I'm having a big catch up on video watching my friends, thanks kindly for the shout out. Lol I think your citrus are looking better than mine, I think your grow tent provides a better environment than my kitchen in the winter months 😁🤩
Ha! Well, the grow tent definitely helps. :). You are definitely welcome for the shoutout, and it is well deserved. We really appreciate your knowledge and willingness to share.
Awesome share dear happy to see the citrus plant mine is growing in the pot too under the light Happy to the blooms Thank you for sharing 😍5th 👍🏻done my dearest Bro. Have a blessed night ❤️❤️💪🏼👊🏻
We don't have any citrus trees yet, but I've been on the lookout for deals. My plan is to purchase a meyer lemon, calamondin, and key lime tree (dwarf varieties as available) and also some kind of satsuma. This video has lit the fire under me again. It was very motivating to see someone in zone 5 growing citrus trees that look that good after bringing them indoors for the winter. I've mentioned before, we're in zone 6a and we have a growing list of fruit trees we want to grow here that aren't very cold tolerant.
The key with bringing them indoors is having a bit of space. :) But, once you figure that out, it is so fun to watch them grow indoors. Key lime sounds amazing. And the satsuma has to be amazing based on the pictures, but we have never tried it. The more varieties you invest in, for sure, the more you determine which will grow best for you. Would love to see what you end up with. Take care!
Depending on where you live, I suggest getting one from Walmart. The Meyer I bought from Walmart was super vigorous compared to a key lime I got online from home depot. Walmart sells citrus trees with 1/2-1inch stems for 25$ . Mine is blooming indoors right now . I got it in August

The things you guys have accomplished so far north is simply amazing to me. I'm sorry I never did my Fall questions guys. I recorded it a few times and didn't like how it turned it. Happy Gardening guys! 😁🌱
I live in Southern Wisconsin and have just been overwintering with T8 grow lights in front of a southern window. My Tangerine, Mandrian and Meyer Lemon survived but I decided to go the grow tent route this winter. I ordered 2 VIVOSUN AeroLight A100SE LED Grow Lights after seeing what luck you guys are having. Thanks for the inspiring video
I'm I'm 7B/8A(right in between), here the Myer is wierd because they can survive outside but only with good protection In the right location. They also must be very woody and well mulched
Great info! Thank you so much for sharing. Our zone 5 is a little less forgiving during the winter, I think. I have been through Charlotte. Great place!
Yes, you are correct. They are basically controlled by the pot size, so they will likely get no taller than 5-6 feet, and we will prune them as well, so they don't get any bigger. :)
A great video, plenty of information, I don't currently have any citrus, but I'm looking to change that so this was a timely video for me. I'm looking into cold hardy citrus, like Yuzu, or maybe satsuma. Brett has a lot of knowledge, but so do you too. All the best Steve
Thank you sir! Brett is our go to guy with questions for sure. :) I love all that he experiments with. I would think that we have a fairly similar climate in some ways to you, but I think your winters are a little milder but summers less warm. Would that be accurate, do you think?
The Meyers Lemon is something we have thought about trying to get since lemons are so useful. How large roughly were they when you purchased them? They both look really amazing after coming in the house. And are loaded with buds, will be following your progress with pollinating and fruit! We are looking forward to a tour of your indoor grow tent and maybe borrow some ideas on setting something similar up at our place. Also as an aside we have two of the green wire shelves just like yours (we use them for plants and for drying fleece after washing it).
Last year they were only about 1.5" in diameter, but they definitely can/should get bigger this year (up to 1.5x that size, I believe. We will see. I think feeding them and keeping a closer eye them will make a large difference. That green shelf was supposed to be a mini greenhouse, but we found it more useful without the covering. :D As the weather gets colder we think more and more about that fleece and what you make from it! :) I hope all is well.
@@GutenGardening That makes sense for sure its very encouraging to see your trees though with a little TLC they seem to be doing really well! We found the same thing with the mini greenhouse it was better used as shelves (found you could not control the temperature inside it if we did use the cover).
Our soil mix is primarily: coconut coir, potting mix, vermiculite, and then some general organic fertilizer that works well for citrus. The soil holds moisture well and drains well at the same time. And the plants seem very happy right now. :)
When I moved my Meyer lemon plant indoors in late Oct , 90% of the leaves fell off . In late Nov I notice a lot of flowering buds forms and now the whole plant is full of flowering buds but no leaves ? I fertilized with citrus tone a couple of months ago. Do u have any suggestion what I can do to help the leaves come back ?

Ooohhh yayyy! I can't wait for the new citrus series! Way to keep on growing.
You better believe it! :) We are very excited for the potential with these. We will for sure keep everyone updated!

I always find it interesting how you guys have to winter things inside... that's love and patience! Haha.
Don't make me jealous of your climate! :D :D Yes, it definitely adds an element of care that you have to be patient with. :) I hope all is well!
Can't wait to see how it works out. Hopefully you get a bunch of fruit going. Thanks for sharing the information. Have a great week!
We are hoping for that as well, and we will be updating as the changes come. Thank you so much for the comment, and have a great week as well!

Yes! Definitely yes! Feels great to make the plants healthy again. I hope all is well with you!

@@GutenGardening Yes I would think that accurate, your climate is a bit more extreme at both ends of the spectrum.
