dealer confirmed that the full hybrid offers a way better driving experience and is more fuel-efficient in real life than what the specs indicate.
cum, ventilatorul de la aerul conditionat nu e adaugat la calculul puterii totale? :))
😁
According the manufacturer the battery on hybrid engines lasts 6-8 years (far less actually). The cost of replacing it is almost half that of the whole car. Good luck to those that plan to buy a car with the hybrid platform. As a general rule you never buy a new type of engine that hasn't been tested for a decade at least. Unless you want to be part of the experiment.
Thanks for feedback 👍🙏
mild hybrid battery would not cost as much as with full hybrid. For occasional riders non of the hybrid is suitable. Up to 12K per year you better choose plain petrol or LPG version which is cheap with Dacia.
