Bologna-born pianist Pietro Fresa first became known when he made his debut at St. George’s Hall, Liverpool in September 2017. On this occasion he performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 as the Italian representative for the event “Bologna-Liverpool UNESCO city of music”.
In the same year he received an invitation to the Festa Europea della Musica di Roma at which he was awarded the Medaglia della Camera by the Hon. Laura Boldrini in recognition of his musical talent and as a winner of international awards.
Pietro studied with Carlo Mazzoli at the Conservatorio G. B. Martini of Bologna where he graduated with distinction in 2017.
When he just 11, Pietro won a place at the prestigious Accademia Pianistica Internazionale in Imola on a course called “Incontri col Maestro” (“Meetings with the Maestro”), studying with the Chinese concert pianist, Jin Ju. Pietro is currently a pupil of the renowned Russian Maestro, Boris Petrushansky.
Pietro then studied at the Royal College of Music with Dmitri Alexeev and Sofya Gulyak. He graduated with First-Class Honours in September 2020.
In addition to this Pietro has taken part in masterclasses with Enrico Pace, Boris Berman, Vovka Ashkenazy, Leonid Margarius, Vanessa Latarche, Andreas Frölich, Stefano Fiuzzi and Roberto Cappello, participating in their Masterclasses on a regular basis.
