Yeah, I think in person is the best if you can do it but sadly that isn't always an option...which is why I've played most of my games online. It's really hard to replicate the atmosphere and fun of being in the same room as the players.
Hi im new to d n d and really keen to join my first game. Ive joined the discord and im going to sign up later today. Just a quick question do i need anything before i start such as dice or the players handbook?
If playing online you won't need any dice or books. I encourage people to watch a video or 2 and the basics of rules but even that is needed as most DMs are more than happy to teach the game to new players.
