Plus, we had Big Suze from Peep Show and old lady from Citizen Smith in the bank, geezer from Hancock as a robber, and Tanner from the Bond movies as a copper. Had to keep pausing to Google.
What a class show! First 2 seasons are brill. Used to watch this on an evening when I was 9 ish in Tenerife on a night with my Dad. Class times I don’t think I’ll ever forget, even though it was such a little thing😁Whenever I go back always have a look at the hotel we were in back then and think of this series
As an American the fact a unit so small and shrouded in secrecy can do the impossible and unnoticed is a scary thought. Counties send entire forces to do a job and often fail, send in the SAS and they’ll have it done before you scratched your ass. What they do is shrouded in secrecy and do what normal people and regular forces think is imposable every day, this competence, effectiveness and secrecy is what makes them legends.
Ross Kemp is like an overly enthusiastic dad at paintball (especially in the later series), and it just works so perfectly for a early 2000s show about the SAS
Season 3 and 4 is on Netflix, for me anyway. Brought back so many memories! This was my childhood program. Glad i managed to find it again after like 12 years.

25:57-26:50 is the scene is what I like the most, when Jaime shows his abusive stepdad who always abused along with his other siblings but hated Jaime more because he made something of himself by joining the British Army and eventually the SAS, his ever abusive and undermining stepdad get to finally know Jaime’s worth and his sister and brother get to see Jaime in an aura like a warrior whose chariot has come to take him to the battlefield. Simply amazing!!!!
I know its a show but sad to think of thier characters alone in the world. Both had issues. I dont see Henno dropping 40k to beth like he did to ricky's wife
The first 2 series were the best! Chris Ryan is in this episode, he is the team leader of blue team, I know when Chris Ryan was in the SAS he wasn't liked very much by his colleagues. Such a shame they killed all the S1&2 characters off at the start of S3, this is my favourite episode, it's very realistic when they storm the building, and the flash bangs/stun grenades blow all the glass out. Best episode.

The first series was actually written with the direct consult of 2 active SAS members, as I understand it they wrote the basic premises of the first 5-6 episodes actually. The second was written with them still actively putting input but more written by the writers themselves, then the other seasons are just the writers, kinda why it goes all action movie.

He had been having an affair with Pete Twamleys wife and Henno found out. Trooper Ed, who got through selection with Louie and Mick Sharp, was killed offscreen...we just saw his funeral and his upset mother. I would have liked a spin off series, 'Henno', showing him going onto other things after the SAS. Could be good.

I served 9 years in the british army 2 years with the norweigan team nice guys , id say maybe the sas are the best in the world or israeali special forces are the same ive worked with them . then australian sas then norwegian artic team and newzealand sas are good .then russian spetsna . then indian are good then you have navy seals and delta force .and i cant realy think off any one else .
This is why the SAS are the best in the world. In the killing house they use live ammo. Imagine storming a room and your comrade came through another door I can’t imagine shooting a fellow brother

This was the best episode of UF. Based on Iranian embassy siege. Yea the woman got slapped to maintain control, ask poor sim Harris lol great episode, mouth shot, double tap. The young boy that was shot, unfortunately when hostages are being killed the SAS don't ask u to put ur hands up, u can pull a grenade in that time. Maybe controversial.

It's a little bit unbelievable that a sergeant such as Henno can run the entire SAS Regiments. His word, apparently, is God. Do me a favour! In reality the 22nd is split up into 4 sections each of which has a major in overall command.
I have not watched this series in years and it is just as good as I remember, but I have to wonder how much of it is accurate, not the actual tactics etc but more about the interaction between the players, “never call a Rupert Sir” is a prime example, obviously the SAS operate completely differently to the rest of the armed forces but is their interactions really that blaze’, for want of a better word, not that it matters as this is just a tv show.
A trooper can do near enough their full contract in the regiment, offers are on short term postings, The Chinese Parliament thing, where they take I'm put regardless of rank is a part of the training/planning aspect. Each person is taken to be a experienced professional and their advice and opinion matters. They are teams of highly trained specialists and that is taken into account It's a more close knit, more casual thing.
