I am new to cnc carving. I watched this video before trying the keyhole app. After about a dozen try’s on scrap, I was able get my machine set up to make the cut on my project. It worked great. Thanks for the informative video.

Thank you so much for this! Sometimes software developers get stuck in a rut and write programs that are counter intuitive. My intuition said the depth per pass should be for the plunge to go up and down on the initial cut. Your tip saved me a lot of headache in getting my keyholes to cut properly. Maybe I'll suggest they add a note to the app that says whatever depth you choose in the app should also be used as the depth per pass.

for the most part I have the keyhole down pretty good. The issue I have is that when I do a horizontal 2 keyholes they don't center on the material when craving.
I combined the two keyholes and centered it on the material. It looked great on Easel but when I carved, the difference from each side was about 1/2" when measuring where the slotted portion of the carve starts

Are you having similar issues of a 1/2” off on the x axis on other projects? Initially, it sounds like a calibration issue

@@PawPawsWorkShop no I haven't seen it- lettering across the X axis is always fine. If I measure from the left side of the board to the center of the plunge hole compared to the right side there is 1" difference. thanks by the way- I really enjoy your videos.
