Rest in Peace B.B. King. You are a ray of human and musical sunlight that'll never stop shining. I saw this king 3 times when growing up and he remains a huge inspiration to me. Amazing human being and a fantastic guitarist. Here's a little tribute in the shape of the story of his guitar 'Lucille', followed by a B.B. King style backing track! #bbking #RIP #89 #thanks #truemusic #guitar #inspiration #goodvibes #blueslegend #bluesjamtrack #guitarlove #smileatlife
I was lucky enough to see Mr. King in Houston late 1980's. A 200 seater maybe. He was way too popular to be playing a small venue like that but out of kindness he did it. He's what you call a showman. I left knowing I seen the real deal. Very spontaneous performance, chatted and kidded with the audience. What a guy!
I play my tenor sax on this track and I am happy one and a thousand times. Thank you very much for tremendous tribute to our beloved BB King. Hug from Argentina in Spanish
The one thing I find sad about a lot of blues players you'll hear today is that they have the guitar chops but not the emotion. It's not how fast you play or how many notes you hit it's the expression and emotion that make it the blues. Great playing and great track! I cried the day he died. He was the reason I started playing the blues. It's the days I feel the lowest that picking up my guitar and playing the blues sounds the best. Keep the Blues alive!!
You're spot on. There are loads of technical guitarists better than "the greats" but that doesn't mean shit if you can't feel it. Like buddy guy, he's not a shredder or even a fast player but you can feel his music on a deep deep level
Man. I like that! I’m not a real fast chop player and I get discouraged because of all these other guys going crazy.... but it’s how sweet those cries can ring out
hey ,if anyone else is searching for blues jam tracks try Sarparder Blues Jam Starter ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my work buddy got excellent results with it.
Thanks for this tribute to the immortal BB King I too had the honor of seeing/hearing him in concert on several occasions. He had a extraordinary heart and his love of playing for others is testified by his tour schedule of 300 show/year for 50 years (at least that's what I remember reading somewhere!).
This is fun, you can play D Major or Minor and even jump between both scales and it sounds awesome. It's Major, obviously, but playing D Minor gives even more Jazz to it, what a magic, I love it.
RIP BB King. Grew up listening to your greatness and a little of my soul left with you today. These a special place in heaven for you. You've earned it.
I've long been aware of the presence of a mysterious and prolific Thumbs-Down-Douchebag-Brigade here on the U-toobz, but I cant fathom how 340 of them managed to all converge and pick on this completely outstanding track. How could anyone who clicked on a blues track, ever been disappointed enough with this to have bothered with a negative review??
my all-time favorite blues jam!!!!!!! Me and my neighbor jam this…him on the guitar and me on the bass 👌🏻 this video has inspired me to play and I love it so much. Thank you so much for it!!!
This Tribute Track to BB King is so full of feeling… I believe BB would’ve truly enjoyed playing lead over this beautiful track…🎸🎶 RIP MR. BB KING… Thank You Quist! I have a homework assignment on a Guitar site I belong to where I have to mix in some Lead over the top of any Blues Backing-track… I believe this will be the perfect track for my homework!
As a newbie bass player this is a perfect track for me. Love it! So in honor of this (and with tongue firmly in cheek) I have written this for you. "Does a perfect song even exist?" Pondered a player named Quist So he wrote and he wrote Mad demons he smote Cause baby it's all in the wrist (With apologies to you and every poet/songwriter in the known universe :) ) Thank you!
Quist: I am just learning how to play the harmonica and your backing track was recommended. It is wonderful! I am subscribing to your channel and looking forward to hearing more of your tracks as I attempt to learn the harp. Cheers. P.S. YOU ARE A GREAT GUITAR PLAYER (as if you didn't know that already)!
Thanks Quist. I'll be jamming to this with my Washburn HB-35 (natural). I have been trying to find inspiration to name her. In honor of BB, perhaps 'Lucy'' is an appropriate name after all.
Thanks Mr Quist. You're such a talented artist my dude, I look up to your playing a lot you are very versatile. Your tracks have helped me expand a lot in my lead and rhythm playing !
Love that Jerry Garcia snap in your tone....... anybody who's bought a compressor pedal and lost interest because they can't hear it doing anything....... listen to the lead in beginning segment. I recall the days when MXR's "DynaComp" was the one and only :) Yes, that was a half-century ago :)

Quist, hello again - as promised, I posted another March entry to this track, this time playing Elmore James style slide! Here is the link (and I included a link to the track as well). Thanks!!
hey Quist, love your tracks, and I always watch and listen to you play before the track. Could you possibly give us a better view of fretboard in the future? Seriously, thanks for the videos you make. You are a real content creator.

Thanks for the story about BB and Lucille : )
SIRONEDRAGON I think it's a story worth telling..
not only did Lucille speak but she sang and screamed the blues, your playing at the beginning was awesome! very close to the king himself
+Stephen Barlow thank you very much.. I saw him play quite a few times as I was growing up... he's just amazing in so many ways..
+QuistJam man your solo left me speechless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting back to playing blues harp after fifty years. This is a great track to jam to. Practice practice PRACTICE! God it feels good again!
I play my tenor sax on this track and I am happy one and a thousand times. Thank you very much for tremendous tribute to our beloved BB King.

BB mixed major & minor a lot, it was a big part of his sound!
Loved playing my harp with this. Lots of fun.
RIP BB King. Grew up listening to your greatness and a little of my soul left with you today. These a special place in heaven for you. You've earned it.

Thanks for this man. Just learning guitar and messing around with scales over this track is the most fun I've had so far.
And on the 7th day, he created B.B. King. It's been a great week, my blues lovin' friend. Thanks for all the nice tracks

It is remarkable. Quist rules, anyone downvoting him is losing at life.

Quist Jam You are a great guitar player, do you have any blues lick/chord lessons? You should bring some out if not!
I love playing along with your tracks. I play blues piano and would love if there were some guitar leads in these, like you have in the beginning 😀
1:14 is when the track starts

Do you remember?
February 17th?
Was just you and me
And you took a seat
And you said, my man
Beat all your beauty
I caressed your face
"You're perfect for me"
And you asked me, since when do I, see beyond the physical
And my mind said: ever since I met you
Kicked me on the floor, you laughed as I bled
And my face you dragged, with a drunken fist
I was falling asleep so I begged you, please
You got on your knees and undressed my jeans
You remember when, I began to scream
And you slapped me again, threw me 'gainst the wall
You looked in my eyes as my teeth bleed
You called me 'a b*tch, I'm not what you need'
Oh I...still don't know why
It had to end this way
Oh...I do not know why
Why you dragged me all this way
I am not a girl
Nor ever will be
I won't wear a skirt
That goes down my knees
I don't want no cherry lips...
Nor do I want you again...
I woke up on your bed and I was afraid
Blood was oozing down from my...oouu
All I knew was that I was feeling pain
From my legs, from my rectum, into my veins
I began to cry, asked myself why...
Why...you dragged me all this way
I wondered my, it had to end this way
Oh why...it had to end this way
"Report him, or I'll kill him," they said
And I knew he would suffocate from pain(and guilt)
So I said 'no', don"t tell anyone
Yes, I said 'no', afraid of everyone
But I couldn't explain all the facial blues
But so deep in my mind, I knew what to do
I was furious (furious), angry (angry)
Murderous (murderous), fatigued (fatigued)
Wrote a letter, signed 'sorry'
Should have caught him first before the police
He ruined everything (everything)
Everything (everything)
And he got me scared of of anything (anything)
Had to go therapy, just to heal my mind
Eventually, I came stronger and now I'm fine
So now...I know why
Things had to end that way
This bitch is wise... (er)
I got beauty and pride in my brain
I no longer ask myself why
Oh why...why things had to end that way
Ohhhhh...Why
