- Bluey The Sign theorys have been going wild about what did chilli and frisky do at the mt cootha lookout as teenagers because it wasnt "think"..and Joe Brumm the creator of Bluey just did a interview about the new bluey episode The Sign on the Gotta Be Done Podcast and confirmed it was a simpsons reference!

I think "drinking" is most likely correct. If the creator of the Bluey made the scene a reference from the Simpsons, and it's insinuated that Homer went to go "drinking" then Chilli and Frisky must have been drinking too.
It also rhymes, which is what I took away from the way she emphasized it.
I've heard more controversy over Pretzels "Mums" line than this Chilli and Frisky topic.

My sister and i just watched The Sign and i will admit I have never sobbed so much in a TV show. My family is moving to Cambodia in a few months, and the way Bluey was reacting to her family moving just hit too close to home.😢 This episode is absolutely one of the best episodes of any cartoon, and while im sad Bluey is ending, im glad that it went off with a banger.🎉

The "lizard queen" reference isn't just a reference to The Simpsons. It's more meta than that. Both are a reference to Jim Morrison of The Doors.

When I heard that line I thought 'so THAT'S how Bluey was made' but then remembered, Bluey came along later when Chili was an adult
Given that it was a lookout with “binocleears”, my initial thought as to what Chilli and Frisky did there as teenagers was to…”peep” at people.
In particular I was reminded of Back to the Future. Early in the film when Lorraine was talking about how she and George met, she asked him “What were you doing, birdwatching?” And in 1955, we and Marty learn that he was peeping at girls through windows.
But knowing that the intended implication was drinking puts the episode in a new light. Frisky already went to the juice shop, and maybe Chilli thought that Frisky went to the lookout to get drunk or something.

I had a mix of thoughts that almost included everything... Cause teens can be rambunctious. Sneaking off to The lookout to Drink or Do drugs is very likely but also If you are going there to drink you may experiment too see what life can give you (A little kissing? Do we like this? Do we like each other? A Bi Curiosity.). Frisky and Chilli are very close friends.
I just assumed it was a place to vent their frustrations and grievances.

I honestly feel like Bluey is a more healthy (but equally entertaining), family-friendly version of The Simpsons. The writing has a very similar, clever sense of humor and a similar emotional core behind all the laughs. After “The Sign”, Disney+ recommended “The Simpsons” afterwards so that might be saying something too

The road that winds up Mt Cootha, has plenty of space for cars to park, under the public lookout, overlooking the quarry. There were places with privacy and romantic views looking out to the expanse of the city. Teenagers, together, in cars parked, seeing beautiful views and privacy. A little more than drinking folks. Private enough, but there were enough police patrols. Illicit smoking probably happened but that would have very risky. Back in the 80's and 90's Queensland cops were not exactly open minded. Maybe down the Valley they were.

I finally got to watch the sign today and I just wanna say the ending made me tear up a little bit
It was a great episode, it's now one of my favorite episodes and the ending was just great unlike all the other episodes. I'm excited to see what's next for bluey and her family ☺️

Mt cootha lookout was a very popular spot when we were younger for groups of friends to drive up there, hangout and talk shit before the couples would split up and spend some “quality time” together
As someone who has always loved the Simpsons and just now got into bluey, I love the references 🤩

It has been quite a while since I listened to Gotta Be Done. I guess I was waiting for Season Three to complete to listen to the new episodes of the podcast.
I'm surprised that The Simpsons (and other "family" animated shows) haven't referenced Bluey yet. I could see the Heelers turning up in a Simpson's couch gag. (Maybe with Chattermax standing in for Maggie.)
Possible theory: Were where frisky’s parents
Looking back at both stickbird and the sign, I now believe the reason why bandit was upset in stickbird was because he was offered the new job but it would mean they would have to move to a different city. And the reason why he was lost in thought was because he was worried how it would affect his family. I assume he told chilli first before they headed out to the beach, but chilli tells him not to worry about it now and just enjoy their holiday. Hence why she says “let it go babe, you’re missing all this.” She saying we can worry about the new job offer later, let’s just enjoy our holiday. And it could also explain when bandit says to bingo “when you put something beautiful out into the world, it’s no longer yours.” It could be because he made a discovery during his six week trip in curry quest and that’s what got him the new job offer and I assume over the course of the episodes between stickbird and ghostbasket, He and chilli discussed it for quite a while and decided to move but both of them were unsure if it was the right decision as we see throughout the sign. And when bandit got the phone call where Bucky explains to him the sheepdog couple cancelled the sale, I assume Bucky tried to convince bandit he’ll find some new people to try to buy the house but ultimately bandit decides he and the family will stay as throughout the sign he and the others realize they have a great life where they are now. That’s my theory.
Im was thinking chilly meant when they were thing about their future, We dont know when Bandit and chilly meet and gotten married, but i figure they talking about marriage and children, maybe gossiping about boys like bandit and rads, since when we saw them in double babysitters they knew each other from bandit and chilly wedding, i figure they like each other for while but was too afraid
I was thinking mabey they were both bi and had a relashionship with each other and would go to the lookout to umm mess around but then they decided they were better as just friends.
So in The Farmer story, did you notice that the neighbors resembled the other girls? The tall, lanky one was Socks, the short and stubby one was Muffin and the orange one was Bingo.

Probably talked about everything and anything on their mind. Maybe this is where Frisky told Chili about her and Bosco breaking up and that's what set Chili on the mission to hook her best friend and Bandit's single pringle brother up.
