Have you copypasted from an exercise in creative writing? LOL . What imperious top would that be in a role written like Mattinata ,just up and down the staff ,the number of times it goes above the staff can be counted on the fingers on one hand ,and the tenor can transpose them down with the audience none the wiser because they won't suspect anything after so much staff score . It is no coincidence the opera was reserved for EC at a time he was cracking on A ,no coincidence BG ,who had the A but couldn't go beyond at the time (at any rate not live), was allotted to the role when EC didn't make it ,no coincidence MDM and all the other depressed larynx proponents sang it
@@Nangis123 A lowered larynx is not the same as a depressed larynx. MDM did not depress the larynx. It was lowered (technically tilted) which creates more pharyngeal space and such a richer sound with more squillo. A depressed larynx creates a thick, fake sound that has no ring and is not loud when it needs to be, e.g. Jonas Kaufmann. As for your crap about Caruso and such, I have no idea where you even got that information from. It sounds faulty and biased. You bring a wholly unpleasant attitude here with no reason, you seem like a very bitter and resentful person. I would like to see your interpretation of this aria since you’re so good. Good day!
I first heard GM on a great singers of the century LP ( HMV ).singing O muto asil .I thought he was magical. HMV issued 5 of these LP's but I could only afford2! My latest aquisition of GM was Pagliacci ( Immortal Performances ). Poor sound ,but great singing offair from the MT. 1934. Henry Webb

The voice saturated in a poignant melancholy supported by a glorious, seamless legato...and his imperious top!
Wow, well stated, and agree,
