Josh you did an excellent job with showing the top five monster fish. You are really a credit to the hobby an inspiration for others and a reason for your dad to be proud.
I like your guys vids but man you just gotta relax this is one of ur best vids recently cause you can really see the passion and having someone to put you on the camera is so important keep up the great work You guys are great people for what you do
Just got done watching one of your older videos and I gotta say Big Betty is looking Really Good these days. She came in a little rough but you guys have really taken Great care of her. Keep it up guys!
It is a lots of fun to watch these videos . I'm a fish keeper with 2 -72G , 2-50G and 4- 20 G long , & 3 14 G cubes. All nano South America and Southeast Asia biotopes.
Hey Josh, I’m not a fish expert but I believe what you called the red belly pacu it’s a mix between the tambaqui and the red belly that we call tambacú back in Brazil. Again that’s what I learned back there and I could be wrong. Thank you guys!!!
“Beginner” & “monster fish” shouldn’t even be in the same sentence. I imagine that has a lot to do with why you are a rescue- beginners don’t know any better. That being said, lovely fish & I enjoy the channel!
@@VinylUnboxings That makes a lot more sense. And I like the way you put that “I interpreted that as”... that’s a great way to respond. Very nice of you!
Oh shut up, do you think everyone born knowing something?! That's why there are people and videos like this to educate and instruct those who want to learn and get started in this hobby duh!!
PLEASE DO SUMMORE OF THESE TOP 5 's... Very interesting and would be helpful to guide the future monster fish fanatics... Hello from south africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦✌️
3:20 - 3:42 Big Betty gives a 360° twirl and strikes a pose while the other two black pacu flank her. I'm reminded of labradors trying to be the goodest boys for some reason :)
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands👏👏 just kidding! Great video Josh!!! As Always going to be a great day when it's starts with an OFR video!!! Love u guys!!
Great video Josh, Man i have to say that those Cichlids in the monster pond are getting big. I hope that you guys do another underwater video soon of that as well as if possible you should do the Koi pond as well.
Awesome! I love these types of videos always learn something new! Amazing how old some of the fish are that makes OFR even more special. Sometime I would like you to tell/ show us the differences in male & female fish the ones you can anyway. Thanks for all you do OFR rocks! Stay fishy & prayers for Tracy
I’d say a “beginner monster fish keeper” would have several years of experience of regular sized fish keeping. But if someone is jumping straight into this hobby I wouldn’t recommend Aros or Pacu.
Amazon red tail catfish would be my first choice, have always wanted one, sort of glad they are hard to come by here in Australia cos i would not be able to stop at one 🙂👊🤜🤛👍🇦🇺🇭🇲

@@MrEarth-dr9sj they are big and slow the little fish are fast, also they get fed big pieces of tilapia so they dont have to chase there food around, im sure things would change if i didnt feed them so well
Is there a way to identify RTC gender or even possibly breed them? What physical appearance do they have to differentiate the gender? Giant Gourami keeper here lol
@@zac71418 well that’s the problem. You see the people coming into a fish store are often ignorant and they don’t excpect the owner or employee to stock a fish that gets 3 feet long lol. The vast majority of people coming into the store don’t own monster tanks and aren’t experts. But the owners know these fish are cute and sell them as babies. The owners of those kinds of stores should be ashamed of themselves but some people are just evil man
Good Morning From Texas and Stay Fishy

I was thinking the same when they had the arro on the list ph sensitive avid jumpers and known to spook relatively easy
I interpretted it as people that are beginners to monster fish, not beginners to the hobby

Informative video. The Pacu looks the real monster because of its shape.
For the normal aquarist an oscar is a monster. For those with under a 75 none of these are for you. But they are some badass fish. Great video OFR
Lol those African cichlids that filtered through to the pond are growing fast

Nope

Bigger is always better. 500 and up
Thanks at least now I know what I'm looking for

👍
When you're feeding them how do you make sure all the fish we're able to consume some food
Got to watch them
Monster fish need to stop being sold , imported and bred. Most end up at the rescue anyways.
People should be more responsible on what they are buying. Also stores/ store owners should be more selective who they sell to
