Thank you for the great reaction to another masterpiece by Lucy Thomas. She is still so young (20 this year, 2024) and every performance shows more maturity. Though I had heard this song before including the performance by Susan Boyle, I had never really known the words until Lucy's vastly superior enunciation. Lucy brought me to tears and when my wife explained the story of the character Fantine in Les Misérables which brought a new round of tears. Before Lucy, I cried rarely over music, but she is emotes so well, far better than other singers, that the tears appear often - usually for joy but in this case for the pathos of which she sings. No one is her equal and she just continues to get better. Amazing.
I am right there with you, I watched hundreds of video's with various artists, and never shed a single tear, but when Lucy sings, the tears start poring down my face. I think it is the emotion she puts into each song.
Hi Maria... I am really enjoying your reactions to Lucy. Your comments are excellent and yes, Lucy is a powerhouse in the making and a force to be reckoned with! I feel the same as most Lucy fans in that I don't know anymore how to express how great Lucy is. Every time she releases a new video, it is equal to or better than her previous one. I am going all in with Lucy and say that she is the best vocalist of this generation and someone like Lucy comes around only once in a lifetime. She is a blessing and a gift to humanity!
Yes I agree with you, Lucy is special and is the complete package and in my opinion is destined to become an international superstar. Great reaction to a young lady with the world at her feet.
I agree. This is a very sad ending but Lucy leaves me in tears from the beauty of her voice even though it's a sad ending. She ran that long note and the vibrato to the end, even pronouncing the last "ed" of the word dreamed before the end. Beautiful.
Hello Maria, thank you for such a wonderful reaction to Lucy singing " I Dreamed A Dream " her rendition of this song is just so beautiful & truly amazing. Lucy is just such a very gifted amazing singer, she has just got back from a concert in Tokyo where she sang 20 songs one in Japanese & the Japanese audience just loved her she had over a three minute standing ovation at the end of a full house concert. Her next concert is in London next month. Take care Barbara.
Barbara, thanks so very much for the news on the Tokyo concert - so little has been available. It looks to me as though Lucy is coming close to 1,000 tickets sold for Drury Lane, with almost a month left. Mark, U.S.
Susan Boyle put her stamp on this song and made it her own. Her and this song are inextricably bound. I listened to her official studio recording of this today and it is a wonderful rendition. And then I listened to Lucy Thomas song this song. Out of this world, transcendental vocals. Emotional conveyance, none better. And the way she holds those notes forever and finishes them off with the finest vibrato you could ever wish to hear. I will be in London next month. I will travel all the way from Adelaide in South Australia just to attend her concert. That’s how great I think she is.
@@mmarchman3907 Ann Hathaway’s acting and singing performance in the movie was exceptional and justifiably won her an Oscar and hats off to her for that. Vocally, I still prefer listening to Lucy’s version. Her voice and tone and vocal techniques are exquisite and Lucy also captures the tragedy of a life lost to horrible circumstances but in a different way from that portrayed by Ann Hathaway. Two great artists. It’s a privilege and a pleasure to watch and listen to both of them.
Lucy is amazing at reflecting the emotions that are in the lyrics she sings. Best singing artist of these times. PS - I really like your thoughtful reactions.
Thx for posting. Agree completely - the next release cant get here fast enough. I find this performance to be so good - I am not even going to attempt further description or accolade.
Hi Maria What a great rendition of this tragic song from Lucy.she sings this with such emotion .This is the best version of thi I have ever heard .Lucy is our super star born for the stage .I was at her London concert It was the most fantasic show I have ever witnessed she sang 21 songs had 9 standing ovations and a 5 star review. This young Lady is simply the best. Thanks for your continued support for Lucy.
Virtuosity of voice. That’s what you get with Lucy. But actually you get even more than that. You get emotional conveyance, you get exceptional presentation and yes, you are correct Maria, you get ultimate flexibility. Lucy can sing anything she chooses and her performance will always be top shelf quality. Thank you for your reaction and support.
Hello Maria! Like always your reaction of Lucy, because you find the words I also think about this young Lady. She has the right quantity and quality of emotions for the songs she performs and in addition a pure clear diction in a heavenly voice. Have a wonderful day with Greetings from a 🇩🇪 fan💐
Another song in which Lucy interprets the lyrics as they are meant to be sung. The emotional expressions and delivery is exquisite and at times her voice has an ethereal quality. ❤
This was a beautiful performance from twenty year old Lucy. This was an exceptional interpretation of a sad song and Lucy has become an expert in expressing the emotion in her performances. What will she sound like when her voice reaches it's prime in ten yesr time?. I just hope I'm around to witness it.
Lucy dosen't just sing a song she lives it!,first time i heard this rendition from Lucy i was suprised it didn't give me the shivers!,then i listened again & again & they were there,i think i was so intent on listening to the song i forgot to relax, this performance is understated which makes it even more poignant than some more uptempo performances i have heard!.Lucy is simply a "class act",for her upcoming concert in the West end Lucy will have a 30 piece orchestra behind her!.😊
In this performance, Lucy has sacrificed the power she could have exhibited for the emotion and sorrow that this song calls for. She portrayed the result of making poor decisions in your life without the ability to repair what you have done. Her ability to transform the listener into the emotion of the song is quite extraordinary!
I totally agree with you. Every time, it's perfection with Lucy. Where most other singers are forced to use auto tunes or other devices, Lucy uses only her voice, which she masters like no other, to perfection. For me, it's the most beautiful voice without a doubt.
I have followed Lucy Thomas since March of 2020 when I ran across her by accident; it was love at first hearing. I have bought most of her music, she has been my favorite singer. Recently I ran across another singer that I love. Here is the link to her singing another Les Miz song, On My Own: ua-cam.com/video/ciiuAky8UN8/v-deo.html
i have never heard Lucy sing better and yes Susan Boyle had a huge hit with this it madfe her career but Lucy sings it so differently not the soprano notes low modulated tones . thank you for your comments and promotion for Lucy
A muddled comment and question, which I think is asking for the listeners' preference of interpretation! My preference is for Lucy's interpretation, but I accept that this is a subjective matter! Nonetheless, it is absolutely my belief that there is no one alive today with the vocal ability to 'out sing' Lucy Thomas!
@@michaelhingley4770Depends what you mean by out sing . some may believe Johny cash would out sing everyone. It's all subjective . Horses for courses . One person's meat is another's poison!!!!

Hi , new duet from Lucy and Martha Silent night.
A softer version, from a different perspective from the original or Susan Boyle......did she out sing either ????
