I just bought ANOTHER bike.... a 2000 Softail Standard, with 18000 miles, and extras...quick detatch windshield, soft bags, Xtra set of tires, the tecs service manual. Always wanted a older Softail, with the bobbed rear fender. So much cooler than the half moon fender. And it fits in between the sporty, and the street glide. Now... on to upgrading the cam chain tensioners, and oil pump.
Just picked up an 08 Night Train. She is asleep in the shed for the winter. So stoked to ride in April... If you ever get up to Ottawa, hit me up for a ride day. .
Never to little to late, we are all still riding, or looking forward to it after this stupid Canadian winter. I've had my fair share of snowing and even hail during riding but never to try and crush the winter riding blues. Maybe I'll see if I can make myself go out for a few cold ones (rides) at the end of this season but I could also be tempted to just keep going south till I find myself back in warm air again. Thanks for the vids, hopefully ride past ya this year :)
I just installed 8.5 inch pullback risers on my 2005 Night Train,I want to say thanks, this video convinced me to go ahead and do it.I was just a little too hunched forward with the stock straight 6 inchers.
Nice looking ride. I'm currently on a 21 Road King Special which I love. Once that one is paid off, I'm gonna hunt down a Nightrain as my back up ride. Just love the look of one that's all blacked out.
I’m feeling you when people be breaking coming up to a green light with nobody in front of them. Even in a car makes me wonder what kind of human they are so I get up beside them if a have a chance in double lane just to get a look at the face of stupidity
@@CanadianGearhead Hoping to make it alittle easier to long distance ride it with one of those air cushion seat pads though. Right now it’s painful to ride longer than an hour at a time.
Hey man, I know exactly what your talking about!! I do the same thing; I’ll go out and ride my ass off in a cold rain or something right before I put it away 😂
stuck between getting a 2018 Heritage or a 2018 Roadking🙃 heard that the roadking is better bang for your buck but something about the deluxe calls to me😭 love your bike man, keep the vids coming
Tough call. I went with Heritge because I don’t due a ton of highway miles. The heritage will give you better handling and with the weight reduction better power and torque. However, you can’t go wrong either way.
Andy Willermet im thinking heritage!!! felt much more comfy between the legs than the bulky huge tank or the roadking, probably because my baby legs😅 thanks for the advice, stay safe and feel free to send pics of your bike!
Love your ride videos man! Keep em coming! Little hard to ride here now that we're into winter well at least we are in alberta but ya man keep em coming! Here's a question you haven't heard yet! Where did you get those sick shoes from? Haaaaa right on bud! I've been looking for a night traiin man for like 3 years no luck!
Nice ride, Il live in Indiana, I like riding in cooler weather, above 40- 45 degrees anyway, I owe 06 HD Deuce, yes I think my bike runs better in cooler weather. But after paying on it for couple of months with it sitting in garage, you want to get out & ride anywhere for a short kinda low speed run.
I just bought an 06 Night Train and replaced the risers as well. The one thing I have noticed is a tiny bit of twist after a bit of riding, and I have to grab the bars and twist them back to parallel. Did you have that issue with the taller risers? Enjoying the vids! Thanks.
This is nice seeing a video for a older bike! I have a 04 Softail and love it. You happen to know of a flush mount tail-light? The eagle flush-lights are only for 06 & newer
I know this is an old video, but what handlebars are you using in this video? What drag bars? I know you have the 8inch risers, just wondering what bars you have here. Thanks sick bike and awesome channel. I have an 08 Dyna low rider with 16 inch apes on it, but I’d like to have the same bar setup as you
I love those bars vs my stock trash fatboy handlebars. I mean seriously the stock bars are so turned back I have no clue how anyone could actually like them :/ Also no, I moved to Las Vegas so I could ride year round
lol a wet noodle in the corners, thats funny. I have the 09 and so far mods are pipes, lowed one inch in the ass, custom rims 21 front and 200 rear, rear led light and the best part i run Pirellis Night Dragons and trust me my chicken strips are not even one inch, she handles in the corners amazing for a cruiser... :):):):)
Check out my new Harley Davidson blog and UA-cam channel! hd-fanatic.com
I put the $50 LED knockoff headlight from Amazon on my Night Train nearly 5 years ago. It’s been great in all weather conditions, zero issues.

I love my 05 night train ill never get rid of it.

My last ride of the year this year was at night. In the rain. In Chicago. In December.
+20 on the headlight. Bought one for 60 off amazon and i should have done it years ago.
After 50 miles my softsil slim s is too loud. Im thinking of putting blutooth speakers on handlebars
Sounds a bit better than a 06. For some reason, at idle ?
Night train ,custom & standard only Harley for me
I’m 6’5” with a 2010 deluxe with 18” apes and solid riser bushings. Super comfortable 👍🏻😎🤓😁 my bike is a twin cam 96 which are pretty smooth running.
Sounds like a nice bike!

You got to see my 06, has a few goodies on it. Just look at it it's a 1 of a kind, you see similar but I haven't seen one like this one I have.
Loud pipes save lives
Do you have floorboards? If so what make / model ?
Nice bike, like those standard Nightrain handlebars

Just bought a 05 night train special edition, I’m from London we should go riding one day

I got them from Royal Distributing - pretty sure the brand is Speed and Strength?
Hey bud they the stock handle bars that came out with the bike?
Yup they're the original drag bars
Bla bla bla. Too much filler, not enough thriller.
whatever the degree of weather is,
while riding it's 10 degrees lower..

Whatda think about slapping a softail fender on a softail slim??
Not sure if it would fit

Sounds like something is a little loose, might want to make sure

I haven't been able to find one for the older bikes
I'm from Chicago and I ride all winter.

They're actually the original bars that come on the Night Train
ahh gotcha, curious where I can find bars like that. Thanks for replying! @canadiangearhead
Video is cool. Thanks
I really want to get a 1996 Softail custom. I am looking at one this week.
Oh yeah. I bought it btw.
Ayyyy how you liking it? I got one myself. Wouldn't sell it for anything!
@@nschein2378 I'm loving her. So comfortable
Im contemplating on buying a 2006 FXSTI softail or a 1999 road king?
I love those bars vs my stock trash fatboy handlebars. I mean seriously the stock bars are so turned back I have no clue how anyone could actually like them :/

I think your bars are cocked to the left.
Love my night train
If my subconscious mind made a You Tube channel. This would be it.
Hey sir, how tall are you, im trying to imagine how i would look like on a bike like that!🙂
I'm 6'3

I see all these ass end lowering kits, but does anyone lower the front end to match?
+1 for the Pirelli Night Dragons. They wear a bit faster, but give much more confidence in the twisties.
i just bought a 2000 night train..bone stock..its so quiet .cant hear it run .with helmet on . Harley What The HELL
Maybe your forks .
Handlebars bent ..
Loud pipes saves lives
It sounds like a two dollar mic
Talks too much
Really cool NT, nicely done.
