Keep doing what you are doing, Cam. Don't be afraid to to ask for support or whatever. I feel like doing this kind of thing, regardless of the income it produces, is living the dream. The world needs more art and you are providing that (piano players are not, however).

Life is weird, some time ago I was working saving for my retirement, then boom here we are years later and I have been widowed 7 years and retired 22 years, looking forward to a few more playing guitar again walking my 7 month old Patterdale Terrier 3 times a day.
I never thought this time would come but here we are still on this rock hurtling through space, wondering about the meaning of life, watching real and now imaginary folk on a screen.
I remember when having a watch on your wrist that can communicate world wide showing the face of the person was so far fetched science fiction no one would have believed it was possible.
Then sputnick, moon landing, satellites on and on, Try to tell that man Bach what was coming, crazy crazy, but we still play his music😊😊

I will admit, I thought the idea of doing a Beatles arrangement was a little tacky at first… but then I attempted the Takemitsu arrangements and they are pretty slick.

Congrats on log 250. And I was about to comment how there were parts in the Morel 1st movement that were awesome - can really hear the voice separation in the first part - and the tone color changes in the middle section - I was surprised at your post performance comments. Paving driveway at a party metaphor 😀

Yeah I’m just realizing that I’m starting to get in the habit of reacting negatively to my playing, it happens. I’m gonna stop doing this because no one likes a a negative Nancy, and also the power of suggestion can be quite powerful, and me calling myself bad ain’t good for business
I don’t see your reaction as a Negative Nancy at all, but rather showing your passion in pursuing a certain level of performance- this is a practice log anyway and you are showing us your process . I think it’s good for business - your honest take and high bar you set for yourself. (I was surprised because I was expecting a positive reaction, to my layman ears I thought it was a really good take ). The power of suggestion bit - better than being complacent….(As I’m typing reply, I’m hearing “It’s a nice ceiling I get comments on it- I’ll show it to you.” 😀)

Thank you! Yeah it’s slowly getting better, it would probably heal in a week or two if I just took a break but I don’t want to do that😄

99% or us are Janitors to some degree ....I dislike the word job...Work is a better word and I am doing that all the time unless in deep sleep( and maybe that's where the meaningful work takes place)

The interesting thing is you do seem to have tons of time for practicing every day, while also going out, on walks, to the gym. It sounds like you do nothing much.
But you also say you teach many hours most of the days, you edit for 1.5 hours daily..
Maybe you are just well organized and don't waste time. Also no kids and stuff. So I understand why people would write stuff like 'get a job' without much context.
Truth be told, I probably have more free time than you. I have no responsibilities outside of working for 8 hours at day from my home office. :D And I feel like you have a lot of free time watching you. I only manage to practice like little over hour daily.
But I think it just comes down to me wasting time and you working on stuff. I mean, I am literally lying in bed after work watching youtube as I am writing this and I will waste time on the internet for hours today, like every day. I could instead go to the gym and then practice for 3 hours but I don't.
So all in all, you're doing well, good work ethic, tons of time to work on stuff you enjoy. Living the life.
I do find that I manage my time quite well, but I also work from the moment I wake up at 9am all the way to midnight. But also most of my work is just hobby project stuff like this so I’m really just keeping myself busy. I only teach like 4 hours a day at most (that wasn’t always the case)
