  • If you are starting out learning Jazz one of the best things you could do is to
learn solos by by ear, as that way you will be immersing yourself in the language of Jazz.
But which solo and artist exactly?

The solo , or one of them Jazz duets would suggest transcribing would be trombonist
Fred Wesley's on Pass the Peas by James Brown. I am also naming artists like Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Johnny Hodges, Wynton Kelly, Chet Baker, Paul Desmond... Incredible figures from Jazz!

What I love about this lesson is it’s emphasis on the rhythms used to generate the different phrases. Learning the rhythms is going to be a biggie for me rather than the notes played. The rhythmic phraseology used has given me a fresh perspective on how to approach jazz playing. Thank you for an awesome lesson 🎶🎹🎸🥁😎

One of the most pleasing solos to my ear is Chet Baker on “it could happen to you”.

I've been following this channel for a few years now and my musical knowledge has grown a lot. I don't speak English, but the examples he gives in the score makes it easy to understand.
