    I grew up riding Mopeds like they were Moto GP Bikes but I havent rode two wheels in like 12 years ( i'm 32 now) and never once been on an actual motorcycle. Did the research, watched 1000 videos...Now an owner of a 1100 DCT. I have to say, only having moped riding experience, this bike was shockingly easy to ride. From the first day I could do tight u-turns and figure 8's. I know motorcycles are different than mopeds in many ways, but I think those years as a teenager on a moped help out. I already had a sense of balance and how to use body weight and counter steering. But man this bike is easy as hell to ride and I love that. So happy this was my first ever bike!

    Open air throttle therapy is truly a thing. I really hope to get a rebel one day. Be cheaper than a therapist lol. Just be careful of whiskey throttle while backing up. Watched a poor dude dump is bike after first ride. He backed up on a hill while trying to hit the front brake only to be thrown forward by the throttle. Put the bike in neutral to reverse, Drive is always in gear! Have a nice day. Also for the gas tank, I've seen people just push the lid and the key will auto turn. I think it needs to be pressed a little harder then where the cap actually sits to get it to do it.

    if it works best for you in rain mode... ride in rain mode. No reason to care what other people say or do... you do what works for you.
    if you press the gas cap down closed without touching your key, it will snap closed and your key will automatically turn back and you can pull it out, you don't need to turn the key to close the gas cap... and yes, the Rebel requires minimum 86 octane, so normal low gas is fine, unlike many bikes.

      I didn't realize that about the gas cap...good to know. Thanks! And yes, you're right...I shouldn't care what others think about keeping the power low.

      @@motocatz87 Ya for sure, and you always have all the power at just a button push away. Love it that way no need to be all power all the time.

      It's such a fun bike! The freeway is way safer than the streets. You just have to get used to highway speeds and know how to stop with your front brake without grabbing. Safe riding to you too!😊

    It’s so funny, I watch these Moto vlogs, and I can instantly tell where the rider is driving if they’re in Southern California. I don’t live there anymore, but having gone to school in Fullerton and working spending most of my time, cruising around Orange County, I could never feel safe riding around there. Riding to my job in 39 degree weather always makes me alert for work.

      @@motocatz87 too many cars on the road and too many people driving distracted. You stay safe out there.

      Hello JonathanBailon, Thanks for stopping by my channel and Congratulations on your new 1100! You won't regret it, but one thing you may not like is the seat...I had to change mine not long after I bought my bike :) In regards to my set-up-- I have a GoPro 9 attached to the GoPro Media Mod. I highly recommend the Media Mod and not the adapter. The adapter will ruin your GoPro, it loosens the connection over time. For mic, I have the Giant Squid Omnidirectional Mono Microphone. I don’t use GoPro batteries instead, I attached the Anker PowerCore 10000 Portable Charger, 10,000mAh compact Power Bank to the back of my helmet with Sugru. I attach the charger directly to the media mod. You will need a USB to C connection cable enough to reach from the back of the helmet to the front. If you go this route do not put a battery in the GoPro because it will get hot. Ever since I put the battery pack on I’ve never run out of battery on the road. To attach my GoPro I use the SUREWO Aluminum Motorcycle Helmet Chin Mount. I hope this info helps! Happy riding!

    Im looking at getting the rebel...as a new riding when you got yours, how did it feel? Did it feel big? Any suggestions for new rider with a Rebel?

    • @motocatz87
      @motocatz87  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes, it did feel bigger than I thought it would. I also don't have long arms, so I do feel that I'm not riding as upright as I should. I'm going to have risers put on soon. Getting an 1100 as a first bike seems like too much power, but you have the option to lower the power. I would probably keep it in Rain mode until you've practiced with the front brake and throttle. I keep mine in Standard mode to save a bit on gas. I think it has enough power and I've gotten used to it to the point that it doesn't feel too big for me anymore. I also didn't want to get a Rebel 500 because they didn't have them in DCT and I knew I would outgrow it fairly quickly because I had planned on riding into work every day. It's a really fun bike and I think it's great for beginner riders.
