Sorry about the eye strain at the end! In hindsight I shouldn't have made it so extreme.
Anyway here's a picture music video about one of my other faves, Longtail. Tried a few different things here!!
Anyway obligatory explanation for the video in case it's hard to follow: Basically details Longtail's experience when Tigerclaw gets exiled, his apprentice Swiftpaw gets killed, Darkstripe gets exiled, etc. The events of the first series, basically.

Longtail honestly lost so much.
His friends, his apprentice, his sight.
That's why he's one of my favorite characters.

I feel like out of all the warrior cats longtail has had a really tough life, he lost his friends,his apprentice, got blinded by a rabbit,and then got smashed by a tree

Yeah, and I feel like people barely talk about it. *side note, this is kind of random, but I told a friend that didn’t know what Warriors what happened to Longtail and she was like “I feel like those books would be so boring. Aren’t the cats just going to war with dogs for every book?” I wanted to slap her 😂

and then he had to watch his best friend die in front of him.
Longtail would've been a great deputy if he wasn't blinded.

I used to hate him too, now I friggen love the dude.
Those are the best types of characters. The kind that you hate at first, but then they grow so much you can't help but admire them by the time all's said and done.
I also think that longtail could've made a good deputy after graystripe disappeared. I just think he is very loyal and could've proven himself better idk -3- just putting the idea out there.
Longtail is probably one of the most loyal cats in the book

+VanaKitty problem is, firestar isn't a big fan of longtail, and it seems like firestar's a bit biased about who he'd make his deputy. in other words, firestar would never even dream of making longtail deputy.
(plus longtail is blind so it'd be hard to be deputy unless he never went outside camp.)
i do think that longtail would make an awesome deputy, though! c:
You are right that Firestar didn't like Longtail very much but I wished Longtail could've had proved himself loyal, other than just saying that he was. (I think he did in Firestar's Quest)
The only odd thing would be his name... Longstar.
This brings up so many emotions I didn't even know a 3-minute fan video could. Longtail is one of my favorite cats because he disliked Firepaw when he first and it's so . . . interesting(?) to see his enemy becoming the shining star of the Clan and how he doesn't become bitter about it but instead turns into a better cat in the end. AND THEN THE FRICKIN ERINS HAD TO SMACK HIM IN THE EYES WITH A RABBIT BECAUSE THE CLAN WAS HUNGRY AND THEN SMASH HIM WITH A TREE BECAUSE MOUSEFUR WAS!!

Yes I mean, I did find his death a little stupid but he did it so that mousefur wouldn't die so it was really selfless.
I actually love Longtail because he turned from this annoying secondary character always siding with the villain to a nice selfless cat who always put the clan before anything
Explain this because..?
What did I have to do with Longtail's death?
And don't forget the short story in Code of The Clans (I think) Where Darkstripe persuaded poor Longtail to eat a piece of prey instead of taking it back to the clan and causing an elder(?) to die.
The 5 dislikes are from Tigerstar and Darkstripe's accounts because Longtail didn't go with them.

Honestly this is truly beautiful and captures Longtail's emotions beautifully and my favorite part has to be when he's sleeping and all three visit him. You can interpret that scene so many different ways. Maybe he views Swiftpaw's demise as yet another form of nightmare fuel or his nightmare is that he let his apprentice down. Or it could be Swiftpaw chasing away the bad thoughts of his mentor's dreams. Possibly Swiftpaw's death is something Longtail views along with his association with Tigerstar and Darkstripe as something that proves he's truly a horrible cat. It just can go so many ways

Seriously though, this is BEAUTIFUL. It's nice to see a hand painted style PMV for once, and for Longtail, no less! Everyone keeps talking about how awesome he is, but he still doesn't get the fan animation treatment he deserves.

Longtail is always gonna be my favorite character. seriously he goes through so much and loses everything that was dear to him, but as soon as he saw Fireheart as an equal, he NEVER gave up that loyalty. I love Longtail so much.

This was incredibly insightful to Longtail's viewpoint! And I definitely think the eye strain in the end was a perfect realistic touch to his last images when he could see. The style and panning to the music definitely makes this one of the loveliest Longtail PMVs I've seen in a very long time!

Coming back to reminisce and this is still as great as ever. Warriors has been such a big part of my life and this was one of the most memorable videos to me. Thank you for making this, you introduced me to this song and made me a very happy kid when times were rough ❤️❤️❤️
If I’m being honest, a more interesting death for Longy here would be a death from Tigerstar, as payback for not going with him to exile.

I love the watercolour aspect in this. A lot of warriors maps have choppy digital drawing but this PMV is smooth and connected and has a well picked song 10/10

In the Beginning,
He was super bitter with actually everyone.
until at about Moonrise when he starts changing due to the sight.
and i almost cried when he died in Omen of the Stars.
It's sad that there's not more Longtail PMVs out there. He's a really underrated character and he deserves more love. This was amazing and made me love my favorite cat even more

this is so detailed and beautiful. It really made me appreciate what Longtail went through, especially when he lost swiftpaw, and at the end when he was asleep and the cats he was close with disappeared. It made me emotional.

Longtails character development makes me tear up. I love his arc so much. He derserves a super edition of his own.
I used to dislike longtail, but he only acted this way to get tigerstar’S friendship. When it didn’t work he turned into a great warrior and now after he lost his friends and his amazing apprentice,swiftpaw,but despite all of that he tries his best, gets blinded by a rabbit and then dies from a falling tree. This is why he is one of my favorite cats, maybe my second behind Cinderpelt.
(Edit: I also have to say this was such a great video! It really showed the real side of Longtail. )
Oh my goodness- this blew my breath away. That flickering sunset, Swiftpaw and Longtails bond, and him enjoying the beautiful forest scenery. I fell in love with Longtails design. He lost Swiftpaw, Darkstripe, Tigerstar... that’s already to much! Your animating skills are over the charts of professional! Your gold! Beautiful. I loved it. Very awesome job.

I like this character a lot, he was always one of my faves. He had probably one of the strongest arches for a background character from any teen novel i know; learning to live with and respect a rival for the good of everybody around you, despite personal griefs. A great pmv for a very interesting character =)
Longtail is character development at its finest.
The end really got me. I can almost feel how Longtail's sight was fading out until he became blind.
There's the chorus of a song that makes me think about longtail's relationship with tigerclaw and darkstripe, It's called "Remember When" by Bad Wolves.

I feel like LongTail needs more love. I mean, after seeing TigerStar become evil must have crushed LongTail way more then it did BlueStar because LongTail was actually friends with him. And then after the incident with the rabbit was so sad. I always felt guilty when there would always be huge battles that LongTail couldn’t be apart of. I mean, ATLEAST MAKE HIM A MEDICINE CAT! if jayfeather could be med then why can’t he! I just always felt really bad for LongTail and he DEFIANTLY deserves more love

I would absolutely loved to see this remade one day, its one of my favorite PMVs and I think going back and revisiting it with your newer concepts and ideas would look absolutely stunning. I revisit it often to just think while I work haha. Lovely work, and this is one of the few videos that inspired me to continue following art as a career when I was younger :).
It's funny that you say this! I was just telling my friends that if I ever remade a PMV, it would be this one, haha. It's still my favorite and there's things I would change in retrospect but I still love the atmosphere - thanks for your comment, I'm touched that it inspired you ;u;

I never really had any thoughts on Longtail until I watched this... now I wish I took the time to study his character and really understand him.

I've watched this so many times and absolutely LOVE it. Not only is Mt. Washington my favorite song, but Longtail is easily one of my favorite characters from the Warriors series.
The blurring at the end was my favorite. You mentioned that it was a strain and it shouldn't have been so extreme, but I like it that way! I'm not sure if this is what you were going for, but the blurring at the end felt a lot like Longtail going blind.

I’m sad long tail died. He was such a sweet cat. I could relate to mousefur when she was freaking out and sad, altough they didn’t have mates, they seemed like soulmates. Glad he can see his apprentice in star clan with his sight back
