@@rjakeconnelly just way easier than with guild halls in the past. you had to do workarounds to bring objects where you wanted them. Those tools, that will be brought to the guild hall system make things way easier.

Almost. PSO 2 lets you put down custom npcs. They even let you turn them or objects into vendors. However, the scaling and xyz axis tools here look perfect.
I think it's hard to beat Rift Online's, there are so many things that some houses almost seem like a new map. But I really hope that GW2's, my favorite MMORPG, is as incredible and with as much exciting freedom as this excellent review. I'm excited.

There are so many loading screens used for single specific instances. There is artwork most players will never see unless they play every choice in the personal story.
I still hope they'll bring back the original Sparkfly loading screen. The dragon is cool, but it's kind of spoiler-y and only one tiny part of the map is like that.

GW2 has gold sinks and material sinks in the game, but now they will have a huge TIME sink, that will eat up all of some players free time decorating their own homes.
So cool! Being able to clip stuff into the ground & scale stuff so easily is gonna be a game changer (literally!). Having a former Sims dev on the homestead team gave me a lot of faith this was going to be epic. Can't wait, only a bit more than a week! :D

When this game came out we had the time of our life... we were young (21ish) and a group of dudes that (I SWEAR to you) you'd never expect to be playing GW2 (We were a bunch of dirt-track racer and dirt-bikers hanging in the garage with race cars/bikes gear and 3 computers LAN-style gaming GW2 for nights STRAIGHT)... Has been my favorite game ever since and Halloween event is STILL my #1 most looked-forward thing every year... I NEVER thought GW2 would sunset as an unlimited jumping puzzle creator/game LOL... Love it and I am SO here for it...even though I suck at them lol.. I love this community so much.. have made life-long friends and just so happy this game is not only still updated but active and fun still.. it is so comforting.. can't wait to see everyones builds!
oh man lol im normally not into housebuilding stuff, randomly was watching sims4 vids despite not being a sims 4 player (and not likely starting it cuz i can tell ill be bored with it in like 3 days, not technically my type of gane XD). with the building aspect the thing im most interested in in sims4...i can happily just do it in gw2 instead! ive been watching a lit of sims4 build vids and im really happy to say that thus far gw2 might have even smoother build system...? like i know sims 4 u have to turn on bb.moveobject on to turn on the cheat for free moving, and even then i think you need to do things like using another object to anchor other objects, move into position n the delete the anchor object. if gw2 doesnt need such a thing, its already a big step up (nothing against sims 4!! just based on my limited impression!) pretty excited!!
This is literally me rn. The sheer amount of possibilities is baffling. I am REALLY hoping they made the materials easily farmable so that they don't become super mega expensive on TP, because this level of freedom being unusable due to steep prices would be a crime.

The one thing I hope is some form of a save for homestead decorating. why? 1) it will help people who wants to do theme ones like holidays. 2) it would be easier to download from others so you want something added to your homestead that your friend has then, they can share and you copy. like what if I want my whole house Halloween themed? Or Wintersday? etc.

Your house looks really really cute and cozy !! I love the greenhouse you created, it looks so good with the lighting !! Oh my gosh, the building system looks very similar to Planet Zoo's which is extremely in-depth and allows for massive amounts of creativity. I'm so excited for this!
Just want to say - I really appreciate how you include the camera view where field of view is not maxed out, and you're quite zoomed in. Took me years to realize that I once long ago maxed out FoV in GW2, and that absolutely killed my immersion because the view is just not the 'I feel like I am there in third person'. I now play on FoV in the middle and carefully pick my other camera settings, so the game feels much bigger and much more immersive
This just made me realize: the new system to customize your homestead/guildhall is probably going to let the Map Designers have a much easier time designing every map/instance in every expansion to come, starting with the quarterly updates for this one!
This actually looks like the tools the map designers already use in their level editor, I saw a video of them designing a map once and moving objects around years ago
Legit best feature they released in years. But would be nice if they allowed us to have "open invite" mode, where I can choose to let anyone on my friends list, guild or near me choose to check out my homestead without me needing to open a door for them. One of my favorite things to do in FFXIV is just visiting the open housing districts and see what other players came up with. Players can either keep their property open to visitors or lock it if they don't want anyone to enter. It would be amazing to be able to do the same in GW2.

Honestly, I'm just so, so, so glad they didn't mess this up by making it too slim or otherwise uninteresting. Love that there's so much space, this is what made housing in WildStar special. If used correctly, this can be a huge advantage compared to, for example, ESO.
This looks really nice! It looks like they're taking some inspiration from PSO2NGS, which has an INCREDIBLE housing system. I hope they are able to expand on some biomes we can use for our house. Thanks for showing this off! Just came back to the game and am very excited for Janthir Wilds.
@@DreiSchwerterZorro not the case unfortunately. Each armour class of characters will have set spawn points. Heavy classes at the entrance, medium in a forest to the side, and light in a secluded cave area. You can have them follow you around and wait, but as soon as you leave the instance they will go back to their starting points.
I hope the build limit is really high. ESO's housing has had a problem for years where the limit is far too low to ever fully decorate the larger houses.
@@DreiSchwerterZorro Hum, depending on how it works 1000 is quite a lot, ESO limit is around 800 decorations on the mansions, and even then you need the sub to have that, without the sub you only get half of that value.
Usually, Blizzard Entertainment takes things from other games and makes them better, but with the upcoming player housing feature, I highly doubt they would even come close to this. This is incredible!
Congratulations for the sponso. x) It's cool to see the new decoration tool in action. The old one is a nightmare. did you hit a limit on the number of decorations, by the way? It's a problem in hte guild hall: in a given area, you can only have a limited amount of decorations, which can be frustrating when you want to add lots of small details.
probable the only homestead ill ever afford... wonder if there are decorations related to every character race, like it be fine to make a new 'Pale tree' home :)

Even having control of the Night and Day cycle is amazing. Definitely not something I would have ever thought of.

I think you can only place 1000 decorations ... I'm pretty sure though they are gonna have gem store upgrades or something, at least after a while
@@DreiSchwerterZorro Hum, depending on how it works 1000 is quite a lot, ESO limit is around 800 decorations on the mansions, and even then you need the sub to have that, without the sub you only get half of that value.
Usually, Blizzard Entertainment takes things from other games and makes them better, but with the upcoming player housing feature, I highly doubt they would even come close to this. This is incredible!

Congratulations for the sponso. x) It's cool to see the new decoration tool in action. The old one is a nightmare. did you hit a limit on the number of decorations, by the way? It's a problem in hte guild hall: in a given area, you can only have a limited amount of decorations, which can be frustrating when you want to add lots of small details.
There is an overall limit of about 1000 items, but no limits in small areas like guild halls had
