I see this as pushing yourself to the farthest limits, caring for someone who ultimately doesn’t care for you. Either you’re aware of it or not, but you’ve given up on setting a boundary. You’re aware of the exhaustion and that they see you as nothing but a tool, but something makes you just sit there and let them eat up idk what I’m saying

idk if this is just me but some people see this as a cannibal song but for me at least I think of this as sexual abuse and the victim has had enough, like being abused by a family member or someone they trust so they don't have the heart to tell anyone but they just want the abuse to stop and just don't want to live. (This is what I hear from my point of view)

I love this song, but I relate to it too much. I was the therapist friend for so long, and my empathy got me hurt too much and often, so now I’m the burnt out therapist friend who isn’t the biggest fan of being empathetic 😅, but it happens anyways. I like that everyone has a different interpretation of this song. I feel like it can be relatable for different reasons. For me, it reminds me a people pleasers. You're willing to compromise your own happiness and well being to avoid confrontation from others. You're willing to give up so much if it means maintaining an idea of peace.

This feels like being in an abusive relationship to me. Your partner doing nothing but taking from you again and again, isolating you, making you depend on them. And because you are in love with them and believe they 'have their good moments', you stay with them knowing what they are doing to you, just ignoring that and pretending youre fine. Telling everyone worried about you and your relationship that its ok and that you dont mind, when really its eating you up inside. Giving up on ever leaving them or the situation because you dont think theres anything else you could do. You sacrifice everything for them over and over until you have nothing left.

My interpretation of this is that this is a song about anything emotionally and mentally draining. A science project that's driving you crazy, an abusive relationship, economical/political crisis, war, genocide etc.
This song gives obvious desperation vibes, and in my opinion, while the main character refers to someone by the word "you", there's only one person in the song: the MH. He refers by "you" to his dark side, which is a troublesome element growing into his mind.
The MH first confidently gives all the mental capacity he has to it ("You want a taste of my brain? Okay, it's yours anyway"). Then, he starts experiencing hallucinations, and, albeit less confident than before, still thinks it's normal ("You want a bite of my eye, alright, I won't put up a fight"). He then realizes that he's in a decrepit state, and experiences a breakdown, in which he basically begs whatever's troubling him to not bother him anymore and leave him alone ("How about today, you try eating someone else for a change; because the way things are going, I won't last another day").
The now-broken MH starts the next time period by hurting themselves ("as you open up my ribs the blood flows out like a river" in which 'you' now refers to himself as he's now one with the troublesome element or to his desperation and suicidality), and then describes what could be symptoms of extreme starving ("You strip my bones away" may mean that his body is using bones to replenish calcium) and alcohol abuse ("and you indulge in my liver" describing liver damage).
The entire next verse describes the MH coming to the conclusion that it's normal to be in pain, and that it's actually helpful (even though it's not); he's now completely rewired to be a slave of the troubler, and he copes by saying that his sacrifice is necessary.
The last verse describes his last thoughts before his death: he's now completely depressed, and from being full of life at the start, now death seems his only escape.
His last thought is to forgive everything, signalling at Stockholm syndrome which grew because he was enslaved for a long time by the thing troubling him.

I saw someone complaining about how some parts of the song are hard to hear, but I actually like it. I've been on the eaten side of things myself and after a while it can get to a point where your words are slurring or just hard to hear and I like how they portrayed that, intentionally or not.

I quite relate to this song. Feeling burnt out it feels like everything is just.. that. The excitement just dies out. I do sometimes feel happy but that is ever when im with my friends or when im watching something that I take interest in. For me this song is a bed break up he wanted to stay friends i felt i couldn't be without him and so i was used for my vulnerability i did some things im not proud of and was nothing less then a doll for him that he could "play" with it left me unstable i couldn't eat i couldn't even move my mind would always create pictures and hallucinations of horrible things that would cause me to want to be hurt or hurt something he used that to.
