Those back roads…… ❤ The “windpompe” of the Karoo ……❤ Annelie and Mia’s faces while cleaning Frikkie’s tummy and paws …..😂 . Thanks for the midweek episode! Loved the drone shots of the endless dirt roads..

So interesting, your trek across the Karoo - I suppose through many farms, given all those gates. I felt for you hopping in and out to open and close them, but the result was very rewarding. Frikkie was a laugh a minute and watching you two cleaning him up after his waddle in the foul muddy water, was so funny but so understandable too. There is nothing worse than a wet smelly dog at close range. Thank you for the view of Merriman - I found the houses there interesting.(I so wanted to pass that way on my trip, for old times sake, but my disgruntled companion was making a fuss about trips out of our way, and how much petrol it took. So I thought to myself, another time without her!). I love those old houses like the one in Nieu Bethesda, I think of the families who once lived there.

@@nonibbs Hi Penny! Thanks for riding along and enjoying the experiences with us, even if it involves trying to clean up a smelly dog! 😀. We share tour sentiments about the old houses. There’s more on Nieu-Bethesda in the next video. All the best!

26:15 I love Nieu Bethesda it's such a lovely quaint town with Amazing history. Enjoy yourselves.
You guys had me in stitches opening those gates, especially when you put the video on fast speed it reminded me of the old Laurel and Hardy movies 😂

    Hello guys ❤
As promised, I'd pop up again 😊
I'm just amazed at the vast expanse of the Karoo.
Places like Merriman always make me so curious as to who can live there, what they do, and where they even get any supplies from!
Annelie, you need to change your social media handles to "the gatekeeper" 😂
Your Daisy Cottage was more like a Daisy Mansion 😅 It was surprisingly big!
Those blooming pear trees were lovely, and I'm sure you enjoyed relaxing under them!
Frikkie, as usual was so precious, even if he was stinky lol
Will catch up on the other video and comment soon 😊
    Love to you both ❤

Hi Kate, great to hear from you and that you are keeping up with the videos 😀. Annelie is the official BRC gate opener! 🤣. Daisy Cottage was indeed way larger than we thought it would be, but such a lovely place to stay, it is basically in the center of town and close to everything... All the best to your mom as well 😀

This part of the Karoo is different with tortoise surprises and eight + gates to open well done Annelie Mia and Werner.
    Frikkie loved exploring too hehe
Nice to see the windmill and a few creeks.
Looking forward to your next day at Daisy cottage.
