The absolute BEST memories of my youth were at The Becky Sheetz Building. We didn't care about anything but our scene... You could be anyone, an old tough-head, a punk rocker, emo kid, whoever... It was so golden. We didn't stay Pony Boy though, we lost it all.
I saw many shows like this. Just some unknown band in a church basement somewhere. The only difference is all those bands never really amounted to much, ya know they all grew up. Got real jobs got married yada yada yada. It would have been so cool to see brand fricken new like this. So raw and real. Ugh I miss those days
MAN!! The New York area at that time was BANGING!! So many great bands came out of that city, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Get-Up Kids, and eventually, Straylight Run!! What a time!!!
I'm speechless. To think they started out right where every other band did. I'm glad I got to meet most of the band before they realllyyyy blew up. They are all such cool guys.
In 2001, I was working at Jimmy Johns in Gainesville when their van pulled up....I had never heard of them.....good for them for getting popularish years later...hard working band
fun fact- that tele that jesse's using is the one that John Nolan loaned him and was never returned to john cuz well Long Island Soap Opera happened he still owns it lmao
Awesome. i remember this tour. The guitar player from The Reunion Show ended up joining Brand New and played with the until the end. Long Island bands always tour together.
If I had a time machine...I would be in this audience, standing in awe of how amazing Brand New really is♡ I am so glad I found this video. One of my favorite songs, and bands of all time.
Haha. This was filmed in Altoona Pa at the “Becky Sheetz Memorial Center”. From like 2000-2010, Altoona bad a really decent scene for both pop punk/emo/alternative rock and Hardcore/metal/punk. It’s damn near in the middle of the state of Pa. there was a lot of great bands that played in Altoona in that decade. Tons of people who supported the scene too. But sorry, that video wasn’t filmed there.
You can't just play this cohesively and sound exactly like the album. Did they spend every last dollar on recording? Your Favorite Weapon is so flawless, yet I can't imagine these guys playing all the songs on it when I see the live. It's like another animal.
Can we go back to 2001, when all that mattered in life was xScenex drama, which Brand New were the kings of, and trying to figure out which songs were about whom? 😂 So quaint.
+BadSodaProductions They're called "ringer T-shirts". It's sucks trying to find some good ones, but once and awhile you'll come across them for cheap. But I have quite a few, they're my fav.
@@RockAddict311 the fuck. Definitely didn't expect to see Mt pleasant here. Haha. I mean michigan does have the best emo bands but Still. Unexpected lol
I seriously thank you from the bottom of my heart for recording this back then.
He wished he recorded the whole set, I wouldve love to saw the whole set.

They had a fight because of a girl but you know they were mature to make up again.
@@bluepinkman4785 i thought they still have beef lol
John did an official solo of Brand New's song Magazine a couple years back. They've definitely reconciled.
Wasn't it also "borrowed" (stolen) from their church youth group?
@@CarpeDiem8711 John "borrowed it for the weekend" and Jesse still has it almost 22 years later

Oh my God. This is insane. Reminds me of those old scene days. Dammit I love Brand New. Thanks for helping me through so many bad and good times
This is one of the coolest videos I’ve come across.
Wow wow wow. This is my new favourite thing.

This is so raw, I love it.

The minute thirty five mark 🔥😍 I really wish I could find more clips from this show.
Is it just me or does this look like the place where they filmed The Quiet Things Music Video?
Woah.
It's very similar, very, But I dont really know if it is or not.

Words can't express my love for this video

I cried when I found out this song was inspired by The Perks of Being A Wallflower's Mary Elizabeth that girl Charlie used to date
What? I thought it was supposed to be directed towards John Nolan from TBS?

The things i would do to have been there .. im swoon.
I fucking love how crazy they go! I would've paid anything to see that venue
It was like 5 bucks to see that back then.
Can we go back to 2001, when all that mattered in life was xScenex drama, which Brand New were the kings of, and trying to figure out which songs were about whom? 😂 So quaint.
"this song goes out to all the girls in the house who have terrible taste in music"
Oh awesome!
How come so many of the views of this are from me?
Wow dude
LOVE!!!
do bands even go this crazy anymore? all these bands are celebrating 10 years so they don't have this in them anymore!! Great video
saw brand new 2 weeks ago, Vinny goes fucking nuts still and same with Garret and jesse, their energy is fucking sick
Thumbs Up
all right two more we'll be out here :D
I would have killed to see BN when they were in venues so small they didn't bother mic'ing the drums. Geez.

what kind of T-Shirt is jesse wearing? because i seriously want one

Hah, go work at Max and Emily's in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Minimum wage along with that college tuition, but free sandwiches and ringer T-shirts.
@RockAddict311 This is weird. I go to Central, didn't expect to see a comment like this on a somewhat obscure Brand New video lol.

This is a shitty cover of the Real Friends song
jk Brand New is awesome
Nick Hopwood this exists. I don’t understand why they have their shirts off though.
