Also, if a person has grown up driving tractors and other vehicles with non-synchronized gear-boxes, he automatically double-shifts. I, my self, must take great pains not to double-shift whatsoever.
@Béla Bá still get a cleaner easier change if driver has skill to double clutch with less wear on gearbox, propshaft etc. It's really kindness and feel for the machinery which a lot of people don't have.

l drove a scania 143_450 for 6yrs doing europe,best truck for its day plenty of power and very comfortable,the volvo,daf,merc,ford,iveco,never came anywhere near the scania,climing mont blanc or going over pamplona on the n121was all ways easy great times.
Gearbox was not already at operating temperature (just the engine), so gearshifting while the oil is warming up can be tricky at this specific truck. As you can see, after the hill i´m shifting normally exept double clutching while changing the Range from L to H. All of my other Scania 143 shift way better, maybe the gearbox is a little worn out after 1,7 Million Km.
I'd double de-clutch this truck even if it didn't need it. I know you wouldn't dig the garden twice, but I think it sounds smart......especially on such a lovely sounding vehicle. Really miss manual trucks....bored with all this automated stuff I get given now! Oh well, that's progress I suppose........

Isso porque no Brasil comercializaram a caixa 5+5 até muito tarde. Aqui na Europa, até mesmo as últimas 142 de 1987/88 poderiam ter como opcional a caixa 3+3 com overdrive, GRS900. Aqui pelo contrário o V8 era económico, mais que o 113 e um andamento bem superior. Com 24t no lombo.
