I'm a bit late to the party! I've got a B5 Element ( in black ) with the MarkBass preamp. It plays and sounds great after I set it up properly ( intonation on the G is challenging!). It's a fantastic bass! Plays beautifully and is one of those rare basses which sounds good whatever the pickup blend and eq is set at, and the passive sounds have a nice mid range. Balance and weight are perfect too! Despite having a gorgeous Shuker J5, Warwick Corvette 5 ( not RockBass) and Japanese Ibanez SDGR 5....the Cort is my "go to" gigging bass now. Massively underrated, and crazy value for money if you're prepared to set it up right
I haven't tried a C5 Plus, I reviewed the B5 Element back in 2021 and Cort's catalogue changes constantly. Have a look on Cort's website for your local distributor details. Cheers!
Unfortunately, I did this review 3 years ago and I don't own the bass. I believe newer versions are available so maybe email your local Cort distributor for details and confirmation. Cheers!
Just a question, is the color of the back reddish or more like a dark brown? Because on the big T website, their pic show it rather red but on some other places it look almost black. I would like to get one but not if it is reddish. Thx!

My advice would be to use your ears as only you know how you want your bass tone to sound. I thought the whole package was very good but at that price, replacing the pickups wouldn't be an expensive upgrade so it depends on what your taste is. But I liked them!
If you enjoyed this demo, make sure you check out other demos from the *SOUNDBITES* playlist here ua-cam.com/play/PLzsXx_Ra8MWsZGaUO4a_Lfshir8vzKJWY.html
Thanks for the comment. I haven't played a trbx305 for a while, 5 years in fact. You'd need to play both to see which suited you best. The Yamaha will have the clarity that their pickups provide but it will sound less woody and throaty than the Cort. Would very much depend on the tonal flavours that you are after. Cheers!
I'm sure i'm waaaaay to late to this party, but as it happens I have both. The yamaha has more distance between the strings, and in my opinion a more crispy sound (if needed). However, yamaha is an active, while this has both. Furthermore yamaha seems to detune faster. The cort does not have the same 5 split *mode* option (fingerstyle, slap, plectrum etc) but you can still get those sounds if you know how to setup, granted it won't be as instant as with the switch. Both are amazing!
Nice 👌🏻 you should do some low end bass demos like Harley Benton’s etc for a beginners market. And test out some micro bass amp heads. Like to know your thoughts on all of the above :)
