CALISTHENICS GLUTES & HAMSTRINGS WORKOUT - Bodyweight Only | Day Three

  • Bodyweight glutes & hamstrings! Sounds easy option? This workout is not! If you are able to really connect with the glute muscles in the correct movement pattern, full range of movement, perform control on lowering portion, and alignment of feet and hips, you will feel your glutes working through this workout full of unilateral work, hip thrusts and sumos! The hamstrings will be individually targeted too… prepare for an intense session!!!
    The timer will be on for 45 seconds each set with no rest between 4 sets to make each giant set! We will have 20 seconds rest between each giant set!
    Each giant set will be performed for 2 sets however most of the giant sets involve all on one side then the next giant set bring the opposite side!
    For this glute & hamstring workout, you will simply need your mat and a chair/bench for single leg hip thrusts!
    Ankle weights can be added at the beginning if you prefer!

    HOLD!
    DONKEY X OVER
    PULSE!
    HAMSTRING LIFT
    HOLD!
    REVERSE PLANK LIFT

    X1 LEG HIP THRUST
    PULSE!
    HOLD!
    HAMSTRING LIFT (same leg)
    FEET TOGETHER GLUTE SQUEEZE
    LEGS EXTEND LIFT
    PULSES!
    OPEN & CLOSE!
    SUMO 1 1/2 REPS
    1/2 REPS!
    RDL TO SUMO (stand inbetween)
    RDL TO SUMO (no standing inbetween)
    Deceivingly challenging! This workout will really help improve the connection you have with isolating the glute muscles and working through your full range. Also use this time to play with positions… draw attention to hips back during sumos and squeezing the glutes maximally at the top of the movement during hip thrusts.
    The most challenging for me was the hamstring lifts!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Interesting to see what you think is the most intense and demanding!
    Try to really keep focussed, this workout involves that mind to muscle connection!

    If anyone tells me again that you can't train your legs effectively at home, I'll send them this video.
    If this is not the perfection of effectiveness, I don't know what is.
    For me the highlights but also the hardest exercises were
    HAMSTRING LIFT and REVERSE PLANK LIFT🙈
    I was so glad that Caroline stretched with us at the end, and I took the ad on as a relaxed finale.

    "Deceivingly challenging" for sure!! I got cocky and threw on my ankle weights at the start of the workout...and then promptly threw them off! You really don't need them for this workout. My hamstrings and glutes were on fire without any additional weight. This one was a glute torcher!! 🔥🔥 Thank you, Caroline!! 😁 Kick some butt everyone!!

    I strapped on my ankle weights for the first four sets….I regretted it immediately 😳 but kept going! This one is a KEEPER!
    I used to save UA-cam workout videos in various categories to use later. I don’t have to do that anymore - Caroline’s channel has EVERYTHING I need, perfectly organized. I cannot love this woman any more than I already do!!!! 🤩

    Calisthenics always give the impression, looking at them, of being delicate and for beginners workouts. Luckily we in the community know what awaits us with this video! I will definitely use the ankles for the first part! 😍🤩

    The hip thrust giant set was the most difficult for me, but those x-over donkey kicks were the ones that burned the most. Perfect glute/hamstring workout!

    Love a glute workout! Did anyone else feel it in their lower back when we were on our stomachs? I must have a weaker core or something. I feel it in the lower back every time.     OMG this was the hardest glute workout so far !! I had intentions of doing the ad ons - NO WAY ! This was intense. I wanted to quit before the first set 😃 of course I didn’t but it wasn’t pretty. Hope i can walk tomorrow. Let’s go team !

      It was very intense wow wow my calf's were pulsating at the very end and glutes on fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥 but feel amazing I am a hairstylist hopefully can walk tom without the ouch 🤣🤣🤣

    Glutes day!!I'm so excited to smash this workout. A little sore from yesterday, but in a great way!
    It hasn't been too long since I've began my fitness journey in a helpful way, since before his exercise was almost a punishment, but ever since I've found Caroline ( Ty Linda sun haha), my relationship with food exercise and my body has become so much more wholesome instead of toxic. I'll be running my first ever 5 k next month, and I'm training for it right now! So excited...and Ty Caroline for helping me reach this stage!!

    My daughter & I did this one together and we felt the hamstrings burn!
    The lying face down sets were a little more challenging; my daughter rested her hips on yoga blocks to allow for more range of movements. Keep it coming!

    I’ve got chronic low back/hip pain so I appreciate these types of workouts! I can’t do squats/etc so I substituted some outer and inner thigh lifts for the sumo squats.

    OMG Caroline, this was so hard! A mental struggle not to stop. Challenging format and demanding on the glutes and hamms. Diagonal raises and pulses and one leg thrusts felt the most difficult for me. I absolutely loved the finale but I am a big fan of squats and RDLs 😍🙃 Amazing bodyweight only glutes and hamms (no band! and yet super 🔥). Enjoy, everyone!

    This is 🔑. Form is important when we work on the posterior chain. As Caroline says, you want to engage your glutes so that when we do movement in other exercises the load is shared rather than supported just by the muscle group your body wants to favor.
    Our bodies want to take the easiest path to workouts. Give this one your all! Thanks Caroline

    This programme is proving to be a great way to "ease" back into workoing out with Caroline after some time away.
    Its tough. She's tough. Now we're tough too I guess😂
    I really enjoyed the flow of the workout and the selection of exercises. My lower back always starts feeling tight towards the end of a glute focused workout, but even that has improved somewhat.

    DONE!! I started this series a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely destroyed my body😂 I could barely walk for 4-5 days. Then I got sick. Then I was away. But now I'm back!! Normally such a big break in the middle of one of these fitness challenges I would have felt like I'd failed and not started again. Now I know consistency also means returning to something despite what life throws at you. Feels good to be back in it ☺

    I love/ hate glute/hamstrings workouts.
    But you @Caroline manage to get me to do them,because I love how my body transforms doing your workouts. I got stronger and whay fitter then I ever was.
    I hope I am not to intruding if I would ask you if you could do some more workouts for inner&outher thighs (saddle bags),as I really struggle with this problem ( weird body type 😞).

    BURN! 🔥🙌 I loved it. Now kind of enjoying body weight. It definitely challenges me mentally, what I need right now. On the belly, I needed to adjust the leg lift so my lower back would feel comfortable. So good! I felt like I couldn't do it not even thinking of finishing this workout, but here I am all the way through. Yay! Although still having a way to go to minimize breaks and to engage with the burn.     HI Caroline - I hope everyone is enjoying their day/training so far. What a wonderful workout today. The hardest for me was giant set #4. The burn was intense! This was so good I am thinking of trying it again later today. Let's see if my glutes/legs will cooperate. I always say upper body is my favorite but everytime Caroline uploads a glute/hamstring work out, I thoroughly enjoy it. I absolutely LOVE everything Caroline uploads so I can't complain. :)

    Wow wow, what a great burn💥. I used my light Ankle weights and well, the rest is history. I had to stop a couple of times and extinguish the Fire coming from my behind. This was no joke. Thanks, Caroline for yet another great workout. I added a kickboxing workout. ❤

    That was a hell of a workout! No weights but definitely got my ass burning and my hamstrings dying! I pre-watched it before doing it and at the squeezed glutes part my mind was refusing to accept the idea of doing it but once I started nothing could stop my ass! ;D I am doing this calisthenics week after the fuel series and boi that is one challenging week! Loving it! Look at my bottom and loving it too! CG is the best💕!

    Stunning pink roses. Your flower choices are impeccable. 37 minutes of hard work. It was all challenging but the single leg combinations were by far the most difficult. I took many short breaks. Bodyweight workouts reveal your imbalances and muscle weaknesses. It's a great challenge and I hope we incorporate more of these into our monthly workouts. Do your best to everyone and have fun😊

    WOW! This routine was a brilliant challenge. Every time I do one of Caroline’s calisthenics workouts I am more and more impressed by her training methods. I come from a traditional sports and weights background and thought this would be relatively comfortable - far from it! Well done, Caroline.

    I've never done more tough glutes workout in my training experience😂
    I barely could hold these one leg hamstring lifts!😂😂 I'm sure I didn't do them correctly because I lifted hard my leg😂
    These donkey kicks showed me that these glutes aren't the best muscle group in my body😅

    Wow! That was a tough one for me. I don't think my quads got off the mat the entire set of lying on my front. Thanks Caroline for a great workout. Going to have to repeat this one and gain strength isolating my glutes.

    LOVED this workout. It was just what I needed, I didn’t feel like standing for a long period of time and lifting heavy weights - just wasn’t feeling it. So this was the perfect burn I was looking for, added light weight to it, and I’m already sore. Thank you Caroline!

    I can really feel all my upper body muscles...in a good way...after yesterday and I have been so much looking forward to today’s workout! For me I think this will be the highlight of this fantastic week! It’s going to burn...but I’m sure we’ll all smash it and have fun too!     PS...Hi Caroline...so today instead of doing an add on I did the glute activation workout first! I used ankle weights for this and the first four sets of the main workout! What a fantastic morning if glute workouts! Like you, Caroline, bodyweight glutes are one of my absolute favourites! Today’s “highlights” were the hamstring lifts and reverse planks and the one leg hip thrusts! Really hard...by the end of the last set of sumos to RDLs I could hardly walk properly!       Hi Matthew, yesterday's workout was very intense... the dips combined with all the push-ups was a real challenge! This glutes workout will be just as demanding especially with the add on but I'm sure we will all smash it! Enjoy!

      Good morning Matthew. I can do Shoulder press, chest press with Dumbles easily but yesterday was really challenged me. Side plank, decline plank oh god I can't do alll second ,take break and done it. Glutes are my favorite now sure going to smash it. Have great workout Matthew.

    I just came off foot surgery 7 weeks ago, needless to say really no workout to speak of, this was challenging but safe for me. Kicked my butt in a great way, thank you so much. You continue to give us quality workouts. This really helped me get back into working out. 🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

    Again another killer workout from the calisthenics series. I was stupid and did the 20 Minute activation workout in advance. The giant sets then killed me completely. The hamstring lifts made my legs cramp as hell. I really like this kind of workouts in order to be able to connect with my body and to evaluate where there may still be problems in the kinetic chain. Amazing for mind muscle connection. I planned on doing the add on as well but I was so exhausted that I just couldnt do it 🙈. Calisthenic workouts are a killer for the nevous system.

    Wow, just finished it. That was tough and super effective! I talked myself into using ankle weights. Anything with Hamstrings for me is especially challenging such as reverse table holds and the hamstring lifts in the glute section. By comparison, I found the sumo section quite manageable. I always admire Caroline’s composure even when it is tough for her too…often we don’t know until she finishes the exercise, and then she reveals it was tough for her too! We’re all in it together.

I did the glute activation workout with ankle weights first which I began to think wasn’t such a good idea later on!     I have been doing this series after Epic Endgame, that got me really really seriously tired. Only yesterday I managed to have a decent session, with this workout. Everything has improved, coordination, stability, endurance. I am going to so copy Caroline and start sprints again.

    I’m so very glad I’m getting to try 100% Bodyweight training and with an excellent instructor.
    It’s been hard, I’m learning things, and it’s very enjoyable. I’m so sore, stuff that’s never sore is sore. It’s all a good thing. I can see how I need to do more of this style. Yes almost all of the workouts are sprinkled with Bodyweight exercises and some have been all Bodyweight, but I’ve personally not done a full week like this. I’m so glad I got to try this and learn from it. Thank you very much.

    OMG.. I don’t know how I survived this one😅 and can’t count how many “OMG” bursted through my lip… after going through legs and arms workouts with so much struggle, i thought this could not be harder… but Caroline you brought brilliant and absolute hardship to our glutes….     Glutes and hamstrings are among my favorites. The workout looks intense and challenging but we have been trained and still training with one of the best hence we can smash it. Yesterday was a good challenge for me, a way to go with push ups but taking one step at a time. Happy workout everyone, we can do it. 💪🏾🔥

    I really love this bodyweight series! I am going camping this weekend so I am taking a break from Epic Heat to do the calisthenics exercises, that way I can keep up with my workouts even if I don't have access to weights.
