No everything was not accurate and cannot be in a movie.
Its called chola incident in sikkim state they throw stone because they where orders not to fight with guns and also to intimidated opponents

The best thing that I would like to say proudly is that when this war was fought , our Country was not having good equipments and tanks but still our brave soilders fought with rocks and knives and later China also praised our Indian soilders for their bravery... And the most touching thing is that the dead bodies of our brave soilders were holding bombs so tightly that it was impossible to take them away ...
I'm thankful to god that I was born in a country of such brave people

Rock fight is real. After no gun policy on Indo China border, in order to prevent war situation between two powerful neighbours. Even still stone fight brawal is used in Ladakh border and In Arunachal pradesh border. My Brother is in INDO Tibetian Borders Police Force and it again happen in 2016. We don't use bullets in Chings and They don't use on us. We don't want Nathu La situation again.

Yes, they push them out whenever they intrude but any small lack of judgement can start a full fledged war, there are lot of pushings happening at the border with China without a single shot fired.

Rock fight did happen still happens they often come face to face numerable days throughout hand to hand pushing is very common at the border u can check out at utube.
Rock fight happens even today at Indochina Border... recently, 3 yrs. Back at Doklam plateau....

Rock fight frequently happen between indan n Chinese armies even today. Over boldened n Overconfident China (after 1962) did get an unforgettable bloody nose in 1967 at Nathula from India. It was another legendary battle high up in the Himalayan pass called NathuLa (La means pass)

The scene of stone plenting was right. Its chinese strategy to provoke Indian army but now Indian army had understood all of their strategies and counter them in the same way.And when in 1967 after a defeat of chinese forces they called for ceasefire after which not a single bullet is shot from the either sides till date.

It is based on a real skirmish in 1987. Downplayed at the time in order to defuse the matter and not escalate and humiliate PLA. Nobody wanted a full scale war after all.
