Great perspective on this vid. Thanks for posting it! Between the surrounding mountains and the frequent crosswinds from the west, Reno can be a bumpy ride. I've been on many a SW 737 with people wailin' and chummin'...R-E-N-O!
I've landed at Reno maybe 15 times, and the best one was at night in a snow storm, with a great pilot. It was yaw-city, but he put her down like a baby in a crib.
Did a SLC to RNO flight on Delta in some nasty nighttime, snowy conditions. Made me a little nervous but saw the flightdeck crew while deplaning and they were just chill. They were definitely confident in their abilities from what I could tell.
Good captures! I love this spot, the whole airport and Reno in general is spread out at your feet basically. I have the tower with the blinky light in some of my time lapses.
Were you on Rattlesnake Mtn when you shot this? Used to work near Virginia and Neil and saw many a hairy landing because of the frequent cross winds that airport sees

That Reno approach is the worst. The plane starts rocking 20 minutes out - every time. I've been part of many great landings there. Salute.
GREAT video! I live in Reno, one of my favorite things is to watch the planes come in on a windy day. Thanks for sharing!

A good gauge of the wind is that American flag blowing in the background on approach

forceinfinity yes I was. It’s even a cooler shot when they land from the south.
great video work! cool landings.
Interesting vantage point, the aircraft look like leaves slowly falling to the ground. What international destinations are served out of Reno?
Awesome video, heck of a vantage point.
pretty sure that the vantage point is rattle snake mountain
