I've already backed the STL pack from Broken Anvil. Looking forward to printing a bunch of those minis :D Speaking of 'At the painting table with you', what about 'paint along's? Like your battle idea, but not competitive, and the audience paints the same model, probably a once-a-month type thing, with a collection of photos in a video.

I dont even paint minis, but I use their painting techniques for my sculpey sculptures I make.

Yes at 100k subs, do that where you paint the same mini and then, when you are done, you have someone else narrate a combat scene in Cogent where your characters duel, and you act out the whole fight with the minis!

IKR. It's kinda ... justifying ... for us mortals and mundanes to see such adoration and fan-ing for people we fan over, by people we fan over.
These minis are really sleek! I’ll definently be checking out the Kickstarter. Cool to see the process coming together from both Dave’s POV as well as Jazza’s airbrushing/ general knowledge! Love to have another channel that I know I’ll enjoy most videos put out.
I do not play any tabletop games, but I do love watching this channel. I am mostly interested in the painting of miniatures and terrain creation.

Love the idea of a battle, but it should be each of you has access to the same colour palette and tools, but you each have to come up with your own take on the mini. Loving the content you guys are coming up with for the videos.

I would love to see Jazza's version of a 40k battle report, or a Kill Team game! Would be pretty exciting :) Or even showing the playthrough of a GW boxed game, like Blackstone Fortress, Blood Bowl, etc.

Painting technices, mini sculpting, modify well known minis to almost unrecognisable, Painting competition between you two, learning new painting technices and sharing the experiences. A bigger model over the top detail paint job with as much details you can imagine. A few things I would love to see you dabble more in.

I love the suggestion with teaching each other. I've had that as a thought for the main Jazza channel. Teach someone and show their struggles and achievements. As someone that want to get into everything arty- that would be great! 😁

I really respect the comment on subtle OSL, so commonly OSL is done way too over the top, as if it is a blinding light source, in a dark room. I personally have made a point when attempting OSL effects to be subtle about it, in the way I was not seeing on youtube.

Love the rebirth👍👍. Maybe you guys could do any speed/ batch painting skills and tricks you could share. Always handy (especially as I’m that idiot that decided to collect orks and tyranids)
It would be great to learn miniature painting techniques, including a step by step listing of what you do when. (First we do the prep, then we .... etc.)
100k subs-battle: you both get the same random miniature out of 10 you chose together and then, you do a goober-town-roulette-kind-of-thing

Given the materials you have at your disposal from your other projects. I would love to see you test out alternatives to paint to use on minis. Do alcohol markers work with the right primer, do sharpies work. Bring in things from your experience that people may never have tried on minis before.

Great Vid! New Subscriber! Don't delay the competition till 100k Subs. Instead, take what you started here, identifying individual traits of Angel's mini that you want to emulate and then have a competition between the two of you, working on identical minis, with judging based specifically on the trait you are both simultaneously trying to master. Perhaps start a standard that when the two of you compete, the looser has to give away his creation to a patreon subscriber.
My biggest issue with values and contrast is that I'm always afraid to overdo it, so I often don't have enough contrast. It's 100% an overcorrection on my part because I used to use such flamboyant colours and never liked how they looked. So I jumped into the art of drab and subtlety and now nothing seems to pop quite like I want it to. That middlegeound is so finicky. It's like my blending problem. I always blend my work to hell because I have a hard time knowing when I need a blur and when I meed a harsh line.
Great video, I had some fun watching it also about what you can do (I know its not Jazza channel BUT), maybe you could try to sculp some minnies? (Normally or by a program wichever you like). Have a great week.

Personally, i think the 2 best mini painters ive seen are probably angel, alongside sergio. Both of their paintjobs just always look like they belong and everything draws your attention in just the right way.
Honorable mention: squidmar miniatures.
I personally like squids style of painting and thats one of the reasons hes in my personal top 3. Even tho there may be better painters than squid, i just really like the way he paints.
if you want to do mini painting challenges, check out Rybonator's painting dice, he created a set of dice that have painting challenges like use certain colors, use certain tools, and there are a couple really mean ones, like you're only allowed to finger paint
