    Thanks guys. We are thinking of removing the compressor and fitting it to the side or top to fit into our canopy space. Interesting tip on the drill holes. I guess by the time we’ve mucked around with the compressor the warranty will be voided anyway so we may as well drill the holes! We are looking for a freezer to supplement our 80L Engel fridge. We are speaking to Oz Trails fridge guy tomorrow to check if the pipes are long enough for some mods. Your review gave us the final confidence we needed to give it a crack! 👍🏾👍🏾

      @@rwhite498 hi. We haven’t fitted the unit just yet. It’s looking like it might just fit as is, will advise if we need to remove the compressor.

      @@rwhite498 hi. We successfully reduced the length of our freezer and tested it for 9 days out bush. So far so good. Hubby ended up removing the rear components from the base plate, reducing the base plate to size then refitting components back on to the base plate and retrofitting the rear casing back around the compressor etc. Took a bit of time but worth it for us. Re the freezer itself- we’re super happy with its performance. Fast to cool and draws around 3-4 amps when running in northern Australia being opened regularly for fishing bait and ice unfrozen. Good luck 👍🏾👍🏾

      Yeh the 20L might not be suitable for everyone. In my opinion, you might be best to look at the EvaKool draw fridge. It's only 30L but it's the only other one I'd consider.

      @@jeepinoz I currently run a oztrail 57 ltr as a freezer and love the room it has ..but its a pain to dig through to get stuff at the bottom ....the draw was more for weight saving and ease of access but seems its to much of a crompamise in our situation ...We precook 90% of our meals and then kryovac and freeze ...makes meal time easy with less to washup ...and can fit a heap of meals in our current setup ....So glad I watched your kings vid as I was about to drop the money on one ...but like most kings crap its just not worth it in the end ...keep up the good work

    I got one of these on Boxing Day sale for an absolute steal, finally have a canopy to install it in, and it never crossed my mind how tf I was going to go about installing it. I’d much rather have it bolted down somehow, but yeah, there’s no way to do that 😜. Maybe I end up replacing the rubber feet with some flat brackets that stick out the side and bolt the brackets down. Any advice would be great though.

    • @jeepinoz
      @jeepinoz  3 місяці тому

      I ended up putting a hook on either side, front and rear on the floor and used straps to tie it down. But the bracket could work too.

    Thanks for the review, What I don't understand is that overall dimensions are the same as the Kings one but there is 10L differences in the advertised volume. Di you guys notice a difference in the inside dimensions?

    • @jeepinoz
      @jeepinoz  9 місяців тому

      We chose the Oztrail over the Kings not due to size but due to the freezing capabilities. This OzTrail goes much lower than the Kings and is more suited to our needs. So, no, we don't notice a difference as we're only running the Oztrail now.

      Hi,

    The brass monkey runs a unbranded compressor but the oztrail runs the LG dual compressor. Only downside to drilling all the holes is you lose the 2 year warranty
