    I'm a bit late to the party! I've got a B5 Element ( in black ) with the MarkBass preamp. It plays and sounds great after I set it up properly ( intonation on the G is challenging!). It's a fantastic bass! Plays beautifully and is one of those rare basses which sounds good whatever the pickup blend and eq is set at, and the passive sounds have a nice mid range. Balance and weight are perfect too! Despite having a gorgeous Shuker J5, Warwick Corvette 5 ( not RockBass) and Japanese Ibanez SDGR 5....the Cort is my "go to" gigging bass now. Massively underrated, and crazy value for money if you're prepared to set it up right

    Which is better the cort C5 plus or element b5? In my country, the B5 is cheaper, is it of lower quality? I can't find any information about it 😢

      I haven't tried a C5 Plus, I reviewed the B5 Element back in 2021 and Cort's catalogue changes constantly. Have a look on Cort's website for your local distributor details. Cheers!

    Just a question, is the color of the back reddish or more like a dark brown?
    Because on the big T website, their pic show it rather red but on some other places it look almost black. I would like to get one but not if it is reddish.
    Thx!

    hello, do you think the pickups Bart mk1 is good enough or it might be swapped and replaced by American made ?

    • @BrooksysBassCorner
      @BrooksysBassCorner  2 роки тому +2

      My advice would be to use your ears as only you know how you want your bass tone to sound. I thought the whole package was very good but at that price, replacing the pickups wouldn't be an expensive upgrade so it depends on what your taste is. But I liked them!

    Would you recommend it over a yamaha trbx305?

    • @BrooksysBassCorner
      @BrooksysBassCorner  2 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the comment. I haven't played a trbx305 for a while, 5 years in fact. You'd need to play both to see which suited you best. The Yamaha will have the clarity that their pickups provide but it will sound less woody and throaty than the Cort. Would very much depend on the tonal flavours that you are after. Cheers!

    • @dymanite94
      @dymanite94 5 місяців тому +1

      I'm sure i'm waaaaay to late to this party, but as it happens I have both. The yamaha has more distance between the strings, and in my opinion a more crispy sound (if needed). However, yamaha is an active, while this has both. Furthermore yamaha seems to detune faster. The cort does not have the same 5 split *mode* option (fingerstyle, slap, plectrum etc) but you can still get those sounds if you know how to setup, granted it won't be as instant as with the switch. Both are amazing!

    Hi Mike ,
    I hope you had a great weekend whether you were out playing Live or just chilling...
    I always liked Cort Bass Guitars & i have had 4 now but only 2 i still have... They may not be to everyone's taste but you can't say theu dont give you value for your money or maybe im just biased towards them...
    I know you dont know much about Aria's though you do own a sweet Aria Pro II SB1000 & I was wondering if you knew anyone that can clear something up for me...
    That Red Aria Pro II SB1000 bass guitar is still on Sale as it was a case of more than 1 Seller Advertising it & the link i was watching ran out of time & i mistakenly took that as the Aria being Sold but instead its still up for sale with 1 last seller trying to sell it on but i dont want to pay the money hes asking if its not a made in Matsomoku Japan Aria as these were the one's that had that distinctive sound built into them before they stopped production in 1986...
    The only otger Aria's kicking about are the Aria Pro II SB1000 Reissue but my efforts to find out if the other Aria's that dont have Matsomoku on the Front Headstock are in truly made in Matsomoku before they closed down in 1986 to 1987...
    I know , as you've told me that you dont know that much about them but could you check your Aria Pro II SB1000 bass guitar to see if Matsomoku is on the Front of the Headstock...
    Ive written on so many Bass Forums for the last 3 weekd rewuesting information about this but all the Chats are well over 10 years since anyone posted anything up & ive had no reply as of yet!...
    Not having Matsomoku on the Front Headstock " is as far as i know " really only seen on the Aria Pro II SB1000 Reissue & it wouldnt take much for some one to swap out the newer bridge & put a vintage original bridge on it so that helps to make it look like its an older bass guitar & therefore a Matsomoku made bass guitar...
    If you could ask around as to if all Matsomoku Bass Guitar had the name written on the Front Of The Head then i know someone is trying to pass off a Reissue for a vintage original...
    If yiu can ask around with other musicians or those who may know this i'd appreciate it as vintage Aria Pro II SB1000 & a JD Supernatural Series I Bass Guitar are on my earlier than normal Bucket List as i know i dont have long to go & hence why i started trying to get my last 2 Bass Guitar's being a vintage Aria Pro II SB1000 & a JD Supernatural Series I Bass Guitar...
    Ill add the link below for the one thats on Sale just to jog your memory as i remember you saying exactly what i thought & that it was in great condition but is that because its a made in Matsomoku Japan thst has been looked after (which ive rarely seen look that good) or a Reissue trying to pass itself off as a Vintage Aria Pro II SB1000 bass guitar...

    As Always All The Best & Take Care...
    Ps
    I never was a huge fan of pedals & only used all Boss made , Graphic Equalizer/Chorus & Digital Delay though i would plug my bass into our lead guitarists set up of pedals & just experiment on what i could do with a Wah Wah Pedal/Distortion & all the other effects pedals he had but i'd only do this when we stopped rehearsals for a break & a bite to eat...

      I think that is enough to warrant buying that other one as there seems to be no information about why certain Aria Pro II SB1000 Bass Guitars have Matsumoku on the Front Headstock & others don't...
      Cheers Mike I'll go to my Bank as soon as feeling a bit better (& hopefully that one on Ebay hasn't sold) & I'll do a Bank Transfer...

      Hi Mike ,
      Just an update on the Aria Pro II SB1000 Bass Guitar...
      Well as Bender in the Cartoon TV Series " Futurama " would say " I'm Boned " lol
      The Seller of that Aria Pro II SB1000 Bass Guitar in Red & Natural Finish Neck Thru Finish completely ignored my messages to let him know I was buying it & it wasn't when it went back to the 2nd Seller (as the owner was advertising it on 2 different eBay Seller accounts ) so it could sell twice as fast & sure enough it had Sold & I didn't know this from over the weekend to last night as the wind Seller was kind enough to reply...
      You don't normally expect that sort of behaviour from the Japanese Sellers as they are always polite/will do what they can to help & actually care about their reputation but I know not tp bid or buy anything from that First Seller as there was no need to act the way he did but I guess some of them are arseholes just like some Westerner Sellers can be also...
      I was seriously pissed off but no put off & I found another 1981 Made in Matsumoku Japan in all Natural Finish...
      I chatted with the Seller last night , which was his morning because of the time difference , & I asked if he could please keep his 1981 Aria Pro II SB1000 Bass Guitar by for me as his was ighly extra & I need to put a couple of hundred pounds in to cover the Shipping & he was fine with this...
      So I'm hoping I can bag this one as it looks in good condition considering its 40 years old & the original bridge isn't in as good condition as that other Aria sold out from under me but Hey I'm buying a vintage 1981 Aria Pro II SB1000 Bass Guitar which was made in Matsumoku Japan, so I've got to expect some eroding of the original bridge...
      All I'm interested in is getting an original Matsumoku made in Japan Aria Pro II SB1000 Bass Guitar that the electronics are fine & so is the pickup as these line of bass guitars are the only ones that can deliver that John Taylor sound he used in the first 3 Albums & if I have issues later on with the pickup or electronics I'll just get them swapped over as (if I'm correct) the 6 click switch Selector of different sounds are built into a different part or can that be swapped out if it plays up...
      Basically it's only in the last 2 months I found out that the Aria Pro II SB1000 Bass Guitar had pre-built in sounds which you can change by picking one of the 6 selections as I thought I had the ability to change the sounds like on other bass guitars but when i just click from 1 preset sound to another is even better...
      I need to rest Bud as I hade a rough Night with my Fibromyalgia and M.E & I had tp drag myself to my Bank to put in an extra £200 to cover P&P & Shipping Fees but I know it doesn't end there as I still have to pay Import Tax which I hope isn't too much but then again I've waited 30 years to own one of these bass guitars & as long as its working I'm fine paying the Import Tax...
      I know the Nut is Brass & that'll come up nicely with some brasso just light the string Retainer on my Status KingBass Artist Bass Guitar did & that was completely dark & black looking as it was so dirty...
      It was my 55th Birthday on the 28th of June & I was hoping to get that other Aria , as I was buying it as a birthday gift to me , but at least I'm hoping but tomorrow in our GMT & in the Japanese morning I'll have paid for my 1981 Vintage Aria Pro II SB1000 Bass Guitar & if all if fine , all I can say is it was " unbelievablely & truly " worth the wait...
      You Take Care & I'm fast running out of your upads to watch... Do you have anything you'll be putting up soon or will it be next month , either way All The Best & Take Care...
      Paulo
