After watching your video and a few others last year I found a wrecked 08 FJ on CoPart and purchased it for 4700 with 143k miles. It's the tan version with traction control, diff locker, power everything and other than the front end damage, which was pretty extensive, it's in excellent shape. I have to replace passenger side suspension, inner and outer fender, bumper, grill and other components, radiators and rock sliders. Motor still runs perfect and it shifts perfect. Can't wait until spring to finish all the work and get it back on the road. Just love everything about these vehicles!!
I love the dog proof windows and doors of the back seat. No dogs stepping on window button and leaning half way out an open window while I'm driving 70mph on I-4!!! 🌞🐶🐶
Have to agree with all your points, my friend. I have an army green 2014 stock FJC. I bought it when I heard they discontinued it. Came with the stock side bars/steps, roof rack, hitch, crawler, side mirror lamps, and all the other bells and whistles. Favorite utility vehicle I've ever owned. I've had Jeeps, 4x4 trucks and a Land Rover. The FJ beats all of em! I've literally had a dozen dealers call me to ask if I want to sell it.
Another thing that I really like about them is how well they're painted. Living in Minnesota I can't say I have ever seen an FJ with rust issues on the outside. Toyota build quality is usually stellar across the board. I am excited for the Bronco, because maybe Toyota will deem the FJ to be profitable, again, especially considering the fact that SUVs are selling like hotcakes right now. I do like 4runners but the nice thing about FJs is all of the color variations and the fact that most of the ones I have seen have factory lockers.
We have salt on the road 6 months out of the year where I live. The top side looks good, but the frame has suffered and one of my rocker panels is starting to rot. What would be even better is if Toyota brought back the FJ but made it out of aluminum!
I just bought a 2014 automatic 4x4, cause the manual 4x4 was full time 4WD and worse gas mileage. It has a lot more pickup than a 2020 4runner. I love it. Drove in the wind and rain for the first time yesterday and it was very loud. Dont know if it's the rack on top or just not very aerodynamic or cause it's not a little car, like my 1993 celica with 424k miles. I bought it at the crappy Toyota of Daytona dealership, and got them to do the transmission flush, all the other stuff they did was aftermarket, even the in cabin filter that was packed with dirt and leaves. I paid them for front and rear differential flush. They didnt even wax it to get the grey /black streaks off. They delivered it dirty. Took it to my Toyota of wesley chapel for a toyota used car inspection and I wanted a coolant flush, also power steering was low and dirty, so did that, serpentine belt was 20k miles past due, and rear brake pads were at 2 and 4mm, called Daytona Toyota and they said they knew they were at 3mm but wouldn't pay to have replaced as a safety issue, so I had to. I bought parts for an exhaust gasket noise, have to fix that next week. I put just over 2k of work after I bought it, I cleaned the dirty inside and washed and waxed with Toyota cleaner wax to get the dark streaks off my white FJ. Will polish in 2 weeks. Bought FJ floor and cargo mats. I finally feel like it's my FJ now, and I'm taking care of it better than it has been for the last few years. Yay, I finally got my FJ🌞🌞🌞🌞
Congrats! Always seems like a big game of catch up on maintenance and cleaning whenever you buy a used car! I rented a 2018 4Runner last year and couldn't believe how much less power it seemed to have than the FJ.
Toyota means it runs for ever! They are expensive because as every knows they stoped making them, so an FJ with 80,000 miles well kept with 4X4 will still run you over 20K and up. TRD and Trail Teams Editions fetch even more and rightfully so. The white roof is called a break. It was used in the early productions of the FJ Cruisers and the purpose was for Safari journeys. So that when you churning around in the Jungle no matter the color of the truck, the top area would always be seen against the green trees.
1) Love the look of FJ. 2) Rare: I can't imagine another full frame, boxy, mid size SUV will be introduced anytime soon/ever. 3) Owner don't automatically fit into a stereotype: mustang guys, suburu vape club, etc. 4) right amout to torque to keep you rolling in bumper to bumper traffic without touching the accelerator. 5) TOYOTA/Costco fo life
I bought a 2010. 2 years ago with 87k miles. Checked NHTSA with my vin and 0 ZERO RECALLS. Checked it again this year and still zero recalls. I changed all fluids myself because it’s so easy. Greased the zirk fittings my self and good to go. Original factory seat materials are extremely durable but I did install seat covers due to my two dogs. Al factory stock with AT AND ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES. I did put a set of new BFG AT KO2. no lift , nothing else. I like yours but mine more because it’s iceberg white. LOL 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Iceberg white is one of the better colors the offered, lucky you. The early FJs (mine included) had a recall for the front seat belts. Apparently where they attach to the rear doors needed to be reinforced because they could tear out in a crash. Glad we didn't have to deal with the Takata airbag recall on these things!
Dirona I know right. Somehow when they designed and built these it just seems they wanted to put the best they had into a shorter wheel base package without sacrificing safety, durability and reliability. And they don’t rattle and drive so smooth. Just a little above normal exhaust and road noise I think because of the lack of extra sound insulation due to lack of cloth carpet. But man it is a very capable all around vehicle. Land Rover is what you drive into the forest. Toyota is what you drive to get you out. LOL
I really want to buy one. I think they’re amazing and I’m desperate for 4 wheel drive. I like to be high off the ground and I like that we are still able to change what we want even though they stopped production after 2014. Still nervous to buy but I’ve had such good reliability with Toyota.
I have a 1993 Toyota celica with 424k miles. Just bought a 2014 FJ, automatic 4x4. 99k miles, eventually, I'll roll it past its first 100k miles. It looks like I got a good one, hope so🌞
I had some friends visiting from out of State and We were taking the tour in a light rain. When I turned on the wipers they all squealed at once saying Wow 3 Wipers ?? Lol
Bought a 2012 Trail Teams Special Edition after searching two years for one. I absolutely love it and am building it out to overland. Thanks for showing!
The FJ is an acquired taste, that's why they stopped selling it here in the states. That said, I'm glad I kept mine, I got an 07 with only 150k miles and it's holding it's value well.
Very true. I think a lot of families want 4 full doors too. Values held high in the northeast for a while but have been starting to drop here over the past year or so, although they seem to be holding high in other parts of the country.
I’ve got got a 2007 FJ with 54,000 miles. Every time I think of getting rid of it I can’t do it, really love how this vehicle handles and takes command of the road. I’ll probably die before the FJ does.
So true especially with all the jeeps out there ! the jeep has a cult following .. everybody who owns a jeep like to wave at each other as they pass not the fj owners ,why is that ? But if you are in your fj and some white old guy in a jeep rubicon waves at you thats me ... yep i bought my fj in 2012 got married in 2013 wife wanted a jeep so i bought her a rubicon i built my fj to go where the rubicon can and i love my fj stopped driving it when we bought the rubicon as i was. Saving the miles for when the jeep breaks down I didnt like driving the jeep when i first bought it ,it looked so plain and ugly , and the wife wouldnt let me put my touch to it for the first two years the third year she said ok go ahead because she was tired of me complaining about how ugly it was i dropped 14 g into the jeep and now it looks as good as my fj and i dont mind driving it after driving both i must say the jeep is slightly more capable in the off road setting than my fj ... and its because of the straight axle in front and the sway bar release that gives it the most articulation and firmly plants the rubicon The A arm suspension of the fj is its only hinderance but listen when im in my fj i will follow any jeep where ever it goes because i trust my fj And it has everything the jeep has except the front sway bar release and straight axle
In the process on getting a 2011 FJ Trail Teams dark green. EXCITED to get it. It is exactly what i want in an FJ. Besides a few cosmetic wear and tear items to fix up.
#2 - TOYOTA what does Toyota mean? Toyota means reliability. Toyota means good build quality. Toyota means good resale value. Actually that's my #2 also and my number 1 is also the same as yours. Fist bump.
I have always loved the FJ’s. Never owned one though. I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 as my daily driver. Wife drives a 2012 Ford Flex and we just bought a 1998 Wrangler. Getting it leveled and some slightly bigger tires on it right now. Point is, I don’t give a crap about manufacturers, I go with what I like. The FJ seems like a great SUV.
Agreed. I have no brand loyalty. The FJ has been an ok vehicle but I honestly think there are other vehicles out there that are a better value. Toyotas in general are grossly overpriced for what they are IMO.
I've wanted one since they came out but the price was just out of my range. I finally took a chance, got on CoPart looking for a wrecked one I could rebuild myself and was able to snag a 2008 with quite a few options for 4700. It was in a pretty good front end collision and will take me a few months to get road worthy again but the motor and trans are tight, looks like the previous owner kept it mechanically sound and the mileage at 143 k for a Toyota isn't bad, interior is perfect and except for the actual crash damage the rest of the body is excellent. I'll have to replace bumper and the steel components under it, left fender and internal suppost, radiator and support, headlightsw, grill and some smaller parts but around 2000 for parts is my estimate. Also have to replace left front suspension parts. Once complete not counting labor I think I'll have around 8 grand in it with upgrades I'm planning on and to me that's a pretty cheap price for one. Can't wait to do some travelling and offroading, nothing compares to an FJ!
Nice, sounds like a great project. Saw one locally with 200k for $5k, needed new gears in the rear end...was tempted to pick it up since they never seem to be priced below 10k, no matter the year or mileage.
@@farrukhsaud03 I have the 2014 FJ automatic stock and I'm getting 20mpg. I can get less and I can get more. On a trip from California to Washington with 70mph zone I was getting 26mpg. Going through Utah with 85mph speed zones I was only getting 16mpg. So go figure. Oh and I just paid it off 6 months ago. And just yesterday after a round of golf my golf mate complimented my FJ like he's never seen anything like it before. Very rewarding. I wouldn't worry about the mileage. 2nd & 3rd Gen 4Runners are selling like hotcakes because everyone needs reliability and a 4Runner over 200,000 miles still gets you anywhere you want to go. Toyotas keep you from wasting your time in the service department and out doing stuff in life.
Toyota has great carpet mats and just snap in and out when You want a clean carpet look. Even the big cargo deck has a carpet pad. I use both in and out all the time.
Its great to have the option of carpet or no carpet. Mine didn't come from the previous owner with a carpet pad for the cargo deck...guess I'll have to hit Ebay and pick one up.
I’ve never owned a Land Rover but I do own a jeep in addition to the FJ, and based on personal experience they each have their own strengths and weaknesses
I LOVE MY FJ!!!! However, there are a few things I dislike about it. 1. the whole vehicle is one gigantic blind spot. 2. It catches wind like crazy. 3. Everything about the center console... or the lack there of. 4. The backup camera is pretty useless. 5. No fog lights. Even with it's fault. I still love that damn thing, the pro's outweigh the con's by 100%.
Ha ha... oh yeah, the blind spots are wicked awful. When you have to change lanes or merge, you check, double check, and then lean forward and check again. I bought mine new in 2011 and have had regular and timely maintenance ever since, so it runs beautifully like a Toyota should. Whenever I got a bit stuck (snow, mud, sand), the four wheel drive laughed in the face of adversity. Had it garaged and drove it sporadically due to COVID last winter so had the wiring chewed by evil rodents and paid dearly to have it repaired. All is well now. The back seat is only for my dogs... I definitely would not enjoy sitting in those hard (strangely way too upright) seats for a lengthy period of time! The speakers in the rear look and sound like an old school boom box 😂. The whole package makes me wonder about the design engineer. But my favorite part of the FJ is the rear window... totally clever. Good tires are a good investment!
Wanted one since they came out in 07 finally got one. Love it things a beast do not buy a two-wheel drive one they're useless got to put mine in 4-wheel drive to get out of wet grass. Also if you have an early model like mine disconnect traction control newer ones have a switch to do so I live in New York and in the snow your tires won't spin but you also have zero power to accelerate sometimes you got to get going a little faster then Turtle speed
Really sucks that they didn't install a factory traction control switch. Unfortunately every mod I've found to disable traction control also disables the ABS system. Of the many cars I've had, the FJ is the first I've owned with ABS and I'm not willing to give that up right now, so I find myself popping the transfer case in 4wd on many uphill stops in the rain and snow to keep the engine from cutting power due to loss of traction. Am hoping better tires will improve this situation (current ones are fairly low quality).
Hey guy..., Am fascinated by your video, you are absolutely right; the designers of FJ did an incredible work. As a digital art design I am, the sketching of FJ is rugged and wicked look, despite other SUV out there, like 2021 Land Cruiser, M Benz, Jeep, Ford, Bronco, Nissan, Peugeot and GMC...e.g..which are also stylish, but above all and within all FJ Cruiser has a unique look and incredibly physics when it comes to any obstacles-offroad from other SUV; which is my best SUV?
Agreed, just don't understand it, especially with the 'cult' like following that the FJs have. Although I do have to say that if they were still building them, my savings account would be significantly smaller right now so I suppose thats one positive to Toyota ceasing production haha.
I think it has to do with Toyota limiting it’s rusted frames exposure lawsuits. Look it up....Tacoma’s, Sequoias, and Tundras. Toyota was sued in class action lawsuit and lost.
Bought the first one available in AZ! Dec 2007. One bad thing happened. The E-shift Lo-4wheel did not disengage completely. Got stuck in 4-Hi. Boiled the front diff fluid out and grenaded. $3800 worth.
I just got a 2007 the best model at the time 151000 miles it's really better than I expected mine is automatic transmission it's definitely larger on the inside than thought I hope to have it for a long time 👊🏽💯
It's a base model, and there weren't a ton of base models sold so you don't see them too often. No mirror lights, no power mirrors, no keyless entry, no cruise control, no tinted windows, etc. However if you watch some of my other videos you'll see that I installed keyless entry, cruise, and will soon be installing power/lighted mirrors and window tint
I would really like to get one in the future. I have an Xterra and my brother has an Fj. We're from the gcc so most of the off-roading is sand dunes. In terms of power, Xterra wins. It climbs taller dunes and does it faster. And better visibility, turning radius. Everything else, Fj is better. Higher quality Interior, stronger and more comfy suspension, and I like the looks more. But it's too expensive in the used market! Both are reliable and hopefully I can have them both.
I briefly debated between getting an Xterra or FJ, but like you said the FJ is better looking and I expect the Toyota drivetrain to last longer without major problems than the Nissan. But I agree, if circumstances allow I wouldn't mind having one of each.
Idk how much they cost where you live but it’s between 13K-20K, not bad for the amount of car you get in my opinion. Also the supercharged xterras I’ve heard are unreliable, but you had a good experience with them.
I have a 2012 fjc resale as it sits is around 23,000 i also have a 2015 jeep rubicon its resale value as it stands i 10,000 to 12,500 both with low mileage
The OEM Roof Rack would give Your baby a bit more strong look. That little skinny rack up there - - No - ->> It may have not been replaced but added as a money saver - - fail. Other wise it is a beauty as the FJs are. Congrats. Yes I LOVE My 2014 !!
Thanks! The previous owner said he chose not to get the factory rack at the dealership. Agree the factory rack gives a stronger look but I don't mind having a little different look with just the cross bars. If I were to come across a decently priced factory rack I'd probably swap it for the cross bars.
I had that type of cross bars on a Jeep Cherokee before I got the FJ. I really like the OEM FJ rack for all My uses. I carry a couple of Kayaks up there and also love how I can open My back door without banging into the boats that are Now way above. The OEM Toyota rack has removable " blades " within the rack. Very flexable.
DYNABIKE1 great conversation. I got rid of the manufacture roof rack, because I wanted to use the whole roof space for camping supplies etc. I went with a Baja rack with a LED light bar mounted to the front frack. I sold the old rack on eBay for $400.
If You go watch some FJ Videos on UA-cam there are people all loaded up with camping gear up on the OEM rack. You know it's whatever works Best for You. I carry some long kayaks up on My roof so the front top lite bars would not work. I have the FJ fog lamps on My Bull Bar in the front. Great fun dressing up the FJ's eh ?? I also just added the Bushwacker fender flares. Looookin good !!
I briefly considered it but like the look of the FJ better, and the enthusiast community that comes along with FJ ownership is a great bonus. Those 470s are nice rigs.
No space in back for passengers. Mine is a 08 and I’ve had to put calibers on it 3 times and brakes and rotors . 4 sets of tires already and only 130,000 miles. Had 11 miles on it when we bought.wish I had money to get myself a expedition!
Don't worry about loosing any money. I bought mine new in 2014 and its selling right now for $4,000.00 More then I paid a dealer. What Year is it ?? You never say here. Do You have a backup camera ?
Dirona Thanks for the video. Love my Fj cruiser as well. And meh rear factory sensors are good enough for me, But if yours didn't bring them, I'm sure one of those mirror rear view cams won't hurt the budget.
Unfortunately mine is a complete base model and doesn't have the sensors but I have driven an FJ with the sensors and they sure are nice to have. I purchased an aftermarket backup camera with screen off of amazon for about 30 bucks, just need to find time to install it now...
Thanks for the video. I just purchased a 2008 FJ cruiser. It did not come with roof racks and I love the look of your Yacama’s but I don’t see them on their site. Can you tell me how you went about fitting those and how I can get my hands on a pair? Thanks much and keep up the great work!
These were already installed on the FJ when I bought it. The are Yakima cross bars with Yakima control towers, and as I understand it, the previous owner made adapters to bolt the control towers to the FJ roof out of some aluminum blocks. I like the look of the Yakima bars much better than the factory FJ roof rack, and I think they're much stronger than the flimsy OEM rack.
Can't remember the exact dimensions off hand but the overall diameter of the tire is the same as what the FJ came with from the factory. They might look a little bigger than stock in the video because they're on a 16" wheel rather than the normal 17". Now about the 285s...I'm on the hunt for a reasonably priced set right now and intend to find out first hand whether they will rub, so stay tuned for that!
All I know is that they are called Yakima Control Towers and as I understand it, the previous owner of this FJ custom made adapters to mount the towers to the roof out of aluminum. There very well may be an easier solution for mounting them though.
@@TacticalTrainer223 the last year they made them was in 2014. It was a beautiful model by the way. But they can be really pricy. Older models wont go for less than 12gs and we are talking about '07s. So good luck brother try to get one because their prices are not gonna go down any time soon.
Dirona seems to be good for an off-road vehicle. Production stopped for it worldwide even for Middle East market which is still scoring high sales . The reason was the high emissions and poor sales in united states.
Not bad at all, this is the most fuel efficient vehicle I've ever owned. Most of the jeeps I've owned in the past ranged between 12-15 mpg, so I'm happy with it. Will keep my opinion of the US EPA to myself..
I have a bone stock 2007 model. I average 11mpg (far worse than my 07 Suburban @ 17). Same manual tranny. Drive like a little old lady, super light on the throttle (since even ragged out its slower than a crippled snail going uphill in winter). But I still love it.
I just bought a 2009 FJ cruiser ... traded in my Mercedes G 500. like it ! Looks nice in my garage next to my 1982 TOYOTA FJ 40 ........ Which I bought in 1982 new...... So The FJ cruiser is a nice gravel truck but I will stick with my old Classic 82 off road
Nice! Best of both worlds, the old and the new. I'd trade the Cruiser for a good condition 40 in a heartbeat. Can't beat the simplicity of that old metal.
I absolutely love my 2012 Cement ..... you guys got duped in the U.S as base models go.... in Australia we got only one model but it has everything.... I'll never trade it..... the FJ was in production here until 2017.
Dirona The recall affected about 225,000 trucks and but not the FJ Cruiser so I guess it’s no big deal! About 40,000 less units than Jeep Liberty rust recall. The Liberty was a POS new anyway, I wish they had never built it to begin with. And the JK is a study on how not to design a passenger vehicle. The new JL Wrangler is decent, sort of what the JK should have been.
Thought I already replied but guess I must not have hit the reply button. There was never a recall. Toyota had the decency to own up to its mistake, Chrysler didn't. There are a lot of angry TJ owners in the northeast US and Canada whose frames rotted out from under them. The factory never installed drain holes so the frames rotted from the inside out. It's very rare to see a TJ frame in the northeast without patches welded on it (I take a peek every time I walk by a TJ in a parking lot LOL). I actually posted a video about a month ago on how I chose to drill holes in the frame on my TJ (which was imported from sunny, dry California). And I agree, aside from how 'electronic' it is, I like the JL much better than the JK.
JeepCherokeeful hey buddy don’t talk crap lol you own a FIAT CHEAP. That thing is so unreliable even if the frames rot it’ll still last 3x times longer than your Jeep.
My 2007 Voodoo Blue FJ has over 300,000 miles now. I love it.
Makes my 150k mile FJ seem young
Hey guys Has it had any problems?
Thinking of purchasing one but scared of the high milage .
Mine 136 just got it
I live in PR. my 2007 has 40,000m I also love it.😎

Great safety rating too - front & side impact. That means a lot with kids in the back seats.
The safety rating is Very High. They have Air Bags all over the vehicle and steel bars in the doors for side impact protection.

It just makes me giggle.
When I test drove my FJ it was raining and I had the same response when I turned on the wipers
I call it wallet and catch all pocket. I use it every day !!
Good choice!
I just bought a 2007 fj 😍😍 i love her
Hard to go wrong with an FJ!
I just got mine!!!
I love my fj, though I dislike that it's a blind spot on wheels, no removable roof, and the half rear suicide doors
I think many would agree with you
FJ is indeed a great vehicle. Add the undercoat to prevent rusting, and this vehicle will last you for a long time with proper maintenance.
What did you use? I bought a Florida only FJ, so no rust. My boyfriend sprays black rustolium under his truck every 2 years.
Great looking FJ
In the process on getting a 2011 FJ Trail Teams dark green. EXCITED to get it. It is exactly what i want in an FJ. Besides a few cosmetic wear and tear items to fix up.
Nice!
#2 - TOYOTA what does Toyota mean? Toyota means reliability. Toyota means good build quality. Toyota means good resale value. Actually that's my #2 also and my number 1 is also the same as yours. Fist bump.
Nice. Just don't get tired of looking at it
I have always loved the FJ’s.
Dirona I agree. That’s probably why I’ve never owned an FJ. Toyota’s reliability are well known and you definitely pay for that reliability.
The best off-road vehicle ever made.
Depends what type of off-reading you do..
I LOVE my 2012 FJ!!
Tell me how's gas mileage ?
Hahahahah late response
Already bought one red
Tell me how’s the gas mileage?
@@enriqueva6688 not the best but otherwise the best car out there
About 20 to 25 miles per gallon
There is a Company called Pure FJ Cruiser Accessories. They have Everything and You can shop their prices. Most times You won't find a better deal.
@@dironaa toyota still sells them, you can find Toyota dealers online like 89 for front and 69 for cargo mats. Has FJ logo.
I'm considering that vehicle now & your vlog is showing me why I should. Sub'd
I love my 2008 FJ Cruiser.
They’re cool cars!
Hey Dirona can you help me find a good screen for the FJ that supports the subwoofer and JBL system. I tried to find it with no luck unfortunately:(
Thank You for uploading. Toyota FJ is much far better than LR Defender and Jeep wrangler.
Agreed!
Ha ha... oh yeah, the blind spots are wicked awful.
I have the burgundy dual color
Hey guy..., Am fascinated by your video, you are absolutely right; the designers of FJ did an incredible work. As a digital art design I am, the sketching of FJ is rugged and wicked look, despite other SUV out there, like 2021 Land Cruiser, M Benz, Jeep, Ford, Bronco, Nissan, Peugeot and GMC...e.g..which are also stylish, but above all and within all FJ Cruiser has a unique look and incredibly physics when it comes to any obstacles-offroad from other SUV; which is my best SUV?
Well said! The look of the FJ will never go out of style
What gets me is why did Toyota discontinued building the FJ series??? My wife and I love our FJ’s. Best SUV.
Not enough off road places in America. Other countries are still making them.
ziggzagg Zip they just stopped building them in the states in the middle east and asian markets they are still being sold
As per your video - enjoyed the hell out of it ! Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Bought the first one available in AZ! Dec 2007. One bad thing happened.
The E-shift Lo-4wheel did not disengage completely. Got stuck in 4-Hi.
Boiled the front diff fluid out and grenaded. $3800 worth.
Ouch! On the plus side the engine should run for miles and miles LOL
I just bought one, 2014, 79000 miles.
Congratulations!
Just bought one, its awsome
They're very cool rigs!
I just got a 2007 the best model at the time 151000 miles it's really better than I expected mine is automatic transmission it's definitely larger on the inside than thought I hope to have it for a long time 👊🏽💯
I love my FJ and it was love at first sight. That just doesn’t happen with most cars.
They are cool looking rigs!
Dirona Definitely!
6 speed I’m impressed.
What year and how much?
It's a 2008. Just sold it for 15,500 with around 95k miles. Bought an auto with 140k to replace it with...sure miss that manual though.
Dirona Just got me a 2009 with 160k miles on it. Loving it
Why doesn’t your FJ have the mirror lights? Just wondering
Dirona thanks for the reply and the knowledge.... did not know that. When you put the new ones one rip out the diffusers....
The only thing I would hate not having is cruise control. I use that almost every time I drive! Good that you added it in!
Love your video, love your car😎
I searched for 8 months for my 14’. Under 50k miles with zero aftermarket mods.
Good find!
How much did you pay?
@@PiMpLiChEeSs I have a 2008 Xterra with a hundred and ninety thousand miles on it runs like a brand new vehicle however I like my FJ better
Get a land cruiser or Lexus LX570
Looookin good !!
beautiful vehicle
It sure is!
Did you consider a 4runner before the fj? I think the fj looks great. I'm an lexus lx470 owner.
I briefly considered it but like the look of the FJ better, and the enthusiast community that comes along with FJ ownership is a great bonus. Those 470s are nice rigs.
private
Did you take it off-road? My mom has a gx460. Feels like riding a cloud!
Agent. K. I did twice. Nothing crazy hard. But it was fun.
private nope fjc from the start the first time i saw one i said i will own one bought my fisrt car off the show room floor it was an fjc
No space in back for passengers. Mine is a 08 and I’ve had to put calibers on it 3 times and brakes and rotors . 4 sets of tires already and only 130,000 miles. Had 11 miles on it when we bought.wish I had money to get myself a expedition!
Calipers on these rigs are terrible! I've owned 2 FJs over the course of 3 years and have bought a total of 12 calipers for them!
Don't worry about loosing any money. I bought mine new in 2014 and its selling right now for $4,000.00 More then I paid a dealer. What Year is it ?? You never say here. Do You have a backup camera ?
This one is a 2008. No back up camera but I do have plans to install one.
It will spoil You if You never had one before. I can park the FJ in any slot using the camera.
I do believe the tow cap is 6500lbs. I could be wrong though.
Yes just around that amount
The only Toyota SUV's that have Toyota on the front grill are the Land Cruisers!
It looks much better than the symbol!
@@dironaa I agree!
How big are your tires? I'm trying to get Ko2's as well and I've heard that 285/70 r17 will rub slightly with all stock suspension.
What year
2008
2012
Do you have info on the towers/load bars on the roof? I can't find info on what fits the FJ
All I know is that they are called Yakima Control Towers and as I understand it, the previous owner of this FJ custom made adapters to mount the towers to the roof out of aluminum. There very well may be an easier solution for mounting them though.
@@dironaa thanks for the info
I have an old 4Runner. An 07. Eventually I want to get a newer car and I’m torn between a new FJ or another 4Runner
There are no new fjs no more.
BEARDED BEAST I obviously haven’t done too much research lol. What was the last year they made them?
@@TacticalTrainer223 the last year they made them was in 2014. It was a beautiful model by the way. But they can be really pricy. Older models wont go for less than 12gs and we are talking about '07s. So good luck brother try to get one because their prices are not gonna go down any time soon.
Get a 4Runner hands down, unless you like to deal with leaking roofs, replacing torque converters, and rebuilding rear diffs.
@@dironaa Been looking FJ's myself. Does this mean you'd not recommend one? or what would you look for to help ensure a good purchase? Thanks!
hi
i have 2020 blue one in Saudi Arabia.. pretty good ..
nice! what size tires? thx
Can't remember exact size offhand, but it's a stock size tire.
I subbed + Fjc owner as well
Thanks!
Does yours have a lift? Looks nice! I just got a 2008 fj :)
No lift, all stock. Have fun with it!
Dirona thanks I love it already!
very strong SUV...
Could certainly be worse!
No mirrior lights???
It’s a base model!
عاشقشم . میخوام .ولی پولش نیست .
I love it . want it . but I don't have money.
Fuel economy?
I typically get between 17-19 mpg, depending on city driving or highway driving.
I get just 6 kmpl on a 2016 FJ in the Middle East
I have a bone stock 2007 model. I average 11mpg (far worse than my 07 Suburban @ 17). Same manual tranny. Drive like a little old lady, super light on the throttle (since even ragged out its slower than a crippled snail going uphill in winter).
But I still love it.
I just bought a 2009 FJ cruiser ... traded in my Mercedes G 500. like it ! Looks nice in my garage next to my 1982
TOYOTA FJ 40 ........ Which I bought in 1982 new...... So The FJ cruiser is a nice gravel truck but I will stick with my old
Classic 82 off road
How much is a Toyota fj I need one to Africa
Nice! Best of both worlds, the old and the new. I'd trade the Cruiser for a good condition 40 in a heartbeat. Can't beat the simplicity of that old metal.
This vehicle is a tank… I was hit by some dummy and his car was totaled… my FJ needed some work but I am driving it now… Buy one… very upgradable…
Agreed. These vehicles do very well in rollovers too.
I absolutely love my 2012 Cement ..... you guys got duped in the U.S as base models go.... in Australia we got only one model but it has everything.... I'll never trade it..... the FJ was in production here until 2017.
I have a 12 cement with pretty much every option I think they had (just not the trail teams shocks). Great vehicles for sure.
I just subbed
Thanks!
Dirona keep up the good videos
Sounds like you have something stuck in your through. 😥
Maybe your speaker?
no 1 is just opinion. Peeps bought Pontiac Aztek or Nissan Cube also for looks
Read the video title. Its supposed to be an opinion video.
Both the video on likes and the video on dislikes are opinion pieces! It's ALL opinion!
I have a 2014 with only 4,000 miles. For the right price I will sell it to you. It's all stock white on white.
And rotten frames!
Oh man dont even get me started on rotted jeep frames
Dirona I wasn’t aware of any massive frame recall like with the Tundra, Sequoia, Tacoma and 4Runner, do tell!?
