The 7.63mm Mauser wasn't used by the Nazis. They used 9mm Parabellum in all their frontline service weapons. 7.63mm Mauser was used in "broomhandle" C.96 Mauser pistols. A lot of them were used by rear echelon units, ethnic SS units, and auxiliary troops in occupied countries. You couldn't tell a 7.63mm Mauser slug from a 7.62mm Tokarev. They are roughly the same weight and have similar cartridge cases. Only the headstamp would be different.

One of the very few Law and Order cases where I wanted the perpetrator to not be found out or jailed at all. I feel sorry for the victim's wife and kids but fraudulently nabbing the funds out of an old man, a veteran too at that, is disgusting. And it makes me wonder had the victim not been found out and killed by the old man, would have done the same to more old people?
Can’t help but feel bad for Lonnie a capable senior citizen who had all his money stolen from that guys phishing scam putting him back into poverty entire life just gone like that
I gotta say, on the one hand, I'm disgusted by the "victim's" crime. On the other, the poor old man had the chance to pursue the matter through the proper channels and he chose not to.
Love this show. I started watching Hill Street Blues recently and had to stop. Found it kind of weird, odd, too theatrical, incongruent, overacted, not serious enough for my taste. Btw, English is not my main language so maybe I'm not being precise enough with my description of how I felt.
I'd agree ordinarily, but even younger people living on the streets die from illness or violence. Andy H. put an 80-year-old on the street. He had no care if Lonnie had family or friends to shelter him. In fact, I doubt Andy thought much about Lonnie Jackson after he stole the man's home and dignity. Andy endangered Mr. Jackson's life for money and didn't care if the man lived or died. And in this day and age, the greedy, psychopathic disregard for other's lives isn't something anyone should count on to shield them from the consequences of their actions. You get what you give, and Andy got what he gave: Cold and brutal disregard.

The Mauser round fires at a lower pressure, but could still feed reliably. However, I wouldn't put the Tokarev round in the C96 - The Tokarev round has a much higher pressure to it, so you'd be turning your Broomhandle into a live grenade.

Ammo is also an issue - it’s still made, but it’s rare, and also prohibitively expensive. Also I was referring to when they stopped producing it. I think it was in the 60s or 70s. I will check. Edit: manufacture of the broomhandle stopped in 1937, but the gun remained in service until 1961.

You might be confusing it with 7.92×57mm Mauser or 7.65×53mm Mauser, both of which are rifle cartridges.
