A simple phone call takes the wind out of Heisenberg's sails, The birds-eye shot reinforces the fact that Walter really is just a small man surrounded by darkness.

Sandeep probably a mixture of the 2, breaking bad is amazing at foreshadowing/symbolism I mean why do you think the pink teddy was in the show, that sparked half the theories around the show, but it could just be a great exposition shot instead of having really forced dialogue from Walter saying something which would take tension away from the scene like “is someone there”

Even without the context of BCS, this was a really bad plan. Did he really think he could just walk up some evening to the house of a drug mogul like Gus Fring, whose organisation rivals the biggest drug cartels in world and makes billions of dollars, and shoot him in the face? All by himself? No backup? No escape plan? No professional expertise? It’s baffling. No wonder they just sent him back to bed
Walt legit thinks he and Gus are birds of a feather. He even says as much when they first meet. They're both mild middle-aged men who hide in plain sight. The difference, though, is Gus doesn't solely rely on his public image for security, but Walt does. Walt had zero defense against people coming at him at home, while Gus had contingency upon contingency.

According to several sources I've read. Bryan Cranston was actually on his way to brutally murder Giancarlo Esposito after a dispute the two had during shooting earlier in the week and had recruited the community college a/v kids that Jimmy uses in BCS to capture the murder.
If it hadn't been for Tyrus witnessing the altercation and feeling compelled to look out for Giancarlo's safety, he would never had been lurking in the bushes to call off Walt from executing his boss. Just incredible authentic commitment from both actors.
